Many if not most of you know about the Microsoft Settlement thing going on. If you bought any of many Microsoft softwares over a period of some years you are presumably eligible (or were) to apply for a reimbursement. The article I read in the S.F. Chronicle last December said about 10% of the people qualifying had applied and that you had to apply by Jan. 8, 2005. It's software purchases from 1995 to 2001 of qualifying products. I filled out the form indicating that I'd bought Windows 2000 in 2001 and sent it in on 12/29/2004, and have gotten no word or the $16 I'm supposed to get. Does anyone know what's going on with that?
Each state is different. I sent my settlement in 55 weeks ago. According to the website, MS will be mailing out the checks in August, but that's for the state of Minnesota.
Several appeals have been filed in California
I suspect you will have to wait at least 6 more months
