For those who bought a Dell laptop back in November with the $750 off $1500 deal:

Has anyone received their rebate for the $49 shipping yet? Thanks ...

Has anybody got a problem with D-Link DCS-900W Wireless camera from best buy?

My order was shipped out right 1 month after order date, thus I missed the postmark deadline. I called CSR at best buy to ask whether I return the package as the rebate is already expired. CSR said just to mail out the paperwork as the rebate center knows the problem in fulfilling this order.

Now I got a denied postcard with "Submission postmarked after offer end date" and the Mesa AZ rebate center can't help even after I explained that the delay came from BB.
BB's CSR also can not help, the only solution that she offered was to bring it back to the store and return it for a complete refund, which I would do.

This would be my last purchase from best buy.

I guess I have been lucky so far. Shop at Best Buy every Black Friday for the past few years and have gotten all my rebates although some took 2-3 weeks longer than they stated. That is for in-store purchases. I have also gotten some stuff from bestbuy.com and the rebates have always come well within the stated timeframe. You have to be real careful though that you follow the instructions on the rebate form. Some just want you to fill out the form and a copy of the receipt, some want copies of the of the UPC or the actual UPC itself, and some want even more.

Just want to give two   to Enermax.

They sent me an e-mail stating I didn't send in one of the two UPC codes required, gave me a deadline to send in the additional UPC, and came through, as stated, with their rebate.

All you other companies take note.

Emailed Seagate's presales support complaining about thier rebate house last week. Got a reply saying that they'd sent a request to have mine expedited. No change. Still no reply from the BBB. I'll give another call tonight, and if that doesn't go anywhere, I'll try the FTC.

Just got my first EasyRebate checks from Staples - for the Black Friday goods.
I submitted 5 items at one time and they came back all at once (5 seperate checks). Not the quickest turnaround (11/26 to 1/10) but definitely hassle-free. THe online query still shows my rebates as "pending" so they're a little behind on their status.

I got the first of two black friday rebates on:
dlink wireless kit from best buy

I also got my $3 check from over a year ago on the Fox X2/ LXG rebate. They had sent it to the wrong address and it never got cashed so they very nicely sent me another one to my correct address.

got a postcard from pnyrebates (rebateshq.com) stating that I did not submit the original UPC for the 256 mb ddr ram on black friday from compusa.

the rebate form clearly states to send a COPY of the upc. what a bunch of scammers. anybody else get this problem? sent them a nasty email, waiting for a reply....

incidentally, i wanted to remention my rebate program, I improved it quite a bit, and it has a notes section where you can log calls to customer service and stuff like that. if anyone could try it out and send me their experiences it can only get better. link is above in my previous post if anyone is interested

still waiting on 3 $60 rebates from western digital on black friday, has anyone got theirs yet? I have received confirmations but no checks

My Seagate rebate is re-invalidated for the seriel number. I was told to call:
877-271-3285

Update:
Seagate said they'd call the rebate company, and tell them to cut a check. If I'm lucky, I'll get it sometime this month.

Soyo still owes me a $50 rebate from the Barebones kit from TigerDirect. Does anyone know how to contact them?

I remember seeing a phone number on a rebate forum a while back. I called it and got 2 of my 3 rebates within 2 weeks. I wish that I had kept the number, now that I'd like to call about my third rebate. Thanks for any help.

Anybody had any luck with Panasonic rebates? I sent one of in October for a SD card I bought @ Fry's - $30 rebate. My info *still* isn't in their online database, and my emails to their "customer service" have gone unanswered.

Alright, so no one else knows the Soyo phone number.... Guess what? I found it. If anyone is interested the 'Soyo Rebate Center' phone number is 909-292-2504. I hope that it helps. The last time I called there I had 2 checks within a week. This time I called and she said I should have my last check in 2 weeks. Good Luck to all involved.

I'm getting ripped off (or so they think) by Fry's/Outpost/Seagate again.

They advertise on their website they've got a rebatel I buy and fill out forms. Uh oh, I get Seagate 300GB five days later, but I ordered Christmas eve day and rebate not effective until 2 days later.

So what are the jerks doing adveertising a rebate that isn't effective yet?

That's the only reason I bought the thing: the rebate. Drive is not only still new, but likely will be for at least a few months. I know I can always get my money back on a Linux or Apple board locally, but I'm getting tired of these Seagate jerks and Outpost/Fry's curiously is always the dealer.

I've won one already against both in small claims court: double damages.

Wandered around their website 30 minutes then made three "800" calls. No email. No phone. Just that stupid address in El Paso.

Am reloading and getting reading to go down to court again. We shall see. In this case I once again have both as defendants and double damages on both, a cool hundred bucks total for maximum 3 hours wait, filing cost $8.50. Don't get too excited unless you check your state first. Me ? I'm just a hick from the sticks in the Midwest. C'mon Seagate, I'm ready for you.

All I can find on side is their made POB in El Paso. None of 800 numbers here or provided by various departments there have worked so far. Am hoping Outpost comes up with an email address.

Go get 'em guys. I understand small claims courts won't take Inet stuff in some states. Sure glad they do in my state.

This is about the 120GIG drive from outpost.com on 11/26. had a $40 and a $20 rebate if bought on that day.

I just got a post card from seagate saying I was supposed to send in the original UPC and proof of purchase tab, but the rebate form said to send in copys!!?? Actually I belive it says it twice!!

