Post the latest information about various rebates, here. If you want your posts to be helpful, keep them factual. If you believe there is a problem with a specific rebate, do your homework and learn the facts before you post. DO NOT speculate about what may or may not be happening.

The most helpful posts include:

1. Verified contact information (mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, names etc.) for rebate sources. Active links always help.

2. Accurate details of the kinds of proof of purchase and other documentation required (UPC codes, receipts, etc.).

3. Significant updates and changes in any of the above info.

1) Read rebate requirements before you buy the product or as soon as you buy the product to be sure you meet the eligibility requirements and you know the mail-in dates.
2) If you are buying a product and the rebate is online, download and/or print the rebate immediately. Some online sites will remove rebates as soon as the sale/promotion is over.
3) ALWAYS make good copies of everything you send in for a rebate.
4) Complete all information requested on rebate form in a legible hand writing. You may want to use all caps.
5) Provide all documents requested on the rebate form.
6) Put your rebate documentation and copies in a safe place and follow up on the dates they are due.
7) Call about your rebate if you do not receive it when it is due.

Just a heads-up regarding some rebate checks and their expiration dates. Lately I have been getting Belkin rebate checks with 2-4 weeks left on the checks before they expire. Another member mentioned Kingston ones with the same problem. I don't know if there are any others. So, if you're in the habit of holding on to yours for awhile before cashing or depositing them, you might want to start checking the dates first.

Cases in point:
Got one check that email site said had been mailed Jan 27. Date on the check was Feb 12, I received it Mar 16 and it expires Apr 12.
Got a check today (Mar 29) dated Feb 21 and expiring Apr 22.
Member tuongo got a Kingston check beginning/middle of Feb dated 12/30/04 expiring 2/28/05.

They're getting trickier and trickier!

I've gotten a couple of Walgreens rebates when I mailed them in late, but I called both times and talked to a csr to ask first. They've been very nice to deal with and they've come through both times. They're the only ones I've tried.

I was recently mislead with one of Circuit City's promotion. I have placed orders for merchandises on the day of rebate deadlines and had my rebates fulfilled. However, the last stuff I purchased from Circuit City was advertised with two rebates on their site, so I thought that as long as I order by the day, I will meet the requirement. I recently received a letter from Young America informing a rejection of a rebate submission because the product I purchased was outside the required purchased date. I was confused and found out my order confirmation was dated a day later on the day I actually purchased the product. I then did some research and found out that they date the transaction according to eastern time (whereas I live in the Pacific time zone). Now I am aggravated because I cannot return the product (although it still has the UPC), and I am out $25. What makes me upset is that the rebates were still advertised when they should have expired and pulled. Does anybody have any suggestion on what I can do?

Cliffnotes:
Bought product around 10:30 PST on the web on the last day of the required purchase date
Filled out rebate form and sent them
Received a rejection noting that product was purchased outside the required date
Realized they date transaction according to EST
Also realized they still advertise the rebates on the web although they were expired and should have been pulled.
Sucks getting mislead and ripped off.

Anybody submit a $12 rebate for Ridata 100 pk DVD+RW, from around Feb 25? I bought through newegg, who had the rebate link on the product page, and now I've been informed that my purchase was prior to the rebate dates. They say they're mailing me more info, but its been a couple of weeks. Just get the same form email over & over again.

If anyone has a copy of this rebate, I'd be grateful.

Wow... Newegg is becoming a rebate bastard like Tiger Direct. Bought a OCZ 450 watt PSU with $15 MIR. I sent everything they asked for using registered mail. I taped the UPC onto the form and stapled my packing slip to the rebate form, yet somehow they manage to "lose" it. What kind of BS is that?

WOW....just got my $40 antec rebate from black friday at fry's(SLK1600).

If you gave up on it, there may still be hope.

I just wanted to post quick that I've been getting worked over on a Gigafast rebate. From the thread here. Basically they say some garbage about it being denied, but don't give the exact reason. I called the 800 number and the girl simply told me to fax my reciept, and that's it. I have no idea where it'll go from here. I will likely have to call back again...
