Another Rebate Question.

I purchased some RAM from TigerDirect with a MIR that has a purchase expiration date of 06-18-07 (yesterday). I placed in my order at 11:30pm on that day. As soon as I did I realized that the generated invoice displayed 2:30am 06-19-07. Stupid me! I'm on the West Coast, TD is in the East. The online form doesn't allow me to cancel. D'oh!

Called up this morning in attempt to get it cancelled. No luck. CSR told me item has shipped. She told me to refuse shipment, but I can't really do that because my Apt office handles packages while I'm at work.

Do you guys think there is any chance that I can make this rebate good?

I'm waiting on the EVGA 8600 GT 30 dollar rebate from the sale Circuit City had back at the begging of may. I sent the rebate out on may 7 and have yet to get any sort of notification whether it was received, accepted, declined or anything. I tried both evgarebates.com and rebatehq.com to see if either one had information about my rebate and couldn't find anything from either. I then tried calling their toll free number for help and the customer service representative said he couldn't help me because I didn't have the promotion code for the rebate since I never copied it down before I sent it to them.

Basically, does anyone else with the same rebate know what the promotion code is? It's been seven weeks since I sent out the rebate so I'm getting a bit impatient.

It is very unlikely that you will be able to get the rebate; the rebate processors are supposed to stick to the printed requirements. The only way you might get the rebate would be by going through a long drawn out process with the manufacturer and it really wouldn't be worth it.

You can definitely refuse a package without being there.
The first thing you should do is leave a note with your apartment manager -- a 5X7 index card in big letters with the date, the sender's name and your signature will do. Also, iIf the item is coming via UPS, call them up with the tracking number and tell them you will be refusing the package. If it comes via USPS or if UPS delivers it anyway, just write refused on the package and leave it in the office to be picked up. As long as you don't open it, they will return to the sender.

Always make copies of everything you send away -- rebate form, UPC, receipt. The one time you are in too much of a hurry to do it will the the one time you have a problem with a rebate.

In this case, call Circuit City Customer Service and see if they can find the promotion code for you. If Parago doesn't have you rebate in the system by now though, you will still need to provide copies and an indication of when it was mailed.

Thanks, Athena. Fortunately, the package will be UPS. I spoke to UPS CSR and was told to call back Monday morning on the day of the scheduled delivery. I can refuse the package then.

*Invalid by Third Party Rules*

I called staples and they want me to come in with the paper work and they will refer it to corporate. This is a waste of my time and gas though.

must say, atleast you can easily track if they f*cked ur rebate. other rebates leave you in the dark for the months until they bother sending the check.

They mailed me a $15 rebate check. It was for a 7600GT purchased from Newegg.

this "up to $X" stuff is systematic. eVGA and Parago do this all the time. The rebate will clearly state that it is for $50 for instance, and they will insist it is "up to $50" and your product is only for $10. Absolute fraud.

Happening on a lot of rebates from eVGA and Parago right now.

I dont know if its appropriate to post this here, but I am not sure where I should post it. I am not sure if you guys are aware of the just expired rebate offer on the Corsair HX520 PSU on buy.com ($99 - $10 Rebate). This rebate ended on July 16 (Monday). I bought it early July 16th, so I would still qualify for the rebate, but being careless of me, I forgot to download the rebate PDF that's on their website. Now, the PDF file is no longer online and I havent received any feedback from Buy.com Customer Service regarding my request for the rebate form.

If someone who happened to have purchased the corsair PSU and has the rebate form in PDF format, could you please send it to my e-mail.

Very much appreciated. My email is extremeops(at)charter.net

Darn. I actually have the rebait saved on my computer, but somehow forgot about it. I looked it at the day after I ordered the PSU, realizing that the rebate expired the day before I ordered it.

