Rebate Question...???

Hello All,

I was wondering if the rebate companies actually lookup the purchase date in a store database, or do they only look at the actual rebate slip provided by the customer?

Rebates generally require a copy (if not the original) of the receipt which in turn verifies the purchase date.

Of course they check the dates. Rebates have a specified timeframe, so they have to check the dates.
Price matching shouldn't affect your rebates.

Most probably a database. They'll check the transaction number from the receipt and get all the info there.
You shouldn't be cutting up your receipt.

I'd doubt that they would even go this far. Do you think most retailers would trust the rebate clearing house with the sales data? I think not. Those silly rebate clearing houses would be pulling the sales data and selling it off the first chance they got.
