Rear windshield tint peeled off

I had this very very light purple tint on my rear windshield that just started to peel in the corner (and exponentially) this past week. I had no choice but to take it off (and boy was that a task), but now I can't figure out how to get the glue off.

I've used nail polish remover, Goof off, etc. It's the angle that is killer (inside), I have no idea what to do.

Any suggestions?

That's OK for glass? (I mean the cleaner)

I've used carb cleaner to clean so many different things. It'll be fine for glass.

I seriously recommend _against_ using carb cleaner inside your car.

With that said, consider the following: Park car outside, spray windex on the glue, cover window with black trash bag (make sure surface tension of the windex holds it up), wait an hour or two, and the glue should come off pretty easily.

Doing this while the tint was still one actually would have made it even easier .

Why? The smell or will it damage something?

Not that anyone cares (but maybe it will help someone), I eventually got it off using some kind of Tar and Bug spray remover that is supposed to be sprayed on chrome, grills, etc. I used that a good bit (it's basically WD40), then I used a TON of Goof Off, some Windex, and water.

Took a long time but it looks 100% better than it did before. I still need to wipe it down with Windex later when it cools down.

Carb cleaner isnt that bad.. Spray it on a rag outside the car and go to town. A razor isnt recommended because you might scratch the traces off for the defrost.

Bah, I was going to buy some and do this, but people scared me away from it. Then I realized Goof Off is just as toxic as carb cleaner I'd think.

If you're worried about fumes just open all doors, park outside, and do a little at a time. If you want to you can use a box fan to blow into the car.

Just don't go overboard with it all at once and it will be fine.
