I read the number off my photocopy of the UPC and she said, "okay, the serial number got approved as valid, your rebate will now be processed." What BS!!!

ive been corresponding with them since october 3rd. filed a complaint with the BBB today. going to file one with the FTC now as well. dealing with rebates is the sux0r. heres what i wrote for the bbb:

I purchased a 200 gigabyte Seagate hard drive from Fry's Electronics on 09/03/2004. It was eligible for a $60 rebate and so I copied all of the forms and sent in the rebate via USPS Certified Mail. It was received 9/29/2004. Rebate status as of 10/03/2004 was INVALID due to "Household Limit Exceeded." Impossible since this is the FIRST and ONLY Seagate product my household has ever purchased. I inquired about the problem via Parago's online complaint form. Received prompt reply from ALBERTO that it was getting forwarded to a special team. I waited 3 weeks before emailing again explaining I had only purchased ONE seagate product my entire life. I received a reply from JOSEFINA asking for my serial #. I replied with my serial #. I received a reply from THERZAGHY telling me my household limit had been exceeded. I emailed again explaining my situation. I received an email from YUNE telling me that I was correct and my records had been updated. I checked the website and even though it said that my rebate was "in the final stages of processing" it also said that "NO REWARD WILL BE ISSUED." I emailed once again to clarify on this issue. I received an form email from EUDY, obviously not reading my email carefully, telling me that my rebate was in the final stages of processing. I emailed again for clarification and received an email from JOSE apologizing for the misunderstanding and assuring me that my rebate was indeed in the final stages of processing (despite what I was seeing on the RebatesHQ.com website, apparently). On 10/30/2004, I checked the RebatesHQ.com website again for status on the rebate. It had been changed back to INVALID citing "Household Limit exceeded" AGAIN. I emailed them again explaining my situation and JOSE (the same one?) responded to me with a form letter telling me that my case had been sent to a special team. I don't know if I should wait another 3 weeks before complaining again. I feel like I am going in circles with these people. Please help!

Too bad companies don't handle rebates like Costco does, with Costco you can submit your rebares online. You put the product number, the cash register number, store number (all of these are on the receipt) your name and address and your all done. I submitted mine on Saturday and today they sent me an e-mail confirming it was received and that I should get my rebate in 4 to 6 weeks. Of course you have to pay yearly membership fees ($45) to shop there so they are more willing to keep their customers happy.

Anyone knows the e-mail address of D-Link's Customer Service? I bought a DI-604. This item has a $30.00 rebate. My rebate status, however, is only showing a rebate of $20.00. I visited their website but couldn't find any infor on this matter. TIA.

Got my $120 rebate from Outpost on the 250G Hitachi drive...submitted end of July...I kind of worried first of all that there wasn't a normal UPC code on the box and second of all that the $120 post card from rebateshq would be "hijacked" before it got to my mailbox. But it all worked out fine.

I contacted tech. support already. They told me to contact the company processing the rebate. That is no help at all. I must say that their customer support is lacking.

Dlink rebates are handled by GFS last I checked. Here is their email addy: customerservice@gfsinc.com
You also may want to try calling GFS:
"If you have any difficulties feel free to contact customer service between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm Mountain Time at (800) 279-4784 if you purchased your D-Link product from a retail store or (800) 279-4763 if purchased online."

hi all, i just noticed this forum hangin up there in the hot deals. rebates are a pain in the ass to deal with, but when they work, man are they worth it. The trouble is you gotta keep copies of EVERYTHING. I've been messing with vb.net and I managed to put together a simple little program for tracking rebates. It's not much, and it probably doesn't work, but if you guys wanna try it and help me out, I can try to make it better.

It runs fine on my pc, but I don't know if it will on yours. You need the .NET framework installed for it to run. Any comments would be appreciated. It has helped me keep track of which ones I've received and which ones I need to call and bitch at people for. Check it out here.
I would really like to improve this program, so if anybody uses it, tell me what you think and what you want in it so I can improve it.

