Rebates generally require a copy (if not the original) of the receipt which in turn verifies the purchase date.Originally posted by: gmn
Hello All,
I was wondering if the rebate companies actually lookup the purchase date in a store database, or do they only look at the actual rebate slip provided by the customer?

I'd doubt that they would even go this far. Do you think most retailers would trust the rebate clearing house with the sales data? I think not. Those silly rebate clearing houses would be pulling the sales data and selling it off the first chance they got.Originally posted by: music

Most probably a database. They'll check the transaction number from the receipt and get all the info there.
You shouldn't be cutting up your receipt.
I will say no more, as threads like this are not allowed.
There's a rebate tracking thread and an off topic forum that you can post in.
