If you purchased the CD-R/W from Best Buy and IF you have copies of everything, call their rebate center at 800-849-0444 (work your way through the VRU). They will have you fax copies to them and will deal with it. The CSR I spoke to said I should have a check within 21 days.

I'm missing a $20 rebate from a purchase made 2-17-03. All of my other Bus-Link rebates had previously appeared (usually within 12 weeks), but they seem to have fallen off the edge of the Earth now.

I just got the 50$ from Office Max HD deal.

However still missing the CC 80$+60$. Called today only to be told that they don't really know and to call Western Digital Direct. I think It's time to start wipping out the unhappy customer face and talk to the local CC Manger and write some complaint and BBB mails.

Well, On April 15th of this year I bought a 512 Meg stick of PC2700 K-byte ram at best buy. The rebate was supposed to be $35. Well, I just got in the mail a card that says........


Dear Consumer:

Thank you for participating in this promotion. Unfortunately we could not honor your request because of the following reason:

The UPC symbol or proof of purchase tab you submitted is not valid for this promotion.


I am pissed to say the least. I have done many rebates, and I know what to include. UPC symbol from product package, rebate forum and receipt.

Now, I would not have bought this *&^$#@ ram if it wasn't for the rebate! Now, almost 3 months later they tell me that?

Anybody have any similar experiences? If so, what did you do? I think I am done even messing with anything with a damn rebate!

And just so everyone knows, it is impossible that "The UPC symbol or proof of purchase tab you submitted is not valid for this promotion" because as most of you know, when you buy something at Best Buy that has a rebate the rebate form prints automatically. If I had purchased the wrong ram, the form should not have printed out. Oh well, I will just call them Monday.

i mailed in the same rebate (in mid-May)....tried calling them, but they won't check anything unless you've waited at least 8 weeks from post date.....

did you keep a copy of what you sent to them? if so, call em up and ask what was wrong with the upc. maybe a newbie processed your rebate and messed it up.

I bought a 256 MB stick from Staples - no problems with receiving my rebate. Sorry to hear about your trouble (such is the nature of rebates :frown

Flash1969, give them a call. I've had this type of problem before. It was because they said my UPC was invalid also. I called them, and they asked for the UPC code off the receipt. I told them it and they made my rebate valid.

Received the rebate check on 6/5
About 6 weeks turn around. Not bad.

My other experience with Amazon/Viking/TCA stunk and I'm pretty much making it a point of every time I post here to knock TCA and Viking. Stay away from those guys.

Flash1969.... same problem here. I'm going to call them tomorrow when I remember to bring all the details to work with me. Good luck mate, here's to getting our $35. If it were $5 I wouldn't really care as much, but $35 is a decent meal out and was the only reason I had for buying the RAM in the first place.

I just got an E-mail from WD saying that my $50 rebate was not postmarked on time ( it may have been postmarked 1 day late) and that my rebate is invalid. Do I have shot at calling them to resolve this? I could saying that I used a 3rd party mailer like Mailboxes ETC. and they delayed the sending of my claim.

I had a 30 day deadline and I bought the item on May, 30 and I mailed the rebate out on June 28th. The P.O. probably stamped it on June 30th. I can't believe they are so anal about this.

I submitted my logitech rebate 20% off cordless stuff a while back, like in jan or feb. I got a rebate eligibility confirmation in the beginning of May, and it said to allow 30 days to be sent. Now its mid july and I didn't get my rebate yet. What should I do?

I received the Netgear wireless card in the mail yesterday too. I PM'ed Frank the TCA CEO at FW last Sunday. He said the card would be mailed out at the beginning of the week. I don't know if me prompting him got them to send the cards out or they were scheduled to go out.

You can call Parago and/or check your status online. Parago takes a very long time to process Logitech rebates. I have not figured out why yet. If you call Parago they will repeat the 30 day speel(sp?). When you argue that it has been five months they will still tell you that you should receive your rebate within 30 days. If you press them really hard they might tell you it's a technical problem but they cannot explain why or what the technical problem is. They just now cut the check for my two valid $10 mouse rebates I sent in March. It will be another 3-4 weeks before I actually receive the checks.

I got all my Best Buy, Circuit City, and Staples rebates within a month of their submission..now thats what i call good service..

this is the BB, CC, and Staples rebates only..not any other company rebates that goes along with it.

Got a $100 check on Saturday from easierrebate.com for all of my Mad Dog Multimedia purchases from Officemax...CD-ROM, CD-R/W Drive, GF4 440MX and Prowler 4.1 sound card. Kinda nice how they can combine all those rebates onto one check.