I found this deal on here.. and I know a few other of you did too...

I am going to take Amazon.com to small claims over not paying a rebate..

I am looking for anybody that purchased the Sharp VLZ3U Mini DV camcorder last year when it had 2 rebates on it... $50 Manufacturers $100 Amazon.com

If you recieved both rebates.. please let me know!! Amazon is not honoring their $100 rebate because they are telling me that it was stopped 5 days before I purchased it.. even though their CSR's told me that the rebates were good at the time.. and.. they are saying that they cannot make exceptions for anyone.. but I know some of you recieved the $100 rebate!!!

so please..if you purchased that and recieved both rebates please contact me!!!

Alright.... Bought some items at FYE during Black Friday sale.

Fuji 30pk CDRs and some Maxell batteries all FAR. Both require an original receipt. What's up with that? I had them both on the same receipt. Fuji rebates are bad, but they make good products, TY CDR/DVDR.

I was calling them up to see if they'll accept a reprint register receipt.

Fuji rebate is handled by express group which recently moved. Called the number and it said they moved. New number is (248) 446-0952. Is this a good/bad sign? Rebate goes to Douglas, AZ.

Also Maxell rebate doesn't have a number on the rebate form. I hate rebates which doesn't list a contact number/web page, risky. But I think it's processed by Global Fulfillment Services / GFS because it goes to Mesa, AZ.

Any people have experieces with these two rebate companies?

They screwed me over on the $10. I just got an email from them telling me it was rejected. They're complaining that

"Unfortunately, we were unable to honor your request for the following reason: We did not receive an original UPC symbol or proof-of-purchase tab with your request. (You submitted a copy of the UPC symbol or proof-of-purchase tab. An original UPC symbol or proof-of-purchase tab is required."

$40 rebate: "Please submit a copy of sales receipt and the original UPC"
$10 rebate: "Please submit a copy of sales receipt and a copy of the original UPC"

Obviously its impossible to submit two original UPCs.

For the sales receipt requirement, I submitted the original "Rebate Receipt" they give you at Fry's. Since they're doing this rebate promotion in cooperation, there's no reason why this is not adequate. The woman at Seagate demands that I fax them the SALES RECEIPT which I don't have here. So I followed the rules, I submitted the material provided by Fry's for rebate, they're still not happy. What's the deal with this?

Does anyone have the Staples Offer # for the I/O Magic 16X DVD Writer bought during Black Friday. They didn't give me a rebate form for this, I got duplicates for the HD I bought. I need the offer number to submit the EZ rebate. The SKU of the drive is 788069008976. I emailed Staples and all they told me was were to look on the receipt, they just ignored my request for the number.

Also does anyone have the phone number or address for PQI? I submitted a couple of rebates for CF cards in July and Auguast and haven't heard anything.

Has anyone gotten the $60 rebate from the Fry's 200GB HDD? My rebate was received on 9/23 and on the site it still says "Your rebate has been entered and is scheduled for final processing." Is that an abnormally long time or is this normal?

I got a question. I just found 3 rebates that i havent recived payment for. They are old. 2 of them were from december of 2003 and one was from April of 2004. The one from April is the one that i really want, its $30 for a HD at Circuit city. I have photocopies of the reciets and upc code. is it to late to get them now?

You can try, but there's a very, very good chance that the rebates are closed out and the programs no longer exist, which means no funds to pay out.

Just got two rebates for Symantec System Works 2005 Professional bought at Fry's ($30 and $20). Only took 3 weeks. That is almost a record for me.

after waiting for my seagate rebates for months now, and receiving the e mail stating they were valid and ready for processing 2 months ago, the status just changed on the web site to invalid and says the serial number was not a valid seagate serial number, but it was, so anyone else getting screwed by seagate after we all say what a great company they are? I did get the best buy rebate for one they price matched over a month ago though. I want my hundred dollars for xmas :-(
