Anyone ever filled out a rebate from Justcom? I bought a usb hub from newegg and sent in the rebate way back over the summer (mid-July maybe). I still haven't received the rebate. Just wondering if anyone has received any rebates from this friggin' merchant.

Greetings fellow Hot Dealers,

Apparently, there has been a slight policy change regarding online rebate submissions (e.g. staplesrebates.com) for items purchased at B&M Staples stores. Nowadays, you must include the original rebate form printed out on B&M cash register tape even if you do the rebate submission online. The was not the case before. I confirmed this change with a staplesrebates.com representative by phone this afternoon.

Many times in the past, I would purchase a item with rebate at a Staples B&M store. Instead of dealing with the meter of tape printed out at the cash register, I would simply submit the rebate online via staplesrebates.com. After printing out the online submission form, I'd follow the line #2 proof of purchase mailing instructions and include the original store receipt and/or UPC code as necessary. I did this many times, and never had a rebate rejected.

In June 2004, I purchased a Netgear MR814 wireless router at my local Staples B&M. I did an online rebate submission as usual, and along with my printed out submission form, I included my original Staples B&M register receipt as was specified on line #2 of the mailing instructions. Several weeks later, I received a rejection postcard stating that my rebate had been rejected because:

"You did not submit your rebate form with your entry."

Despite successfully completing and receiving many dozens upon dozens of rebates from tons of different retailers, I assumed this time I had screwed up, and bone-headedly had not included my rebate form in the envelope. Fortunately, I scan and PDF *everything* associated with a rebate before sending it out just for situations like this. Anyway, I called up staplesrebates.com at the end of June, they had me fax them a copy of all my paperwork again, and that rebate was approved and delivered.

In mid-August, I purchased two more items with rebates at my local Staples B&M, and I did an online submission of them like usual. Well, lo and behold, today I received a rejection postcard for one item which cited the same problem about not submitting my rebate form with my entry. I went online to track my rebates at staplesrebates.com to figure out what happened, and I noticed the second mid-August rebate had also been rejected with the same message!

Anyway, I grabbed my archived PDF submissions, and called up staplesrebates.com. The representative told me that the two mid-August rebates were rejected because I had not included the original B&M cash register rebate form. I mentioned that I had never done this before, and that I always got my rebates by sending in just the printed out submission form along with the proofs of purchase specified on line #2 of that submission form. She said that a policy change had taken place recently, and that online submissions of B&M purchased items must now include the original B&M register tape rebate form.

We politely chatted about this for a few minutes, and she mentioned that when the policy change was made, the wording/details was not synchronously updated everywhere. I pointed out that I had another B&M purchased item from just last week, and that the register tape *still* said that I could submit the rebate either online *or* by completing the cash register tape rebate form. So apparently they are still updating the wording/details everywhere.

To be fair, I went back and scoured my PDF archived materials. For the first June 2004 rebate that was rejected, nowhere does it say the original B&M cash register tape rebate form must be submitted. On line #2 of the printed submission form, it simply states that I need to include my original register receipt (not the rebate form).

For the two mid-August rebates that were rejected, line #2 on the printed submission form also says only the original receipt is necessary along with the printed submission form. However, in the "Promotion Details" fine print of that same submission form, it also says "For purchases made at Staples Stores, send the completed ORIGINAL rebate form and ORIGINAL rebate receipt." This is definitely a new clause they have added--I have years of PDF archived submissions, and none of them say to include the cash register tape rebate form.

So anyway, basically, buyer beware. No longer can you just submit the proofs of purchase specified on line #2 of the printed out submission form. This is obviously an area where the wording/details has not yet been synchronized.

Parago has been bad about rejecting rebates lately for bogus reasons. I think they must be under a lot of pressure from their clients to reduce the outflow of money.

Well, thanks to this thread and the fact that I copy everything I send to the rebate companies I finally receive my OM rebate from a Febuary purchase. OM tried to jerk me around by saying the rebate in question wasn't in their system and must have gotten lost in the mail.

I emailed them and they responded by telling me to send copies through snail mail, which I did. Then I idn't hear from them for another 2 months after that first email. So, I email them again about the rebate and get the same old response about not in the system, but this time they want me to email the copies as JPEGs.

Well, no sooner than a few hours later they send an email with a link to their rebate site. It says the rebate is approved and that it should be mailed shortly. If they would not have resolved this issue I was on my way to filing a complaint with the CA. State Attorney General's Office, BBB, and Planetfeedback.com, and whomever else would listen.

