fkloster's P4 rig was clocked at 3.2 GHz. My old P4 rig was clocked at 3.06 GHz.

OK, here is my Athlon64 3200+ clocked at 2.1 GHz @ default voltage (210 x 10).

Sandra 2004

CPU
8711 MIPS ---- fkloster 6,021
3294/4270 MFLOPS ---- fkloster 6,292

Multimedia
Int: 15581 it/s ---- fkloster 14,897
Float: 20553 it/s ---- fkloster 22,662

Once I start overclocking this baby some more, we'll see what happens

Not with me running a "measly" 9600 Pro vs his 9800 Pro

fkloster is using a very old version of Sandra.

For instance MIPS will go up about 9914 like mine when he changes to the newer version.

Overclock to this:
CPU
10585 MIPS
7629 MFLOPS

MultiMedia
Int: 26308 it/s
Float: 38169 it/s

Rig:
Intel Pentium 4 3.2C @ 3.51ghz
Dual Channel Kingston PC2700 running at 3200+ at CAS3
Asus P4P8X I865 motherboard
NVIDIA Geforce FX5600U 256MB
Antec 530w Truepower PSU custom tweaked
Swiftech MCX4000 Heatsink

Edit: the FX5600U is beacuse im waiting for NV40 to sink cash into a good card

Edit2: reason for Fklosters low scores is probably HT not functioning, either not running a dual cpu OS or didnt reinstall after upgrading to an HT CPU.

Stop bumping this to the first page... I keep hoping for some useful information and I'm constantly let down. Let NFS4 bump it when he does a new benchmark.

I agree, and when we do bump this lets get some non synthetic marks as the p4 is obviously way ahead yet the real world does not confimr this from reviews all around the net. The 3.5ghz p4 will likely beat NFS4 non oc'd A64 but I think he and Fkloster should be neck and neck since Fkloster has the oc'd bus and memory.

I'm not hating on the 64, but I just think that it might have been a better use of your money to wait until you were ready to upgrade anyway.

I`m going to wait as well, another 6 months at least for me,I want PCI-Express and cheaper faster Athlon 64,so waiting seems like the best thing to do .

I'd have done the same thing if it weren't for the Intel Retail Edge package I just *couldn't* say no to. Looks like I'll wait out 64-bit a while longer....

It has nothing to do with "need"... There's a new kid on the block (A64), and NFS4 just wants to play with him.

Not just NFS4. There are others (like me) that will do the same...
