IIRC, www.directwebsource.com is not a rebate center. It is a distributor of computer products that is located in Texas. They used to be a major supplier of computer components in the Buy.com clearance section. The only thing I can think of at this point is to file a complaint with the BBB and AG of Texas on directwebsource.com and Fry's. It might be easier to just visit Fry's and compain to them.

Thanks for all the help. But I'm not sure if wheresmyrebate/TCA can be much help at this point. The phone rep that I talked to said that they were just a third party processor of the rebates and that there's nothing they can do once the manufacturer swaps rebates houses.
Of course, I can't even contact the new rebate house.
Here's more info on the modem itself, in case that helps:
Encore Internal Fax Modem, Model CTR-21, Fry's Stock Number: 3189360
(There's zero contact information on or in the box.)

Bob, checkout this rebate thread at FW. A manager from TCA started the thread. He may be able to help you. The thread has some interesting information.

OK, I need some help with a rebate.
I bought a 56K PCI modem from Frys Electronics in January of 2001 that was "free" after a $25 rebate.
Any suggestions as to what to try next?
Bob
(I've submitted dozens of rebates over the last couple of years totaling well over $1000 and this is the *only* rebate that has not come through.)
