IIRC, www.directwebsource.com is not a rebate center. It is a distributor of computer products that is located in Texas. They used to be a major supplier of computer components in the Buy.com clearance section. The only thing I can think of at this point is to file a complaint with the BBB and AG of Texas on directwebsource.com and Fry's. It might be easier to just visit Fry's and compain to them.

SHEDEVILII, Bestbuy has been a real pain about this online vs B&M rebate form stuff. I would go back to the store where you picked up your order and refer this problem to their customer service desk. They should be able to resolve this problem for you. If that fails try calling the BB Customer Relations Dept. at (800) 369-5050 opt. 5.

Thanks for that additional info! I had no idea *what* directwebsource.com was. I might just try taking this up with Fry's, purely from a principle standpoint.

Mailed 11-02-02 and had to call one time. Lately all my rebates have been only a phone call away LOL...

they just told me I have to speak to the rebate center their is nothing they can do. So I think after the 2 other rejections get here I will take it all over to the store, with my son who was there with me to back up what she said to me when I asked how to get the forms. and hope I can keep my ATTITUDE in my back pocket. :|

they should be required to make that statement about the rebates somewhere on the page when checking out..

You can email Debbie Beckmann at Best Data (debbie@bestdata.com) She responds pretty quickly. I got my first $10 check last week, about 12 weeks after I purchased the modem. They're processing the rebates themselves and it's slow going.

Parago's new Miami rebate center LOST NINE (9) rebates submitted with delivery confirmation ! ! !

This is truly unbelieveable.

Since December I have only had six (6) of nineteen (19) rebates submitted, properly processed by Parago's new RebatesHQ.com processing center! ALL of the rebates were to P.O. Box 028515

NINE (9) OF THE REMAINING THIRTEEN (13) REBATES NEVER APPEARED ON THEIR WEBSITE ! ! ! The remaining four (4) rebates have been submitted since the first of the year. Most of these rebates were sent via USPS Delivery Confirmation, and were confirmed as being delivered to Parago on or before December 30th, 2002. I'm now being told that I have to resubmit all nine (9) rebates.

If you have ANY rebates more than three weeks old which have not posted on their website, YOU BETTER CALL . . . .

When you go to the store be nice but firm. Ask for a manager if neccessary. After explaining nicely, if they still don't want to resolve it then you can pull the attitude out and let them have it. Find out who the district/regional manager is and get his phone number. You can also try filing a complaint with the BBB.

Thanks for the link. I emailed Frank at TCA and he sent me back the following message:

"I'm sorry , but I cannot help you with this one. Direct Source Distributing ran into financial trouble last year some time, and stopped paying its rebates. TCA formally terminated our relationship with them due to lack of payment. We have had no contact with them in quite some time.

Frys should be willing/required to help you with this."

I appreciate that Frank responded so quickly on this although the overall situation is a little frustrating. I'll try to take this up with Fry's and see what they are willing to do.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that have absolutely *no* idea that their rebates will not show up because of DSD's financial troubles.

I argee, some Dec rebates send to rebateshq has lost totally. But due to my lack of tracking. I only find some.

Got an Intuit rebate within 4 weeks.

IO Magic update: this piece of junk company finally relented and are going to send the rebate. It took two threatening e-mails to dislodge them from their bogus decision that the "terms were not met" on an IO Magic 24X CDRW that I got from Circuit City in November.

With one exception, the lost rebates where mailed between December 7th and 24th - all to P.O. Box 028515 // zip-code 33102-8515. Those mailed after the 25th I'm not sure about [yet], but at least one has cleared.

Does anyone know more about their 50-rebate limit? Via PM I was told that after 50 rebates, Parago's system can no longer pull-up the rebates for online tracking. Basically, once you've gone past 50, the *only* means of verification is by phone!

Anyone having trouble with Polariod? I keep contacting this guy named Damon Martin, and he keeps claiming that the checks were/are being/will be cut soon. THe rebate is from July on a 24x CDRW. Anyone had any luck with these clowns?

You can track past 50, if you have the tracking number for a given submission. Myself, I tend to do a search by first/last name + zip instead of by tracking number. It's that latter method that has the limitation.

If you know a specific tracking number for any submission, then you can track it online easily enough. Now, when you get the email, that includes the tracking number, but half the time I don't get the emails. So, you'll be needing to call up after 4-5 weeks to get tracking numbers for submissions. Once you have them, online track away.

Lanyap is the dude/dudette who maintains the company info/tracking info for FW, not some run of the mill schmuck like, well me for instance! It's been reported in various threads but alas, 50 is too small a search string on most of these forums and that's the single best one that would get the hits I want.

Think I figured an easy solution to parago's 50 result max when doing a search by first/last name + zip.

When you hit 50 submissions, start using a different/new email address for new submissions. If you go to search, put in the new email address in the search field along with your name/zip to refine the search. Then it will only show submissions under that name + zip + new email instead of EVERYTHING under just the broader name + zip search method.

Course, I am sure that "I" didn't find this and that many others have, I only mean to suggest I finally figured this out on my own without reading it somewhere.

I did finally get two rebates from Polaroid after a series of email conversations with Damon. I'm sure he's swamped. It looks like Polaroid didn't have enough money on hand to cover all the rebates they got...I think they were still running on the philosophy that only 20% or less of the buyers actually submit their rebates. Laff.

I would have to say that buying a Polaroid product with a rebate from here-on-out is a bad idea.
