Sorry to announce that the previous round of our continuing threads have disappeared for unknown reasons, so here we go, again.

Are your rebates coming? Are there problems or delays getting them?

Post the latest information about various rebates, here. If you want your posts to be helpful, keep them factual. If you believe there is a problem with a specific rebate, do your homework and learn the facts before you post. DO NOT speculate about what may or may not be happening.

The most helpful posts include:

1. Verified contact information (mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, names etc.) for rebate sources. Active links always help.

2. Accurate details of the kinds of proof of purchase and other documentation required (UPC codes, receipts, etc.).

3. Significant updates and changes in any of the above info.

This thread is for sharing helpful informatation with your fellow members. Please DO NOT just brag about the rebate you got, or moan about the one that got away, without contributing to the discussion. We have a thread for that.

Anyone bought the D-Link router from Amazon in August and claimed the $30.00 rebate? Geez, I sent out my rebate in August and it is the wau overdue now. I tried to call the toll free number listed on the rebate form (877)776-5705, but the number never works at all. Seems like my rebate is in jeopardy now! :|

Update: Intel Pro PC Camera $70 Office Depot Rebate

I finally got my check today for the rest of the rebate, direct from Office Depot (it was labled "Customer Satisfaction").

I got this only after sending a complaint email to: orders@officedepot.com

I basically told them that their $70 rebate promotion was deceptive advertising, since
their rebate form said nothing of sending two rebates (one to Intel and the other to Walled Lake, MI).
They were pretty nice about it processed it pretty quickly, about 10 days.

I recommend anyone who did not get their full rebate to do the same.

Thanks for the thread again MODs. I will also post rebate tips.

First of all:

REALIZE how much money you have floating around in rebates. Best Buy, CompUSA and other companies tend to charge hefty out-the-door prices and then give you big-dollar rebates back. This gamble works for them because a known percentage of people will forget to send in the rebate, or send it incomplete. The rebate companies make money by floating interest on your FREE LOAN that you give them for 4-8 weeks. The retailer also counts on that percentage of fools who will forget/screwup the rebate so they can keep the inflated retail price for items that you walked out the door of the store with. Act accordingly as it is YOUR money they are holding up!

TIP: While you are waiting to send out rebates for multiple items, scotch tape the individual rebate receipts to the boxes of the items you are submitting rebates for. This way, you can be sure NOT to lose those damn slips of papers as long as you don't chunk the boxes. Use scissors or a sharp knife to cut the receipts off when you are ready to send out rebates. It's pretty easy to see rebates stuck to boxes instead of under piles of papers, in plastic bags, etc. Make copies of everything and also use a calendar program or Yahoo! to remind you when 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc. has expired. Write down the 800-number of the rebate service center along with the reminder so you can call if you have problems.

Make copies of everything and also use a calendar program or Yahoo! to remind you when 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc. has expired. Write down the 800-number of the rebate service center along with the reminder so you can call if you have problems.

The easiest way to manage rebates is to use a program like Rebate! Rebate! (new download site) or Rebate Tracker. You can instantly see how much you have outstanding, which rebates haven't been mailed yet, which are overdue, and those that are pending payment. If you keep scanned copies of all your documentation, you can load the name of the scan file in the rebate record and have everything in one place.

I back up my data base and all the scanned documents onto a CD once a week so I'm sure that I'll always have everything I need to follow up on the rebates.

Anybody know where I can find the Staples / PNY 128MB Memory $20 Rebate? I'm guessing it should be at www.staplesrebates.com or www.rebateshq.com, but I can't find it. Also, I cannot find the Hi-Tech 50 CDR $15 Rebate that was also advertised at Staples...any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
Fiend

Hi-tech is not a Staples rebate, you have to ask for the rebate form, for me the form was stick to the box. Could not get the free after mir PNY so I don't know, but for some Staples rebates (like Dymo, Greeting card) they were not listed in Staples site, thus you can not register online and get tracking number.

Anybody got their Digital Research 52X CD-ROM rebate yet? This is a deal about 3 months ago at BestBuy. It should be free after rebate. I heard about this company got stink reputation regarding rebates after I cut the Codebar off and mailed it out without making a copy! Now guess what! Surely I didn't get my rebate so I called them, first time they told me they can't find my rebate form but they might have it somewhere in the computer system, second time they said they don't have it and asked me for a copy of it.

Anybody went through these Bullshit?

Could anybody kindly post the rebate form and the UPC Codebar if you scaned it? By the way, are the Codebars identical for the same product?