OfficeMax is the only company I have trouble dealing with rebates, and I have yet to buy anything from there since Febuary, either. Funny, they sent me more coupons through the mail and email during that time I was not buying from them than they ever have.

in the amount of $100 for Rebate Offer AMD-1017 ($100 AMD EPP Program Bundle
(Private Offer))

Please allow 7-14 days for receipt of your payment."

OM sucks at rebates. I mailed out a $100 rebate a long time ago for the Sony Clie SJ-37 they had on sale, and it has been nearly 4 months and still no news. Checked various websites and none of them have my name anywhere! It also sucks that I lost the copy of my receipt so I can't really call them and do anything, can I? Can anybody help me out here?

My $60 Seagate rebate for the 200GB HDD (purchased early September) was also denied. I received a postcard saying "invalid serial number" plus it said if I wanted to provide more information I could mail them the card along with any additional information by 10/20/04. Guess what date I got this postcard? 10/20/04. I still had my photocopies of the UPC with the serial number and I went to Seagate's site and punched in the serial number and got "200GB HDD, warranty expires 2009." Bogus serial number my hairy a**. I telephoned the provided 800 number and after wasting time in the voice menu and on hold, I got a live body that asked me to read the serial number off the drive. I read the number off my photocopy of the UPC and she said, "okay, the serial number got approved as valid, your rebate will now be processed." What BS!!!

I got a postcard denying payment based on postdate. However, all I had to do was call and inquire about the status. They said because "I was such a valued customer" they were going to go ahead and pay the rebate. Isn't that sweet?

Ah, I'm always paranoid when submitting rebates - I'm very anal about doing everything according to the instructions. Yeah, that sucks, but I ALWAYS get my money. Knock on wood..., I'm about to submit my rebate form for my Star Wars box set from Coconuts. Sonsabeetches insisted on my cutting out the orginal UPC from the SW box! That's after crediting a number of customers, but they wouldn't do it for me. It's a crime, but I did it. However, it looks like new anyway because I scanned the original and printed the scan on a sticky label - looks quite professional. And mine has the mark of Zorro!

I'm still waiting for my AMD $100 retail rebate... The onrebate BS is a scam imo...

Check this out:

My E-mail on 10/23/04
Ok my info is:
xxx

I applied for the Offer #: AMD-1017
Rebate amount: $100.

I sent the rebate out around 06/28/2004.
However I have yet to even receive the rebate yet as of (10/23/04)... after almost 4 months later... Thats over 2 months over the promised delivery period of the rebate. Also to note that my rebates from other companies which I submitted in 08/04 have already been paid out.

I've made numerous times to contact you guys,
1st) I mailed my submission (6/28/04), never even received an email acknowledgement which was supposed to be sent to me.
(8/1/04) I wanted to check up on status so I registered with the site onrebate.com. I got a reply back saying that there was already a submission that was being processed for this offer (so I know you guys got what I sent).
I get assigned a primary account tracking #: XXXXXX for this rebate offer.

2) I check back on this tracking every few weeks, all it says is Awaiting receipt of documention... and on and on...

3) (9/16/04) So one time I checked it said X Payment processed (everything else had correct checks on it) SO i email you guys for the status.
(9/23/04) Which in return I got an email from you guys which looks like an automated message that replied:

"We sincerely apologize for your frustration. Unfortunately, the checks have been delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. Please allow 2-3 weeks to arrive. Your check is being processed. "

BTW can you explain whats so out of your control as to processing a check? 1 - does customer qualify for rebate, if yes... write check out 2 - mail check...HOW HARD IS THAT?

4) So I check again once in awhile nothing still changed... I notice the X Payment processed appear and disappear here and there. Ok a WHOLE month later...

5) (10/23/04) So now I check again, and the X Payment processed is back.
So now I write this email.

I have yet to even receive a single intelligent acknowledgement of my case. Nor any update on the status, infact this whole deal seems like its bordering upon FRAUD. I wonder if your company even has any intentions of resolving this issue. I have saved copies of all my receipts, upcs, rebate forms, and sent all the correct submissions well within the guidelines listed by the rebate.
I will be setting aside one more month for you guys to get your act together. In which case, if this has not been resolved; I will be submitting all saved emails, paperwork to the Better Business Bureau.

Sincerely,
xxx

It's been a year since I've done a Biostar rebate but I did get it it. Only rebate contact info I could find was an email address: biostar@rebatebase.com

It appears that they may be handling their own rebates so you can also try to contact them directly: http://www.biostar-usa.com/contactus.asp

I wouldn't take a chance with a different name and address if it's on your receipt. They will probably check that information. You might want to give the post office a forwarding address.
