2 GB USB 2.0 Flash drive $7 after rebates and Google CO
After several people posted I decided to go for the deal, which involved two rebates. So, I ordered on the first day the deal was offered, 12/21/2006. The PDF rebate forms state that you have to mail in your applications for the rebates within 30 days of your order, so for me the deadline is January 20, 2006.
Today makes 2 weeks since the order date and it's not shipped. I contacted Buy.com and they said
"We apologize that the delivery of your order is taking longer than expected. Due to a setback from the manufacturer, item #202426782 on your order is temporarily sold out."
I have the option to cancel, but I like the deal so long as I get my rebates. Can Buy.com and/or the manufacturer be reasonably expected to extend the rebate deadlines in view of the inexplicable and uncalled for delay in shipping? After all, I ordered on the first day and if it was sold out I should have been so informed. So far, my inquiries about these issues have only gotten me boilerplate back about the "setback." On top of that, since I ordered through Google Checkout, my credit card has already been charged. Any concepts concerning what I should or might do in that circumstance? Thanks!