I bought a Cavalry 500 GB external HD (CAUE37500) in early April off buy.com, and there was a $25 rebate. It's not 3+ months, and hadn't received my check, so I sent them an email a day or so ago and got a reply saying to hit the link at their site. That's one hard to find link (at very bottom of page in tiny type). I hit it, enter my email address and request number (they make you register the rebate request to be eligible, and I'd done that), and it said my request was denied on 4/13/07, reason "NO RECEIPT" ! They never informed me with an email!

Their rebate form said to include "Copy of original store identified dated sales receipt"

In my case, since I'd bought off buy.com all I was provided was the packing slip, and I'd sent them a copy of that. It has all the info requested and I can't imagine why they'd deny me. I have to wonder if they aren't trying to cheat me out of my rebate using an insane technicality! I just sent them an email:

to: <rebate@cavalrystorage.com>
subj: Re: Status of my rebate, rebate request # 4845

On Sun, 22 Jul 2007 14:15:17 -0700, you wrote:

Your page for my request, # 4845 indicates that my request was denied on 4/13/07, reason "NO RECEIPT." I was not informed of this. I have kept careful records of what transpired. The notes I made to myself concerning the envelope I sent to you says, exactly this:

"Includes form, original UPC's cut from box, copy of invoice. I used the packing slip. I have no other invoice and that looks about as sufficient as I can imagine."

Your rebate form requested "Copy of original store identified dated sales receipt." In my case, it was an online purchase from buy.com. Buy.com provided me only with a packing list (see attachment, the same document I sent you in the envelope). This identifies the store, is dated and clearly indicates the item CAUE37500. Surely this must be acceptable as a sales receipt, since I was provided by none other by buy.com. What else could you possibly require?

Can you get a receipt this way and provide it to them?

Thank you so much for this. I will follow your directions and try to get a copy of the receipt, a download or screenshot or whatever I can get and forward it to Cavalry rebates. They emailed me this morning in response to the email I quoted in my last post:

"Our manager will do a manual review and they can alter your status if yoru
claim is done correctly.

Thanks."

Maybe they'll approve with what I've given them (the packing list copy and an attached JPG of the packing list), but I'll follow your instructions and try to get them a receipt. I didn't know that buy.com had this means of getting a receipt suitable for rebates.

Edit: I got the page and took a screen shot of the receipt and attached it to an email reply with the following text:

Thanks. I just found out that I can view my receipt for the purchase by logging into my account at buy.com.

I have made a JPG of the receipt and it is attached to this email. I hope that is sufficient. If necessary, I can print the receipt from the page and send it to you in an envelope. Please advise. I hope the attachment is acceptable. Thanks for your help.

Hopefully they will approve my rebate by virtue of that. I can, of course, if they insist and will allow me, print the receipt and send it to them.

I've got a general question about rebates from NewEgg. I ordered some stuff that asks for a receipt but NewEgg only packs the packing slip. Would a printout of the invoice from the site (under My Account) for the sale qualify as a receipt? The company in question is CoolerMaster.

I believe the invoice you print out is what you send, but you can always try calling the phone number on the rebate form for clarification as to what they want.

Send in both and you're covered. I think that is what I did the last time I had a Newegg rebate.

I send in both the printed online invoice and packing slip if it asks for a receipt. If it specifically requests the packing slip then I only send them the packing slip.

Just wanted to let everyone know that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Buy.com in Superior Court for Orange County, California, on behalf of consumers nationwide regarding the Connect3D rebate issue.

I don't have any more details at this time. I have no idea how long this will take to get through the court system, what kind of settlement might be explored, etc. It would all be a matter of speculation right now, since the case was just filed.

But the attorneys involved believe we have an excellent case, and are optimistic about the outcome for folks who are owed the Connect3D rebates.

FYI, Rebate-Tracker.com sports a new look and updated search. One downside, all passwords were reset to ensure security as part of the rewrite, so you will need to have the site send a new one and then you can change it.

I just felt like adding something positive to the rebates thread - Tamron has the best rebate processing ever. At the beginning of the summer, I bought 2 lens, both with $10 rebates. I sent them off the day I got them and within a week, I had 2 checks in my hand from Tamron.
