My guess is that Test-Rite will not pay outstanding rebates. You'll have to get your money from the retailers. I had a bad feeling about Cendyne for a while. I was afraid this was going to happen. You can't stay in business and dole out the large rebates that Cendyne did for a couple of years.

I don't get it... If what alot of articles about rebates are true, most of their rebates were left uncaimed. I doubt if they ever had more than 30% of their rebates fulfilled... So blaming on rebate losses is a complete BS. I can already smell their accounting books cooked.

For those of you who already have Cendyne rebate checks in-hand but haven't cashed them, they should be good as the rebate center doesn't send checks until the funds have been transferred into their account.

It'll be a little while before OMAX makes a decision on those outstanding Cendyne rebates purchased/advertised thru them, but I wouldn't be at all suprised if they ended up offering gift cards. I WOULD be suprised if they went ahead and honored the rebates for cash as I'm sure there are tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of unpaid Cendyne rebates right now.

Will let you know when I know (which is not to say someone else might not know sooner!)...

Thanks Karaktu, keep us posted, I'm still waiting on several Cendyne rebates from about February. I was about to go buy another Cendyne drive this week from OfficeMax w/ 2 rebates... hmm... I guess I shouldn't do that.

This is in regards of frys PCanywhere (Symantech) 70$ rebate.

That promotion ran for a few days and they were mostly sold out because of it.
It made PCanywhere nearly FAR (tax only) with one rebate over $80, and the other for $70.

Some of us got the $80, but *NONE* of us got the $70.

It turns out that frys simply made up a form and printed it and handed it to people. The rebate center has no records about that particular promotion.
So whoever made that mistake (like me, AGAIN!) to buy rebate stuff from frys, make sure to follow up on that.

This proves again, that these people are real scumbags.

Update - Mine got paid out today. Of course mine is about 9 or 10 weeks old which is the usually lag time between received date and a check date where cendyne rebates were concerned.

Rebate: $20.00 Rebate Check
Rebate Information For:
Promotion: Up to $30 Mail in Rebate on Select Cendyne Products (OfficeMax only)
Submission Type: MAIL
Date Received: 06-19-2003
Status: Reward Fulfilled
Check Number: xxxxxxx
Check Issue Date: 08-22-2003 (Please allow 10-15 days for delivery)
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid. Please allow 10 to 15 days for delivery. Thank you.

Only just *today* did my submission change to fulfillment status. In a day or two a check number and mail date will show up, as this is how it always works with parago. I'm thinking perhaps parago has more money from cendyne in it's own coffers that has not been expended yet. Who knows.

If I get my 20 bucks, I ain't gonna complain.

Belkin Mini-Scroller Optical 3-button Mouse from Circuit City
This was the FAR fiasco they had where they changed the qualifying dates from all week to that weekend only. Luckily I purchased during that weekend.
Bought 7/13
Sent out 7/14
Received the $10 rebate today, 8/22.
5 weeks.

Pretty good. Definately not TCA and/or Viking.

Finally got a Viking/TCA (New Rochelle) $20 rebate that I submitted in January. All it took was mailing them the forms three times, the last two because the previous ones they "had no record of receiving." In addition, I had to contact two State Attorney General's offices to file complaints, Ca for Viking, NY for TCA. And I also complained to the BBB in NY. After all this, they finally sent my $20.

Stay away from TCA New Rochelle rebate center. They are pure sleaze and try to make you feel guilty for complaining. I think they throw a hefty percentage of rebates right in the trash without even opening the envelope.

got some info from my local Omax manager, he also handles the rebate stuff.

Basically, Omax is going to take fund Cendyne rebates. I hope my approved ones gets paid ASAP. If Omax comes through, they've earned alot of respect and satisfaction from me. I think I'll put them above Staples on my shopping list.

Hello,

I recenty received a spam message to an address known only to your company
(i.e. easierrebates2003@vallarian.com)

It is not noted in your privacy policy that you underhandedly sell off the names and email addresses of
people who submit rebate claims to bastard spammers.

