REALTEK HD Audio not working, headphones

With my headphones I've tried front panel (HD and AC97) and rear, in my Antec 900, both didn't work. I've disabled the front panel detection on both HD and AC97 plugs from my case. I've changed from Headset to 8CH and tested each.

What else am I missing? I have the latest drivers and such.

Plugging headphones into the rear connections doesn't really work. The volume will be quite low. You should still be able to hear it. But the connection on the motherboard for the front audio has a pre amp on it so that you can get a good amount of sound out of headphones.

First thing we need to know is what motherboard you have.

Do you get sound at all? Like are your headphones good? Sorry but I don't want to over look a quick fix. If you have no sound at all it might not be the selected audio device in windows. If it is selected and you still get nothing, is it muted? There is usually 2 volume controls.

I don't mean to sound to basic but you didn't really give us anything to go off of. Did this just happen? Did you just install something? Is this a new setup? how long have you had this problem?

Definitely try your headphones with another device, or use some known working speakers/headphones. Provide your mobo information or a Newegg link.

Your BIOS may have a setting to turn on/off the Azalia codec. Put it on Auto if that option is available, or try switching between the other settings.
