I sent in for the following rebates but never received any checks?

Audigy 2zs Sound Card $40 (I think) mail in rebate for purchased at Buy.com in late August and sent in the rebate but never received the check.

OCZ mail in rebate for $40 purchased back in July and never received the mail-in rebate.

Antec Neopower $25 mail in rebate purchased in July/August(I think).

Has anyone received there rebates yet for these items?

Thanks!

Does anyone know how I go about inquiring about my refunds. I DID make copies when I sent them out. Should I just send the copies with a letter?

It's been awhile since I've ordered anything online, and I can't remember if products purchased over the internet come with reciepts that are eligible for Mail-in-Rebates. Do they?

Unless the MIR you are trying to get requires you to buy the item in a retail store, generally you can use an invoice from an online purchase (or downloadable purchase) as a 'receipt' for MIR purposes.

I was just coming here to post about this. It's supposed to be online, but I still can't submit through rebateshq. I went through the process of contacting customer support through rebateshq last week sometime, but I haven't heard a peep from anyone. I do have a rebate downloaded somewhere that is a mail-in form that my order date fits into. I haven't tried that route yet because the rebate on the product page specifically said it was an online rebate. I'm just getting ready to e-mail Amazon about it.

Here's a sort of a "tip" I guess, it (unfortunately I guess) works for me. It's pretty pathetic when one has to "blow a gasket and freak out" in order to get what's DUE to them. This involves www.rebatestatus.com (inquiry@cs.rebatestatus.com & customer.service@cs.rebatestatus.com) and the Altec GT5051 5.1 speakers from Buy.com.

After one month their site still said it "had no record of your submission". I emailed them, and was told I had to mail it in AGAIN or fax it. I told them I'm not about to toss another stamp, and I didn't have a way to send faxes, so I emailed the info to them.....SIX TIMES. EACH TIME, even after sending them the info again EACH TIME, I received the exact same reply verbatim:
"We have been unable to locate your rebate submission in our system. If you have retained copies of your rebate submission form, sales receipt and proof of purchase or UPC, please fax or mail these documents to:..."

They had apparently "tagged" my mail address to send out that identical reply for each email I sent, regardless of the content of the email, because I also removed that tracking # ("Please do not remove your unique tracking number! xxxxxxx")!!

So I started a new email thread all over again, containing the receipt, form, UPC, etc., AGAIN, this time with a different email address, and with details on what has been transpiring so for with the BS. First reply was them telling me to CALL them. I said "why the hell do I have to call??". They then replied telling me to call Buy.com!! My response was "What does Buy.com have to do with this?? It is not they that's handling the rebate, it's YOU, rebatestatus.com!! Why all the BS and run-around??" Believe it or not, they actually replied with:
"Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the status of your rebate. In order to do a thorough search and locate the correct submission record, more information is needed. Please provide us with the following information:..."
.....of which "following information" is what I had sent them now EIGHT times previously! This is after about 10 emails now. So, I replied with this:
"I HAVE HAD IT!!!!! YOU'VE ALREADY GOT THAT CRAP!!!!!!
I'VE SENT IT TO YOU MORE THAN 8 F**KING TIMES!!!! IT WAS
ALSO SENT IN THE FIRST EMAIL I SENT TO YOU *THIS* GO 'ROUND!!!!
ARE YOU PEOPLE BRAIN DEAD??????? YOU JERKS PULL THIS
BULLSH!T ON PURPOSE TO TRY AND GET PEOPLE TO FORGET
ABOUT THEIR REBATES!!!!!! WELL, IT "AIN'T GONNA WORK" WITH
ME!!!! I'LL BE SURE YOU'RE INVESTIGATED BY THE FTC, BUY.com,
AND THE BBB KNOWS ABOUT THIS ANENCEPHALIC ATTEMPT AT
TRYING TO "INTIMIDATE REBATE VICTIMS", AND I'LL ALSO JUST
CONTACT MY CC COMPANY FOR A CHARGE BACK DUE TO REBATE
FRAUD, WHICH WILL HAVE TO BE FOR THE FULL AMOUNT!!!!
"

This was at about 5:30AM CST. Seconds later, that's right, SECONDS LATER, I received this from them:
"Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the status of your rebate. Our records indicate a valid rebate is currently being processed. A check will be issued and mailed to you upon completion of processing.
REBATE AMOUNT:$40.00
Your rebate was entered successfully on 12/11/2005. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for processing from this date.
"

LOL. :disgust: Pretty amazing isn't it, [sarc]"how they somehow miraculously find the info needed" and are able to "read and comprehend emails"[/sarc] after receiving an email like that. Like I said, it's pretty pathetic when one has to blow a gasket in order to get something done with these rebate jerks. They're pretty much all like this. I have a similar issue brewing now with CompUSA (their new online rebate submission area), claiming that none of their own SKU #'s are valid! Time to blow another gasket.

I STILL have not received my rebate from SOYO for a motherboard that I bought at ZipZoomFly. I got an email like 6 months ago from ZZF saying they were taking Soyo to court.

Anyone get their rebate or have any news on this?

For the Fujiplus monitor promo, new egg, august.
You need to call them up and threaten to report them to the BBB and FTC. I have been calling for the status of my claim and they told me just this month that they will start processing them. This is long past the unusually extended 16 weeks they claimed to take to process rebates. By the time I was done with them I had the CSR, Andy, calling me back and not quitting til he reached me to tell me my check will be here by the end of the week, and it was. The check was drawn on a normal bank check with the printed account name as "FUJIPLUS (REBATE CENTER)" and hand written and signed. Call 626-935-1881. Refer to this article by the FTC http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/03/compusa.htm and notify them you will not hesitate to share your experience with them and retailers alike if they refuse to comply.