That is no way to do business, and if it continues, I will contact the compaines that you do business with (i.e. officemax, etc) and
demand that they stop doing business with disgraceful and unethical compaines like yourself.

Thanks.

I bought a 100 spindle of Khypermedia CDRs on 7/27 from Officemax while they had $12 manufacturer rebate and $8 OM rebate.
Then I sent the rebate form and all required documents on 8/01.
Today I received a postcard saying "The postmark date on your rebate submission was after the deadline for this rebate."
But on the rebate form, they said "Submissions must be postmarked within 14 days after purchase date." So it's 8/09.
I checked my status from their website (www.trackmyrebate.com/khypermedia), and they received my documents on 8/11.
So I wanted to call or email them, but I could not find any email or phone number.

What's the problem with them? Is there any way I can do about it?
I'm so upset.

Officemax rebate question.

The officemax rebate form says......

1. Purchase any of the products...
2. Save the original dated receipt.
3. Save the UPC bar codes from packages
4. fill in your name....

okay. what do they mean by "save" the original? I can't send all originals.. cos there are some manufacturer's rebate requiring Original UPC.

rebatestatus.com denied my Buy.com rebate for the Yahama speakers ($25.00). Said SKU number was different from Packing Slip vs receipt. The packing slip has 2 SKU number's on the paper....have to e-mail them and contest this. A FYI for the rest of you!

Hi! I bought the same thing. The khypermedia rebate (can track with RebateHQ manufacturer's rebate), must be postmarked by 7 days. the other OM rebate is 14 days ( can track also on rebateHQ, but through the officemax linky, new to me).

so... i hope this clears it up.. as i'm going to submit that OM rebate too!

Thanks for the heads up. Those bastages. They probably asked for the packing slip and receipt so that they could do this on purpose.

"Oh, we are really sorry. We made a mistake and looked at the wrong number. So now we will make you jump through hoops to make us correct this. We will also extend the time it takes to send your rebate. We hope other people like you don't notice so we can screw them too and keep their hard earned money... We love our job"

Those bastages!

I've just had my $8 OMax khypermedia rebate denied as well, but it's for the wrong UPC. I'm going to try to send a copy.

LOL.

My $12 manufactuer's rebate is valid and all that, but my $8 Officemax rebate is denied because of an invalid UPC. I just have to laugh.

Does anyone remember the praises we were singing about how great RebatesHQ was, maybe two years ago?

Joe

P.S.

Still nothing on the Cendyne front that I've heard.

This happened to plenty of folk over at...what do you alls call it, chubby pocketboot or something. Whatever...

1-888-385-1165

Call that number, don't choose any options just stay on the line and you'll get a CSR. Age old deal with getting parago to validate it. If you call a rebateshq.com number, you won't get anywhere since the OM/BTS rebates don't show up on rebateshq.com and they don't show up in the rebateshq.com CSR's computers either. They can't validate a submission they can't see in their system.

All the new OM/BTS rebates show up at www.maxmyrebates.com and even though it's STILL just parago, one hand apparantly doesn't have access to the other hand's rebate submission database so call that number to get it resolved.

In my case, it turns out they rejected me for not sending the original upc, when a duh, I had to use it for the mfr rebate.

Actually, you CAN email RebatesHQ (Parago) about your Officemax/BTS rebates, as long as you have the tracking number (starts with a "1"). They were able to correct my invalid UPC problem via email (in less than 24 hours, even!).

Thanks for the phone number, though!

If there is a manufacturer AND Officemax rebate, you send the original to the manufacturer and the copy to the Officemax rebate address. If it is ONLY an Officemax rebate, you send the original UPC.

Keep in mind that this last round of rebates went from the end of July to the middle of September, and there's a limit of one per household on those Officemax rebates even though certain items (i.e., WD 40 gig, Khypermedia 100 CD-R spindle) were advertised two different weeks with the same rebate offers.

i have only one item each. even if its on different weeks. Thanks for the heads up. I might make that mistake in the future.
