This list can grow, suggestions are welcome.
To start it off:
- Mitt Romney said he would look to Robert Bork to name judicial appointments.
Bork is a radical with terrible views, a warped version of the constitution, who received a rare vote killing his nomination to the Supreme Court for very good reason.
His character is suggested by the fact that when Richard Nixon told his Attorney General to fire the special prosecutor, Archibald Cox, simply to protect himself in Watergate, his own Attorney general refused and resigned on principle. Nixon told the Justice #2 to do so, and he refused and resigned on principle. He told the #3, Robert Bork, to do so, and he did as ordered.
That's the right's, and Mitt Romney's, idea of a great judge.
- I've also named Romney as one of the two worst 'flip floppers' changing positions for political benefit in the modern era. Not sure how to summarize the info.
