No, you may not tell me where I can do business. I made it very clear in my post, that my concern is keeping a list of disreputable businesses that offer and administer rebates. I can use that list in any way I choose and do business where ever and however I wish.

I have recently received rebates from Office Depot, Ultra, Abit. All these are good! Office Depot took forever though (was for Windows xp Home)

I wish I had done just that and passed on the "good deal" for Pinnacle Studio Plus Titanium in December. The rebate should have been paid last week so I went to the web site to check its status -- nothing there. When I called the rep said she couldn't find anything either and that maybe it "got lost in the mail". When I asked her if she really believed that two separate envelopes just happened to go astray, she started mumbling and said I still had time to resubmit. Since one of the rebates says postmark 30 days after purchase and it's been 45 days, I don't know how that's going to work.

I guess I'll have to send another letter to the FTC.

Ditto with the same exact problem. Just called them up and they validated the second one, said I should have it within 2-3 weeks.

Called 1/19 - I got my second check 1/29.

I purchased Pinnacle Studio 10.5 from Frys.com last October, and sent in the $40 rebate to White Bear Lake, MN. I checked the rebate website www.rebate-zone.com/pinnacle and found that they had all my information, and the rebate had a "received" status. The rebates states that you should allow 6-8 weeks for processing.

Yesterday I called them [(800) 762-9741] , and they acknowledged receiving my rebate in November, but claimed that they had received a lot more rebates than they had expected, and were very busy. It's been 10 weeks since they received the rebate.

A quick Google search shows that this is a common excuse for this rebate company, and they do rebates for a lot of different computer and electronics products.

All of my information is available on their website. How long does it take to electronically print a check and mail it? I smell a scam...

Consider yourself lucky if your submission actually made it into the database. It should be paid by 8 weeks after they finally got around to entering it. If not, file a complaint with the FTC.

The rep told me that I would have to resubmit by mail (they don't have a fax number) then wait another 6-8 weeks for payment. The people working the phones don't seem to know or care that it is illegal to stretch out payment like that. I'm waiting for a callback from a supervisor right now.


It's just like Fry's to get involved with such a sorry fulfillment contractor.

I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this, I hope others can either calm my concern or warn me before I throw $120 down the drain. TD has a lot of deals with CA Internet Suite (which I don't need) but I do need an external case which is free AR here.

2 Rebates from On Rebate (never dealt with them) = $85
1 From Ultra (still waiting for them to send my money for the FAR case and PSU from December) - $30

What do you guys think? I'm patient but I won't stand for getting screwed or being played with.

This is certainly a better place than making up a thread so I'll give you my 2 cents. If all you need is a 3.5" HD enclosure, you can do better than putting upfront 115 + shipping (14.38 for me in CA) and wait for your money. Assuming you get your money back, it's still 10-15 out of pocket for the drive due to the S/H costs. I've done the TD rebates and while some have gotten to me fast, others haven't and I've had to make calls. I am dealing with one right now that was due to me in December and I just got finished making a second phone call to Onrebate today.
A second thought on this deal is the pushing of this CA internet security suite by Tiger Direct. Previous deals with rebates involving TD and CA had to do with filing out the rebates AND remembering to make a phone call to cancel the internet security suite within 30 days or your credit card would be charged 69.99. I don't see any references to this requirement in the deal you linked to but I would still be wary.

Personally, HD enclosures are inexpensive enough that you don't shouldn't have to outlay 125.00 to 130.00 to get one that is free or nearly free, (remember the S/H). My advice is just to spend the 25-30 and buy one from someplace like Microcenter or Newegg that doesn't involve 3 rebates and possibly a cancellation phone call. Also, unless you are partial to Firewire/USB combo enclosures, I just picked up a USB only drive enclosure from Microcenter last weekend that has a one-touch backup button with software for 19.99. Powerspec 3.5" IDE Aluminim enclosure

Yesterday I received my rebate - almost exactly 3 months after they received it.

I cannot believe how bad these "rebate-zone" people are. I mailed 2 envelopes to them on the 11th of December. According to them, one was received on the 5th of January (entered on the 3rd of February) and the other has yet to be entered. Now we all know that it does not take 3 weeks for a first class envelope to get anywhere in the US -- not even during the Christmas crush. Nor do I believe that the second envelope (which just happened to be the "Fry's only" portion) was lost in the mail.