So I jumped in on the Microcenter 6600GT deal a few months back and apparently, the rebate company is trying to screw me over by saying that I sent in a rebate for the mx4000...

I wouldn't mind except that the rebate for the mx4000 is $30 less than the rebate for the 6600gt..

I called them, they told me to fax them, I faxed them, now the website says that they sent out the rebate for the mx4000...its been about 5 days since I faxed them my info. They told me it would take 3-4 days to reprocess my rebate for the 6600gt. Well I guess they never did...

What do I do?

On a side note, I received my rebate from Fujiplus. It was quite easy, all I did was to email them and call them once....

I'm curious why those of you having problems don't contact your CC company and get a charge-back.

I too had a problem with a NewEgg rebate, it was only 10 bucks and was on memory. I emailed them a dozen times and never got a reply. But finally the rebate arrived.

Here is the response from FTC.regarding Min maw internation inc. Fujiplus 19"LCD .$50.00.Rebate from July.when will you send an email to FTC for your 50 buck?may be FTC would take action!
Dear jenkit p:

Thank you for your correspondence to the Federal Trade Commission regarding rebates offered by companies. Rebate offers and coupons are, among other things, a form of price competition. While some manufacturers or sellers may conclude that simple price discounts will attract customers, others may believe that a rebate or coupon program will be a more effective means of advertising substantial savings to consumers. In general, no statute enforced by the Commission addresses the decision to adopt a rebate or coupon program. Thus, promoters of rebate or coupon plans use their independent business judgment in offering such plans to distributors or to the public. However, if a company decides to offer a rebate or coupon plan, it must fully disclose the material terms and conditions of the offer and must provide the promised rebate. If a company systematically fails to do so, it may be engaging in deceptive or unfair practices in violation of Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act.

Finally, you may wish to raise your concerns with the manufacturers or companies who offer rebates or coupons, since many companies appreciate comments from the public about their products and how they are marketed. You should also note that many companies hire independent companies to administer their rebate or coupon programs and are eager to hear about their performance.

The Federal Trade Commission acts in the public interest to stop business practices that violate the laws it enforces. Letters from consumers and businesses are very important to the work of the Commission. They are often the first indication of a problem in the marketplace and may provide the initial evidence to begin an investigation. The Commission does not resolve individual complaints. The Commission does, however, act when it sees a pattern of possible violations developing. The decision to open up an investigative action depends on how widespread the practice is, how many consumers are hurt, how much harm is done, and how much evidence we have. We must also determine how much staff time and effort we can put into each case, and we must concentrate on the most urgent.

We appreciate your taking the time to write

I would like to applaud HP/Compaq manufacture rebates. I've done several of these rebates from the Office Depot clearance deals and they are by far, the BEST rebates I've ever encounter so far. Online submission, form you can fill online and submit, AND 4 week turn around. No BS, straight forward job. Why isn't all the rebate house like that?

I would also like to B*TCH slap Staple's EasyRebates. It is anything BUT easy. They've been screwing around with my rebates. Online tracking shows "Validation in Progress", but after 4-5 weeks of staying in the same status, I called. Guess what? "I'm sorry, but we never gotten the information forwarded." WTF? How can it show up online and not show up under your own system? This went on for 2nd and third consecutive rebates I've done with EasyRebates. I think they're starting to bankroll on their own advertising and now starting to walk the dark side.

I got denied yesterday from a 7800gt I bought off tiger direct a $50.00 rebate through the company on-rebates. I sent it out and filled everything out perfect I even made a copy of what I sent out and they said the reason I was denied was because I didn't have a signiture, well I have proof I do and im trying to call them and argue with them but they keep giving me the run around saying its too late. NEVER BUY from these companies again!

Make copies of all your stuff. I have problems with all my easy rebates at Staples. I had to call, fax and resubmit two rebates. One for $20 and another for $50. All that hassle and I probably broke even. I 'm done with rebates!

Today is the final day of week 6 of my waiting for $116 in Staples Black Friday rebates. All were "Easy Rebates". Site says it takes up to 6 weeks to receive the rebate.

All of them still show as "Validation in progress". :|

I have faith, still, in the "Easy Rebate" thing. But it's starting to dwindle...

I would file a CC chargeback against tigerdirect. IIRC on-rebates is in the same company family as tigerdirect. I would tell on-rebates that you have filed it. This may wake them up enough that they will give you your $50.

My take on the BF rebates is that Staples made the return period for holiday purchases (beginning 11-24) end on January 7, and so they are waiting until that date to send out checks to avoid people getting the refund and then returning the item. That may be completely wrong, but it sounds logical. See if things move after the 7th.

I bought a pen drive from buy.com and somehow that was associated with greatfun. The drive had a rebate but the form had no mention of greatfun. But now I have a recurring $9.99 charge on my cc. Greatfun not so funny

I will attempt to get the charge removed asap.

I also found this
Buy.com has partnered with ?Trilegiant - Great Fun? which is a total rip off company. Buy.com shares your billing information with this company and once you send the rebate form, ?Great Fun? will automatically enroll and start billing you for ?Great Fun? membership for $9.99 every month.
Please be aware of this before you send any of the rebate forms.