Fiend: the hi-tech was for Friday morning only, B&M only, and they only gave you the rebate slip ("original only accepted") to control the 4 hour window.

Recieved $50 from Staples for the Memorex scanner. Sent 11/1/01, check printed 11/20/01, received 11/24/01. Good service there!

I got this during the Friday morning deal, and they were handing out rebates for the PNY Memory, Memorex Scanner, and the Epson Printer, but nothing for the Hi-Tech....I guess I will have to go back and see if they have some. Like I said, I *do* have the PNY memory rebate, but I figured it would be online since it's a rebateshq/McAllen, TX rebate. I always like to enter them online when possible for easier tracking.....

Finally received the Logitech X1 Speakers $40.00 rebate from Staples...this was the longest I have ever waited for a Staples rebate; they usually come very early.

Mailed: 8/22/01
Received: 11/24/01
Called: twice
Total time: 12 weeks

Received my Logitech Soundman today as well. Over the past three months, my many other Staples rebates have been averaging less than siz weeks - this one kills it. Might be due to the fact that Logitech was involved, as their name was on the check, next to Staples.

Sent - 8/20
Due - 10/20
Received - 11/24

In case there was EVER a doubt, I have received 3 of the 4 $30 Intel wireless mouse rebates submitted in September.

Turned out to be a pretty hot deal - buying them for $20 each at CompUSA.

There have been several Viking CompactFlash rebates in the last few months and many people have complained about not receiving them.

I found a phone number for rebate updates on this Viking website rebate page. The phone number is 800-340-0108. I called to get an update and the girl said my rebate had been processed and should be sent out in early December, since it was entered in early October and 8 weeks hadn't passed.

I sent my stuff in early September, so I asked, "it took over 3 weeks for my info to be entered into the system?". She says, "...yeah". So I said, "I guess the rebate form should be changed to say rebate will be delivered in 10-12 weeks instead of 6-8." She says, "...yeah, I guess so".

Entering December 8th reminder into my iPaq right now.

UPDATE***Of course, Viking has not sent my rebate as promised in early December. As of 12/24, they are still "processing" it, even though it has been approved. As I was re-reading the rebate form, I noticed this:

<< 12. Allow 6-8 weeks, after receipt of Rebate request, for processing. If Rebate check is not received within 8 weeks, customer must notify Viking Components by calling 800-338-2361 no later than 03/01/02 or all rights hereunder will expire. >>

Unfortunately, Vikings "customer service" dept is closed until 12/26, so I will have to call back. Nice deal for them, though. They just don't pay anyone and are no longer obligated if the people don't call them back by 3/1/02, even though they have called the rebate handling number and been told it was processed. What a scam!

I had to appeal to Staples on 2 rebates they haven't sent. I have copies of the paperwork I sent, except copies of the rebate forms (I know, that was dumb of me). Can anyone tell me where I might find old rebate forms online? If not that, can anyone provide copies of these rebates from Staples?
$30 MIR on a Epson SC480 Inkjet Printer (from August 2001)... Found!
$20 MIR on a Delta 50X CD-ROM Drive (SKU 441950) (also from August 2001)

I got my Circuit City rebates for that Seiko electronic dictionary (great deal -- my daughter loves it!) and 3 5-packs of CD-RW, not sure from when (maybe September).

I also got a rejection notice from their $5 piece of the DLink stuff I had bought back in August. I was not surprised that they rejected it since I mailed it after the expiration date because their rebate expired before DLink's, but I had sent it to a department that was still valid (for the same rebate offer run 2 weeks later) and hoped they would be decent and pay it, but they did not. Of course they took the same amount of time to reject it as they would have to pay it, and did not return the paperwork. Fortunately, I found a copy of the receipt (I hae the rebate submission somewhere but could not easily find it) and took that and the rejection letter to my local store where I have recently become rather friendly with my local manager. He refunded the $10 (plus tax, since it came off the original transaction) to my credit card. Needless to say, I was thrilled. I really did not want to end up not getting the $10 since the Ethernet cards are useless to me now that I've gone wireless. With this success under my belt, I need to go to CompUSA and get them to pay 3 of my rebates.

Got lots of stuff to mail in, I even picked up 2 of the surge protectors at CC today since you could get both on the same form, to add onto what I picked up on Friday and last week at CompUSA.

Hey, did any of you guys that got the Staples rebates for XP get yours in post card form? I.E. no envelope, just the rebate check in your name. I did and don't like that. Someone could easily steal them and cash them. One of them is $200.