The $40 one said to send in the originals.

I have the forms in .pdf form if anyone else runs into this and would like them!

Hey Univac

Yeah you noticed what I think of Outpost/Seagate. But I've gotten so many "deals" I keep buying.

I think they hire grade school drop outs to process their warranties IMO.

You just got to keep after the jerks. I've tracked down one rebate they had at virtually the same time on exactly the same drive but it's $40. not $50. like mine, and just like your mess, mine wanted original invoice but I notice their other one says copy. I dont know if it's the nuts at Outpost or the ones at Seagate that screw those up.

Still no rebates from my August mailed Seagate submissions for 3 (different size) Seagate drives bought online at outpost.com. I've never complained to the BBB or FTC, but if I get stiffed on any of these or forced to go through many more hoops I surely will complain to those agencies. In about another 6 weeks it will have been more than 6 months. At that point I explode! :Q Yeah, maybe small claims court too. Never done that but if push comes to shove, I might.

They did the same thing to me. Just call them up and they will correct it.

Who is to blame for the plethora of Seagate HD bought at Outpost.com rebate snafus? Or is it a tough call?

I'd go to your State Attorney Geneeral or equivalent of that in your state.

Ours has the record settlement for the country against amazon.com of all things and we're not a big state. That office has always agressively pursued claims against Internet companies. They have something like 20 lawyers in the legal division and 40 in consumer.

I know it varies from state to state but a letter from some lawyer with the name of a state's bureaurecy letterhead of some sort can get their attention.

I've always: (1) gone BBB (2) Atty General's office (3) small claims court. What they do is temporarily convert the court to a regular district court. That doesn't mean I have to have a lawyer as I represent myself. In such cases it helps, but isn''t required in my state, for the eCommerce vendor to have some prescence in the state, if ony a warehouse, but it isn't required. With no storefront, for example, the judge tends to require very FULL and convincing evidence. A receipt or two and a nasty letter wont buy it.

In my last case like this I nailed the online vendor (advertising) and manufacturer on a $50.00 claim. That's $100.00 instead of the 50.00 I had coming, but in my state I can also claim attorney's fees if I have one (no one bothers) and get DOUBLE damages. That means $200. instead of a $50.00 rebate.

Good deal. I'm not so sure. All the hours and frustration leave me thinking I just wish I'd get an honest shake, like I do on most rebate deals, and move on. I can't decide if it's a way of making money, i.e. to be sloppy or have the consumer not know the rebate exists (or forgets to turn it in) or what.

I do know the PR is terrible. They're missing the whole point. They're giving the rebate for some reason, typically to move a new product or reduce inventory, but I'm also a potential future customer. Of course this remains one of the great failings of the Inet versus storefronts, but a lot of those jerks got weeded out during the dotcom bubble bursting and I've been pleasantly surprised many times the last few years. In 1995 service was uniformly lousy IMHO. I think those like Amazon made it because of earlier better service (in part). The fact Ive got an issue going with Amazon right now didnt stop me from just placing another order, however. I think Ill work things out. Seagate and Outpost don't get it.

No more Outpost. No more Seagate. There are too many other "deals" out there.

I talked to two people at Outpost on phone.

They finally gave me a number at Seagate. It was a "referall" department (sounded like some guy in Pakistan to me). They referred me to an 800 number. Wrong number. Called back. Gave me entirely different number. Wrong department but they could refer me. Wrong department but they referred me to......a dead end on their website (Seagate) I'd just come from.

(I just reread this carefully to make sure it's accurate.)

The Seagate website is a joke. Most of the "email" links lead to a dead end or FAQ page. No email. No phone.

So I started get all my docs together, new screen shots, etc. etc. and mailed my little package to Outpost since I at least had an email for them. Time will tell. Don't give up or let the suckers rest.

Am glad you had a good outcome. I've had dozens of good ones and four bad ones, counting this one. Enough people gripe they'll get the message. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm not letting go.

My OPINION is both Outpost and Seagate. Seagate isn't really in the retail or eCommerce business and the have thousands of channel partners from every storefront electronic or computer place you can name to many on the internet.

I think this breeds a lack of skills in dealing with channel partner. We now move to Outpost which is really Frye's, Inc. The old Outpost.com was one of the best service providers, for a large site, I've ever seen. In the bad old days of about 1996-1997 Outpost had some of the best buys, all platorms and accessories, on the net. I bought a lot on the net then and much more now.

Frye's is huge. Management must have pinheads. This sort of problem, especially when mfg. is so dumb they hire fools to process claims, doesn''t have a clue about the damage they do. Look up "seagate drive rebate" on google and elsewhere (not all make it to google in this case for some odd reason) and you'll see, to me at least, an incredible number of complaints. And keep in mind we're just past the holiday buying season. The real problems haven't hit the fan, so to speak, yet, and won't for another six to eight weeks.

And their already posting ifo on site apologizing for delays. Delays? They can't possibly have touched the tip of the "delays" yet. BTW, the reason I can get double damages in my state is because they fail to provide the rebate within the stated "appriximate" (my state doesn't buy "approximate") 6 to 8 or whatever weeks.

In short both are dumb and represent the old mentality. Why Fry's hangs on I don't have a clue.

(Sorry for the long messages/rants. Am venting but hope this helps.)
