got a rebate declined post card from Trend Micro,
about a deal around June for Pccillin 2003 upgrade rebate $25 from amazon.
dept. TM010.

funny rejection reason: submission for the 1040 TurboTax or TaxCut rebate was postmarked after offer end date.

call in and was told the system pull from a perious April record that involve the 2 products. May be they reuse the rebate # or something. Check will be mail within 10 days. so the $25 is safe.

OMG. The latest Fry's $30 rebate for Creative Labs Audigy 2 requires that you send the entire box top that contains the UPC sticker. The box top is at least 12 inches long. I'm sure many people will get screwed when they send in the UPC part of the box top, not the entire box top. Maybe I'll just flatten out the entire box and send it in.

Does EasierRebate really suck or am I just having bad luck. I'm still waiting for my CDR $17 rebate from some eWorks CDRs back in February. Their contact us page never gets me a response (tried half a dozen times) and their status check says they never received my documents. I emailed the email addres that a whois search turned up for the domain and am about to file a BBB complaint.

What else can I do? WIll OfficeMax do anything to help us out if that's where I bought it from?

Well, you want two answers to two variations of the question.

#1 - Is the CSR correct? Do the terms of the rebate allow you one rebate PER ITEM and thus, one rebate on each item.

Answer - 100% hell no! That CSR is dead wrong.


#2 - Has anyone successfully received rebates on more than one item in regards to these cendyne single offer number situations?

Answer - Yes. What happens is the second submission for a second item will get rejected, the reason being that... a duh... limit 1 rebate per person for this offer has been exceeded. Then you gotta call parago, hope you get a pliable CSR, and get them to validate the submission.


Your reading of the form is correct. The CSR is incorrect. I wouldn't do a second rebate but that's me.

i think OM has email for their rebate: omxrebates@officemax.com
try to complain there and let us know.

fyi - after almost exactly one year, yesterday i finally received my $30 visiontek mail-in rebate for the geforce4 ti4600 i bought last year in july, right before visiontek filed for bankruptcy. so if anybody else mailed in for a visiontek rebate, there's hope after all.

Latest Parago Scam.....

Staples had the Maxtor on sale with an $80. rebate, if you bought it 6/8/03 - 6/21/03; offer# 03-58872.

Bought it 6/19/03; sent in form on 7/16/03 (of course I got receipt form USPO for mailing on 7/16/03).

Their C/S dingbat claims they got my submission on 7/24/03 and are denying rebate because a) they didn't get it until 7/24/03 (nonsense, as the date of mailing is what's important) and b) they claim the rebate period expired on June 30, 2003 (nonsense, the rebate form clearly says the above dates and "...must be postmarked by 7/21/03."

Told them, to "read the form !!!!!"; their denial of rebate is a "willfull fraudulent act" and if they don't approve rebate, I'm going to file a complaint with Florida Attorney General and demand [politely] they be fined for violation of consumer laws....

Also told them I will notify Maxtor and Staples they are willfully refusing to honor a fully complied with rebate submission.

Let the fun begin !!!

Just call again and get a different CSR who *isn't* an idiot. Get said intelligent CSR to validate it.

Also, you said the csr said the rebate period expired on june 30th. You mean the promotion itself or the postmark date? Or did you mean may30th? What? Cause if they promo ended on the 30th, clearly the 19th of june would put your purchase before the expiration of said date.

Thanks, Cpaladin. That's what I thought - only one item per rebate form. I don't need that hassle. I think I'll return this 48x cendyne (its a Benq anyway) and go for the 52x this sunday. The last couple 52x cendynes I bought were Lite-ons. It looks like there are no more 48x cendynes that are actually Lite-ons left.

I've been very happy with Best Buy rebates. Have always received them in a timely manner. Not like with Viking flash products and TCA in particular. Stay away from Viking/TCA.

Prago update....from my previous post.....

They said "...send us a copy...".

Instead of mailing it in and waiting 3 months for them to find it and read it....I did one better.....I scanned my receipt and the rebate redemption form printed by the Staples' register and converted it to a jpg file and then sent the jpg file [it was a very large file, about 700k] to them..... After conversion, I tested it; reducing the image size meant problems reading it, as the print on my copy was already reduced in my copy machine; didn't want to give them another excuse....

APPROVED !!!!!!


Now the wait for the check / postcard.......

does easierrebates have a phone number?? I received a rebate rejection notice due to past post mark date.. BUT i have documentation showing i mailed it WAY before the postmark date and on their own fvucking site it says they received it way before the postmark date.. crazyness

any help?

w00t! Got both of my $30 Maxtor rebates (80G HD from Staples back in mid-May) today...technically they were pretty close to 8 weeks after I mailed the stuff in (said 6 to 8 weeks on the rebates).

Here's the WHOIS info from them. I tried emailing the guy at his AOL address and got no response. I filed a BBB complaint instead and am now contacting OM...

Well that seems to have worked. I emailed the OM email address a week or so ago and today got something from a Shirley McGee that simply says: "Customer will receive rebate within 30 days."

Guess I'll see what happens...

I explained the RebatesHQ.com story to Dell on their message board, and they hooked me up with a $20 credit. I'm still upset by the way Parago denied the rebate for no reason... they should have paid me, not Dell.

I was scanning this thread specifically looking for info on this rebate (and here it is, in the last post!). I am in the same boat as you... got the $45, but no sign of the $25. This went to Parago and their site still shows "...Your rebate is valid and in the last stages of processing..." I think I will try to call them tonight to get some more info on this... I'll let you know what I find.....