I'm certainly not going to wait 3 months for a rebate that was supposed to be paid 6-8 weeks after submission. These folks should be shut down completely!

Has anyone here received the BFG Technologies rebate for the 7600GT promotion on Newegg that was at the end of December? It was a $65 rebate on the BFG 7600GT. I submitted mine in the beginning of January. It's said the rebate has been processed on the status page but it's been stuck at that status for nearly 2 weeks now.

Your rebate check was mailed on 14-Feb-2007. Please allow at least 30 days for delivery

its been awhile since I've had any issues with a rebate being denied.

here's the info

Evga 8800gts $30 rebate thru parago.

I received an email stating they received my rebate pack.

I goto the status page and it shows as being invalid due to "no upc".

well I know for a fact its there. that's why theres a hole on my video card box. plus I always staple all required paperwork when sending out rebates.

should I have any problems with parago getting this resolved since I sent in my one and only original upc code?

I do have photocopies of all my paperwork including a copy of my upc code.

I guess if all else fails, does complaining to the bbb or ftc persuade them to fix it? I remember doing that in the past with good results.

Parago are not the best that's for sure. I had three rebates in a row (from late last year) sent to them that they said they never received. What are the odds of that??? I called each time to complain and I had to resubmit by fax and I eventually received all three. They are on the lower end of rebates companies IMO. With your rebate, having claimed they never received the UPC code, a simple phone call should take care of it when you mention you have copies of everything. They still might ask you to resubmit. Who know with these guys. Most likely you won't have to file with the BBB or FTC.

Funny thing is the Staples EZrebates, which are paperless submissions, are always on the mark. It's probably because it orginates at the Staples website and the receipt is verified within the Staples system and all parago does is process the check. There's nothing for them to mishandle, or other funny business.

Today (Feb 28) I received an email confirming receipt of my $40 rebate for the Ultra Wizard case from Frys. The rebate was sent to rebate-zone.com in White Bear Lake, MN. I mailed the rebate on Feb 9. Only 19 days for them to get it and acknowledge receipt!

Has anyone heard back about the $50 I/O Magic 16x Dual Layer Double DVD-RW Drive from Circuit City from this past Black Friday? It's promotion #8665 for $50. I mailed it in on 12/15 and have copies of everything but it still doesn't show up on their site. It is processed by www.rebateservices.com. I used their form to email them today after calling and only getting voicemail.

"Due to overwhelming demands, our November Promtions(black friday) are still being processed.The estimated completion time for these promotions are in approximately 3 weeks. We apologizefor the inconvenience."

I checked the website again and its still not showing up. I've sent a followup email asking for a status and if I should resubmit the rebate via email-which is an option they offer.

Is this the problem of Onrebate or Gigafast??? I bought a Gigafast USB wireless adapter and was promised a 30 rebate but it does not look like I will get the rebate.

I emailed Gigafast but most emails are returned with delivery error or not answered. Onrebate does not reply to emais either. I'd probably avoid anything from Gigafast or Onrebate.

In regard to rebate claim LRQDNEHAAXZKBN7K for GF-1049 for $30:

Who was the vendor that you bought the Gigafast item from? You might be able to get the vendor to pony up the rebate for you. I have had this done in the past with Compusa and Fry's was ready to pay up until Sharp finally cut my check.

Thanks for the tip. I tried to contact Micorcenter to see if they would make me whole. I don't get my hope up but I at least want them to stopt carrying the cheating Gigafast products.

I had trouble with a Parago rebate from an Office Depot purchase in August of 2006. I had to resubmit my rebates because it wasn't showing up in the system on Nov 1st. I was assured my rebate would be paid soon after resubmission by fax. I called again on (12-14) to check on why my rebate hasn't been paid but to no avail. I was told to wait some more.
I happened to be talking with a Hann CSR in another forum and he said that Hann isn't responsible for the rebate and I told him I called OD and they said the same thing. How can both sides have nothing to do with the rebate?

He PM'd me the following and gave me an email address to contact:
"If you purchased the unit from Office Depot, that rebate is being offered by their distributor Wintergreen Systems. You can contact Kathy Plake there at kathyplake@wintergreensys.com for any problems with your rebate.

My story is that I received my 100.00 rebate, four days after Kathy Plake from Wintergreen systems replied to my email from 12-16. For those having trouble with their Hann rebate, email her at kathyplake@wintergreensys.com. Hope it helps you.
