Was wondering about this also. When you track it, says exactly what Lanyap posted. Not only is 4 months a really long time, but now Soyo has been acquired by PC Chips :disgust:

Any word on the amd retail bundle rebate?

It was for the asus k8v deluxe and the amd athlon 64 3200+ and had a $100 mir for retail employees only.

Mine was denied due to lack of original UPC. Total BS. I know I sent it.
I faxed copies of everything to 800-886-8370 and emailed jpg scans to rebates@parago.com as outlined on page 1 of this thread. Anyone else get a bogus denial?

PS I just called 877-699-8797 and talked a nice lady. I said I did sent the original UPC, and she validated the rebate. The above rebate page is different now, but still says 'no refund will be issued'. I'll look at it later and see if it changes.

That's funny. I'm getting the exact same 'No refund will be issued' message. I'm wondering if Mad Dog just decided to void all of their rebates on this product. I'm sure that'd piss off a lot of people...

I wonder if I can return an item to OfficeMax with the UPC cut out and only a photocopy of the original receipt. Hah. Somehow I doubt it.

No. I've been following the SOYO rebate situation since they started their big rebate promotion push in March. I have not heard of anyone receiving theirs yet. On their rebate website they say 16 weeks from the final postmark date of the individual promotion. Here is what they say when you check your rebate:


As of 07/24/2004, we are processing rebate postmarked date 03/29/2004.

You can find your rebate postmarked date from the mail-in rebate form. It is located right above where you fill in your name, and states "THIS REQUEST MUST BE POSTMARKED BY ...".

If your rebate postmarked date is on or after the current processing postmarked date, please check your rebate status in a few weeks later. Please DO NOT contact us for status, this will only slow down our procssing time, and we will not be able to response you regarding your status queries.

If your rebate postmarked date is before the current processing postmarked date and you still cannot find your rebate status in our system, please contact us at rebate@soyousa.com for further help.

Checked on this again. It now says: "As of 08/08/2004, we are processing rebate postmarked date 04/11/2004."

Does this mean they are up to the ones postmarked 4/11/04? It's been awhile, i don't remember when the promotion period was or when i sent it... i do know i didn't waste anytime sending it out though.

This SOYO rebate situation is out of control. By their own estimates, they will not have sent my rebate 6 months (26 weeks) after I sent it in. Not only is this *double* the time stated on their rebate form, it is in clear violation of federal (and many states') laws.

If their site does not show some acceleration soon, I will be putting together a threatening letter to SOYO, and as an attorney, I expect that I'll see some results. That they were purchased by another company is completely irrelevant to their legal obligation to fulfill their rebates.

Yes I did. The e-mailed me and told me they processed (accepted) my information and I would get my check in 3-4 weeks. Then I got it. I lvoe getting checks in the mail. Keep in mind the envelope is pretty much unmarked and prior to opening it I thought it was a solicitation of some sort because of that fact. It says Time Sensitive Information enclosed or something so I thought it was some sort of credit card thing. Boy was I wrong!

New scam from CompUSA. I was rejected on the Maxtor 200 GB hard drive.

The reason = ? = Now they want the packing slip even though it not specifically listed as required to be provided.

Original rebate sent June 30th.
Rejection received August 10th (yup)

Now resubmitting. Sent a letter of complaint via Planetfeedback. Thanks to the mod for the info.

Just received my $60 for Symantec Systemworks from Staples' MARCH promotion. I called 8 times over 65 months, was told, in order (some "just wait more"s omitted):
"resubmit"
"resubmit again"
"I approved for you"
"There is no approval on record and the promotion is closed so I can't approve for you, but will escalate handling (this from supervisor)"
"the promotion is not closed, I approved for you"

What a runaround. And this from STAPLES! Used to be the best.

The sweet revenge is that the $90 purchase of Norton Internet Security and Systemworks bundle totaled $110 in rebates.

This has to be one of the fastest on record, at least for Fry's.
I bought a PNY 256 MB CF card for 34.99 with a $20 rebate. I sent it in on 8-3-04.
They received it in their system 8-15, cut a check 8-18 and I received it 8-23-04.

Has anyone gotten their BioStar rebates at all?

Purchased a BioStar motherboard/case combo back in April 2004.
Submitted everything.
Call them in May 2004 where they said a check has been cut, they just don't know when they are going to mail them?

It's been almost 5 months! I've never had rebates take this long!

