When you hear their excuse, please post it here as accurately as you can. I don't see where they could find an excuse. It's unbelievable. I've participated in probably about 30 rebate programs and have never experienced anything like this. If this is the TT State rebate and the same rules as mine, you won't get $40, though. $29.95 was the limit according to the rules of my TT State rebate. But they sent me $10 too. Intuit rebates (see my post above) is making good on the difference.

i sent in my original information back in december - i purchased ttax home and biz and quicken 2003 home and biz so i expected the $50 rebate... when i received it in late january the check was for 29.95. I was told to mail it back to them and once they receive it, they will send me the correct $50. five weeks later i receive another check - AGAIN FOR 29.95!!! I am so fuming now... i call and speak to the manager finally who says "oh yea it sure does look like you are due the $50." he says mail back the check and we will get the 50 out to you...

so now i am waiting... what is funny is that the following appears in my intuitrebates.com page:
Appeasement Promotion for TurboTax (Do not Enter Records without Approval) $20.00

but i do not see anything about the 50 and since i sent back the 29.95 i best not get a check for only 29.95

this is absurd..

i am so mad about this it is all a friggin scam

I think you should call the Intuit Rebate toll free number and tell them your story: 800 605 2652. I did, and they are sending me the money I'm missing. Chances are good they will bypass the 3rd party (Parago) and make you out a check. I was mad too. I have better things to do, but it was the principle that movtivated me. I also figure that a lot of other people are going to have similar problems and that in a sense I'm going to bat for them. I complained the same day I got my $10 check that should have been $24.99.

Regarding Hi-Val / I/O Magic Rebates:

I just called to check up on a submission from 11/29/02, and the customer rep told me that they didn't have anything for me since September '02 (online was showing April '00). I have made three submissions since September. You can't convince me that every one of them got lost. I'm willing to believe they are just tossing them. Rebateservices has always taken a phone call (for me, anyway) in order to get a rebate paid, but this is ludicrous. I would strong discourage anyone from buying Hi-Val and I/O Magic products in the future if you expect to get your rebate in a timely manner (or at all!). And if you haven't taken the time to follow up on any submissions, I would defeinitely do so.

Their phone number is 800-607-7466 and fax is 714-648-0111.

My rebate has yet to be processed at rebatestatus.com, although rebates before and after this submission have been.

Also, anyone seen a rebate for all the free after rebate software Amazon had? (i.e, LOTR, TA: Kingdoms, Earth & Beyond). Again, my submissions have not yet even been processed.

I received mine yesterday. I had a similar issue - I ordered a FAR piece of software with my mouse. I mailed both rebates at the same time. The mouse was posted on the site within 2 weeks after I mailed it. The software was never listed. I waited a couple of weeks and called the number on the rebate form. The CSR figured it should have been listed by then and resubmitted my rebate over the phone. I was very pleased the way I was treated - great customer service (odd saying that regarding a rebate company). Try calling them and express your concerns. I hope they'll help you out like they did for me.

Email came back from 'Robert' saying to call them. Given list:
Quicken 2003 : (888)213-9917

Called them and was told that they needed the receipt showing my Quicken purchase. Hmm...bought TT and Quicken on the same receipt and circled the prices like the form asks. Remind me how they credit me for one item but not the other?

Faxed the receipt to 317-805-5581. Man, was it difficult to get through. They must be trying to screw everyone. I guess their labor cost is so low they make more money paying someone to throw the submission away 5 times rather than just process and pay the rebate once.:|

Purchase date Dec 30 rejected: got a card saying invalid date.

I just got a postcard from www.rebateshq.com (CenDyne DVD-RW) saying my rebate was denied because it was after the postmark deadline and had the wrong UPC.

It was supposed to be within 15 days of purchase.

I ordered the DVD-RW drive online on Sunday the 19 and the order shipped on the 21. I had the rebate postmard on the 3rd of Feb.

I have never seen anyone ever use the order date and not the shipped date!! The order date to me doesn't mean a thing...that is just when they got the request for the product. It should only start when the store has started the process of getting you your package!!! Right???

Even still isn't the 3rd 15 days after the 19th?

I am going to call and complain...
But what are your thoughts?

The same thing happened to me. Their "20 days" to get your rebate didn't happen; it was listed as new for the entire time. I gave up on the rebate until I received a check in the mail months later.

I've started to use delivery confirmation for my large rebates.

Postcard came today saying it was not purchased within the required date.

Drive purchased 1-19-03. Rebate valid 12-29-02 to 1-25-03. Mailed 1-29-03.

Called RebatesHQ, got right through, explained to CSR, he put me on hold, came back on and said all is verified and corrected, expect check in 4-6 weeks.

This was an interesting challenge. Google is your friend. When I searched for "Meritline" I found a Meritline.com. This etailer carries items using its own brand name. Here is your Meritline EZ LabelPro on their website. I searched their site but could not locate anything referencing rebates. However, when I check their "Contact Us" webpage it says they are in City of Industry, CA. So, it looks like they are handling their own rebates on their products or they are paying someone locally to handle them. I would suggest calling them on their toll free number 888-668-6660. You can also try emailing them using the information on their Contact Us webpage. Hope this helps.

I had never done a New Rochelle rebate until last January.
It was for an Antec SL-400 power supply ($10)
I sent it out on 1/6/2003

I just checked the www.wheresmyrebate.com site and found my rebate has been approved and is due to ship on 4/17/2003

Giving 3 days to reach New York on the front end, that puts my rebate check being mailed at 14 weeks. Personally I find this unacceptable...

Am I being too nitpicky?? Should I call them?? Would it actually help or piss them off???

Unfortunately, this is normal for TCA. It takes 3-4 weeks from the time you mail in your rebate until they actually add it to their system. Then they add 8 weeks for processing. Another 4 weeks is added for some unknown reason. They have also been bad about extending the mail date another month or two once you reach the expected mail date. It usually does not help to call them and complain. Some people receive their rebates on time but it's not the norm.

Does anyone have the mailing address and phone# for the Staples $10 Taxcut Standard/MS Money combo. rebate that was offered in early January (1/04-1/18)??

Mailed mine out in mid January and it hasn't surfaced yet. RebatesHQ doesn't list it and the csrs tell me they need the original address in order to help.

I only copied the top half of the three foot long form and that didn't include the address and phone #. Thanks for any help that you can give.
