Been awhile sense I been here to get in your crawl . You must have a bad system to be running hot with an Intel,what you need is a aircondition room lol.
My system runs at 86 F at idle ( room temp 73 f ) and under load 108 F,with the 7000 zalman.So I don't thx you have every thing configured correctly or maybe you have a bad probe in cpu to get those types of temps.Thoses 800 systen chipset seems to run a little hotter trying to push that cheap crap DDR.
What you need is a good Rdram system .I will stay with my 3 giger with 533 fsb with the 4200 memory.Hell want be long befor Matrox has a program with their hard drive that will work better to cache than the diff in the memory speed of the 800 crap systems.Of course ever one has there on view;one of my rights don't you say!!.

Hey NFS4, your case cooling must not be doing the job or you live in lower west side of Hades. My IC7 running at 3.0ghz (2.4C), with a 7000Alcu idles at 37-39 and maxes at 56C (never seen it higher and typically games at 52C) with dual instances of Prime95. My room temp is average 68F (20C) and my case temps start at 22C and go up to 25-27C at full load running for hours.

Trying to run a silent rig or something?

No UT2003 for Linux 64bit using OpenGL

Already having issues. WinXP install keeps locking up at "Setup is starting Windows"

The FIC idiots don't even give you a floppy to install the VIA SATA drivers for WinXP setup.

Luckily, I was able to copy the drivers from the CD and put them on a floppy and they installed...but it still locks up in the same place. Grrrrr.

I created the RAID array with 2 Raptors just find so idunno.

BTW, I'm typing this on my iPAQ 2215...my only connection to the net for now...

Sad but true I agree with the folks at GamePC, via is one of the reasons people think of XP systems as unstable. Before nforce2 I always was a bit hesitant to recommend Athlon to anyone except experienced builders, who had no need of my help anyway
