has anyone got any type of tracking for the $20 OM WD hd and the free cdr deal? i sent mine in and got no type of tracking and i called up officemax and they said there isnt supposed to be any tracking so i am looking if any of you guys got anything. thanks.

There was a lether chair rebate I never received from Office Max. I saved all the receipt and copy of UPC, and invoice clearly shows there's a $40 rebate on the item. However, I do not have the original rebate print out. Anybody knows how to find one of the OfficeMax rebate sheets with like 100 items listed?? Much thanks.

Out of 14 Black Friday OfficeMax rebates submitted I have now received the checks for 13 of them and the last one says valid. None were rejected. I feel so lucky when I read all the problems other are having.

I'm having problems getting the $50 rebate on the Western Digital 120GB ATA 100 I bought at Fry's 2/14/2004.

According to RebatesHQ, February 14 does not fall between February 13 and February 19 (the rebate period).

They promise a reply to email inquiries within 24 hours. One week and two emails later, I still have no reply.

I tried calling their customer service line. A lady with a foreign accent, who sounded as if she was speaking into a tin can and string connection somewhere in Outer Bangthedish, told me they were having "system problems" and asked me to call back in an hour. I didn't do that, since I had to get on with the rest of my life.

PM me if you're having similar problems with this rebate.

I am having some problems with PNY $30 Parago rebate, they "never got it" (bs, never had a lost letter with USPS EVER), resubmitted via fax, still havent heard anything, will call wednesday and if they give me crap will start dropping terms like BBB, Attorney General, FTC, etc, etc

3 Approved
3 aren't in system, am calling wednesday (The iConcepts/Sakar rebate form and the $12 KHypermedia manufacturer's form)

I hate rebates. However, I usually get them. I just got a $30 rebate for pioneer dvd handled by wheresmyrebate.com out of new rochelle rejected. They say no UPC included. I taped the original to the form I filled out and made a copy. I have to wait til business hrs to call. I have a feeling I'm gonna get burned. I checked here to see if anybody else had problems. thecomplaintstation.com seems to be devoted to this kind of thing. What ticks me off is to go thru all the trouble to send it in and give away your personal info and they can do whatever they want. I will let everyone know what happens.

P.S. I was not comforted to see that there is no way to contact wheresmyrebate.com except for a long distance number listed on the site. Who does that? They have in fact no apparent mail service of any kind. If you check out the domain it points to mail.tcarebates.com and it has no pop or smtp service. That coupled w/ what I have been seeing on here and the other forum at fatwallet.com seems incredibly suspicious.


UPDATE: JULY 30, 2004
After calling and sending info via certified mail. All at my expense. I got hung up on 3x. An automated new email response stating the same thing w/ 30 day deadline. I just filed a complaint w/ BBB. More will probably follow. Frankly now I am just plain ticked off. This has been just absolutely ridiculous.

I purchased one of the 8X DVD burners from Office Max on 2/22/04 for $69 after $50 mail-in rebate. I just checked my email and I got an email response from Office Max. My rebate is INVALID due to INVALID UPC. I sent in the UPC from the Pacific Digital / Lite-On 8X. Looks like another rebate screw job by Office Max!!! Anyone get their rebate accepted on the Pacific Digital 8X DVD burner from Office Max? <B>

Update 3/16/04: I called the Office Max Customer Service Center 888-641-4109 and spoke to a customer service rep (after a couple of failed attempts to navigate their confusing IVR system). Turns out the Pacific Digital UPC has two bar codes, a serial number (top of UPC) and a model number (bottom of UPC). They incorrectly used the serial number bar code instead of the model number bar code to process my rebate submission. The rep applied the correct bar code number and said I should receive my $50 rebate in 4 - 6 weeks.

I called the 1 800 number on form for wheresmyrebate.com and explained that they said I hadn't sent UPC when I had a copy showing it taped to the rebate form very well. So I have to mail it...probably need to send certified because they can easily say they didn't get it just like they said about upc. I taped that thing on very well...you couldn't rip it off w/o destroying form. Don't know if it is worth $30, but now it is a matter of principal.

I received a rejection note from www.rebatestatus.com about a buy.com rebate for the Aspire AD-1100 DVD player, which I submitted in Jan. Turns out they entered the Dept# incorrectly. I only noticed this when the rejection note said the rebate was for $45, rather than the $30 rebate on the player. I called the # I found in the first post, 800-554-9838 ext. 6100, and got a friendly CSR who corrected the problem and resubmitted the rebate. Much more effective than email, so I'm glad I checked this thread!

If anyone else has problems with rebates sent to Cont. Promotions, this is indeed the number to call!

I have received two emails from Officemax regarding incorrect items. One for Turbotax and they say there is missing documentation where I bought a Maxtor drive, and the other for a Canon calculator which I did not purchase.

Who do you call one this one to complain? BBB?

This may have been asked before. I downloaded Rebate Rebate! and it looks great. The only problem is what do I do about items that have multiple rebates? It looks like it's calculations of total spent will be off if I create multiple rebates. Unless I just put the purchase price of the other rebates to 0. Any ideas?

You need to call the number on the rebate form for each item. Officemax rebate houses seem to make an inordinately large number of errors in rejecting submissions but do validate them when you call. It's a pain, but it works.

Had the same experience with OfficeMax on Pacific Digital as mentioned above - INVALID UPC. In my case, I only sent in the UPC and not the serial number. I processed two of these rebates, one for me and one for my parents. Same problem on both. They made the first rebate valid after a call. I called for my Mom on their rebate - and they said they would make it valid. That day it went to PROCESSING. When I checked back a few days later it was INVALID again. This time when I called, they said it was marked invalid for UPC and "Postmark". Hard to be Postmark, purchased the drive on 3/7/04 and it was only 3/19/04 when I called (not quite 14 days, eh?). ONCE again, CSR said it would be processed, this time it showed up as VALID the next day.

Looks like I'll need to watch this one more closely than usual.

I sent in for a $30.00 rebate for a Antec Sonata computer case to New Rochelle last September. I've had nothing but excuses and delays from these people and its been 6 months now. After contacting them several times I finally gave up and filed a BBB complaint. Man do these people have a bad track record with the BBB. I'll bet I'll never see my rebate. TCA already has an unsatisfactory record so I don't see how unresolving this complain will help. They are not disputing that they owe me the money and the rebate is approved. The problem is ACTUALLY sending me the rebate!
