What a good deal.

However, they are lying to me at Staples.

First, they are totally aware of Buy.com's pricematch and Shawna said it's out of stock, try back in 3 days. Andy said his supervisor (whose name he doesn't know) said it's no longer available to Staples and if you order it you won't get it.

I'll try again.

Anybody else getting the runaround? Suggestions?

Patience and persistance paid off. Donna was really nice. Said I would have it by Friday - total price $54.00 even (including the diskettes).

Here's a suggestion: When you call, act like you've been doing some research on cameras. Be like, "MMMMMM, yeaaaah...I've been looking at webcam's around town and I was curious as to what you guys carried." And hopefully they'll say we have "x and x cam and Kodak webcam." Then ask how long that takes to ship out. You can figure it out from there. Or you could just keep calling like the other guys suggested

I was told the "distributor" for this item is out of stock. I got the impression that the CSR's were recently made aware of the rush on this one.

Don't think it will help to try back till the am.

I called and asked to check to see if the camera was still in stock.

The C.S. rep said that Ingram (their distributor) was no longer selling them to Staples as of today.

Soooooo.....

I'm wondering if the order I placed early this morning as well as the many orders my fellow anandtecher's have placed will go through.

We'll have to wait and see!

I was told this the second time after the first call when I was told it was out of stock.

Andy the CSR said they knew about the buy.com deal - may people are calling Staples for this deal - and suggested I buy from buy.com. He told me his supervisor said the rep isn't selling anymore to Staples. When I asked what his supervisor's name was, he said he didn't know. (Yeah, right)

The third time Donna (knew about buy.com, expected a pricematch and coupon), confirmed it was in stock and would be at my home by next Friday.

So, try try again. (Hit redial and watch tv or something while waiting.)

1st try..........Staples said buy.com ran out of stock 2 hrs ago cant do the deal .Said hes been doing this deal all day.

2nd try........5 minutes later deal goes through just fine with a different CSR. Looks like these people at staples can shoot from the hip if they feel like it?

This was my first pricematch I got a really cool CSR on the phone (can't remember her name, but she was really nice 'n' friendly). I got totally screwed up (yeah, human contact does that to me) and I ended up just hanging up. The CSR called me back instantly and starts appologizing for the disconnection. So, anyways, she was really cool with the whole thing and said she had already done the pricematch once and was going on about how it was such a great deal - nothing hinted that her manager had said anything about the deal. Guess it all depends who you get on the other end...now off to eb@y to get rid of the cheesy OM IBM cam...

for some reason the CSR would NOT let me get ground shipping. The only way that I could get it was next day air , which was !$17!!! I ordered it anyway, my total was $31.97 after PM and rebate.

WWwwwwooooooooo..... I finally got through after 6 calls (I think I'm the one who had the most number of calls, doesn't as long as it works!!). So for you guys who can't get it keep trying, the 1st few calls, they were telling me all kind of craps, like out of stock, cannot pricematch, buy.com out of stock,... IGNORE those CSR, they just don't want to do it for you, HANG UP and call again few minutes later...

2nd CSR took it no problem, added buy.com's standard shipping rate....charged me $54 after tax - shipping on Jan 30 apparently.

Just got one. By the way, this camera sells for $80 on Kodak's web site so the $75 price match is not that great of deal. The key benefit here is being able to use the $25 off coupon.

Just ordered it! I didn't realize I had to include the "IM" in the number, so it took several calls before someone caught my error and entered the full "IM1158956". They charged me a bit more for shipping than the original post indicated, but that worked out fine since it took the total to over $75 so I didn't have to find something to throw in! Total cost to me after rebate will be $26 and change.
