Another perspective regarding "reality TV" shows was presented on a radio program that I was listening to a few weeks earlier: Networks make a lot of money whey they are able to sell their shows to other companies for the purpose of running them as re-runs. Since we all know the outcomes of the reality TV shows, they will never make it to the re-run market - so, networks will not be able to cash in one their success.

No, it would be boring as hell! What are we doing to do, watch him play with AutoCAD and fill out paperwork for pointy-haired bosses all day? It would be like watching a Dilbert cartoon in slow-motion.

Besides, most engineers nowadays don't create anything original. Instead, they take an existing product, and make it slightly smaller and cheaper. Then they add a new clock, cover it in silver paint, add some blue LED's to it, and then let the marketing team tell everyone that it is "ALL NEW!"