Greetings fellow Hot Dealers,

Apparently, there has been a slight policy change regarding online rebate submissions (e.g. staplesrebates.com) for items purchased at B&M Staples stores. Nowadays, you must include the original rebate form printed out on B&M cash register tape even if you do the rebate submission online. The was not the case before. I confirmed this change with a staplesrebates.com representative by phone this afternoon.

Many times in the past, I would purchase a item with rebate at a Staples B&M store. Instead of dealing with the meter of tape printed out at the cash register, I would simply submit the rebate online via staplesrebates.com. After printing out the online submission form, I'd follow the line #2 proof of purchase mailing instructions and include the original store receipt and/or UPC code as necessary. I did this many times, and never had a rebate rejected.

In June 2004, I purchased a Netgear MR814 wireless router at my local Staples B&M. I did an online rebate submission as usual, and along with my printed out submission form, I included my original Staples B&M register receipt as was specified on line #2 of the mailing instructions. Several weeks later, I received a rejection postcard stating that my rebate had been rejected because:

"You did not submit your rebate form with your entry."

Despite successfully completing and receiving many dozens upon dozens of rebates from tons of different retailers, I assumed this time I had screwed up, and bone-headedly had not included my rebate form in the envelope. Fortunately, I scan and PDF *everything* associated with a rebate before sending it out just for situations like this. Anyway, I called up staplesrebates.com at the end of June, they had me fax them a copy of all my paperwork again, and that rebate was approved and delivered.

In mid-August, I purchased two more items with rebates at my local Staples B&M, and I did an online submission of them like usual. Well, lo and behold, today I received a rejection postcard for one item which cited the same problem about not submitting my rebate form with my entry. I went online to track my rebates at staplesrebates.com to figure out what happened, and I noticed the second mid-August rebate had also been rejected with the same message!

Anyway, I grabbed my archived PDF submissions, and called up staplesrebates.com. The representative told me that the two mid-August rebates were rejected because I had not included the original B&M cash register rebate form. I mentioned that I had never done this before, and that I always got my rebates by sending in just the printed out submission form along with the proofs of purchase specified on line #2 of that submission form. She said that a policy change had taken place recently, and that online submissions of B&M purchased items must now include the original B&M register tape rebate form.

We politely chatted about this for a few minutes, and she mentioned that when the policy change was made, the wording/details was not synchronously updated everywhere. I pointed out that I had another B&M purchased item from just last week, and that the register tape *still* said that I could submit the rebate either online *or* by completing the cash register tape rebate form. So apparently they are still updating the wording/details everywhere.

To be fair, I went back and scoured my PDF archived materials. For the first June 2004 rebate that was rejected, nowhere does it say the original B&M cash register tape rebate form must be submitted. On line #2 of the printed submission form, it simply states that I need to include my original register receipt (not the rebate form).

For the two mid-August rebates that were rejected, line #2 on the printed submission form also says only the original receipt is necessary along with the printed submission form. However, in the "Promotion Details" fine print of that same submission form, it also says "For purchases made at Staples Stores, send the completed ORIGINAL rebate form and ORIGINAL rebate receipt." This is definitely a new clause they have added--I have years of PDF archived submissions, and none of them say to include the cash register tape rebate form.

So anyway, basically, buyer beware. No longer can you just submit the proofs of purchase specified on line #2 of the printed out submission form. This is obviously an area where the wording/details has not yet been synchronized.

I've gotten really paranoid about rebates and read everything twice and then have my husband check to see if he agrees with what I've done. You just can't ever get complacent about them, 'cause, soon as you do, they'll up and change something around just to mess with you. They probably have a department that dreams this stuff up inorder to torture us. Or, do you suppose, less than ethical people were filling out the store rebate forms and sending them in and then filling out the online forms, a lot of which haven't required UPCs lately and sending them in as well?

Yes, I guess this is a possibility, but if it happens to be the motivation behind this recent change, well, it's a shame. I have no problem using legitimate coupons and rebates to put together a good deal, but in my opinion, double-dipping like this is definitely not appropriate.

Well I was finally able to get the status of my amd rebate for the retail bundle.

What I did was go to onerebate.com and use the "check rebate status" link and on that page I clicked on the forgot tracking #, it then asks for you email, (if you used an email on the rebate) I entered mine in and it sent me my tracking #!!

Unfortunately it's still at the rebate accepted stage and no check has been cut.

I checked my Soyo rebate on the wireless router from March. I have been approved for my $50 since Aug 5 and still no check! Don't get too excited until you get that check cashed!
