I was checking the status of my latest Staples rebates and found where they invalidated my $50 rebate for the PD 16x10x40x CDRW on Black Friday. They said I did not purchase it on the specified date (11/23) when I in fact I did. I called them up on the Staples rebate hotline and a live body answered on first ring (surprise) then when I explained problem they said they would validate it (surprise). It's in a processing status online now.

Got my $50 BestBuy 60GB WD today too. If they are this fast with all the BB rebates they have my business.

Received a postcard from them yesterday stating that I was missing a UPC from the Black Friday PNY/20 Gig deal. That's
a load of BS. I have copies of everything that I sent to them.
They will get a mouthful from me today when I go to work and can call them from my desk.

Not yet, but online status says they mailed mine 12/10. Check your status at www.rebatestatus.com. It's listed under "Multiactive Software". Even though we sent it to Canada the rebate is being handled by CPG out of Pheonix, AZ. >>



I got mine 12/16. I was worried since it went to Canada and had no contact info.

Omagh, it seems this happened to everybody for the PNY Memory rebate. Call the Staples rebate center and let them know. They should validate it on the spot. For more info, read some of the earlier posts concerning this (in this thread).

I had almost the same experience, but in my case the Pacific Digital CDRW was valid, and the Epson 480SXU was initially deemed INVALID by them...I purchased both items over the phone on 11/23, and they were both on the same receipt, with the purchase date circled. I made a quick call to the rebate center and the status was immediately changed to VALID for the printer, without question. Staples is very good about these things.

]Staples Black Friday PNY Update
Called the rep yesterday and she updated my status to active. Said to expect the rebate in about for weeks.

I see that I have six rebates (all fairly small) that I have to call about. Oldest is for a SAKAR keyboard way back in May.
Alwasy get the stall from them. Now to file a complaint with the BBB, the FTC and the IFTC.

These were TYs... checked wheresmyrebate.com and it only shows my Visiontek GF3Ti200 rebate from BB BlackFriday.
No luck on the WD rebate for me...

BTW, the number to call on the rebate... 800-390-2344... nobody picks up.

HaHa your kidding right ? You are asking about a CompUSA rebate after only six weeks! Check again in about two months. Unlike Staples and others, the wheresmyrebate group automatically assigns a check date 8-12 weeks after the date they the process your rebate and not the day it was received. It can easily take four to six weeks before they actually enter your rebate into their system and even then there are no guarantees. 99% of wheresmyrebate employees are non-English speaking employees from south of the boarder(a PC statement) and can't speak let alone read English. If your rebate is not showing at their site, chances are pretty good that your name was mis-spelled when entered into the rebate processing system.

Get the $5 rebate from Best Buy for the D-link network card DFE-530TX+.
Sent 11/30, recieved 12/19. Two and a half week!
(However, still has $10 from AZ, i guess MIR)
BB is now the number one rebate "best" store (for rebate send to calais, ME). Beat Staples.

Need help ASAP! They claimed they'd never received my supporting documentation for SOUND WORKS DIGITALS. As Staples never screwed me up before I sent it by regular mail and never obtained a proof of mailing. Even worse, the copy of UPC I made doesn't read right as it only has 10 digits: 56129 62130. I don't know why since there should be 12 digits. Anyway, they agreed to validate it if I give them the UPC code over the phone. I know that many of you, guys, are way better organized than I am, so would you please PM ME THE UPC CODE FOR THIS ITEM?. Your help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

Several hours spent this morning on the phone about very old rebates.
One from April... SAKAR keyboard bought at OfficeMax.
Called OM corporate and spoke with CSR there. Fed up with the runaround at the rebate site. The
rep had me fax the info and said that he would take care of it.


Had another call with CSR at BB. We tried conferencing in the Rk-Byte memory CSR but with two different numbers
we couldn't get through. She too had be fax the info and will take care of it personally.

Both of the CSRs will see my notes written all over the paperwork. Dates I called and remarks quoted from the
rep on the phone. At least they will see how many times I have called about my rebate. When I next speak with either
of them I will ask for a GC to compensate me for all the time that I have wasted.

Several other old ones too. All seem to be processing now. Give it another month I will call the retailer.

Still not too bad with my rebates only about $30.00 that is very old and I should get those by the actions above.

Brings back recent memories. I fought to get my $10 BB RK-Byte rebate for a crappy 64MB stick from back in may. I finally talked to someone in BB Customer Relations and related my horror story. He took pity on me and sent me two $10 GCs.

Rebate form says 6 to 8 weeks...8 weeks for me is Friday the 21st...I'll be calling them right after Christmas. 5 bucks I can let slide, 100 bucks is an entirely different matter. :|

Question about MSN Passport Rebate:

You are supposed to get an email confirmation for the MSN Passport rebate correct? How long does it take for MSN to send this confirmation? I ordered a camera 3 days ago but I have not received any confirmation. I thought I would get the rebate confirmation once the camera shipped, but I still havent gotten it. Is there a problem or is this typical? When should I expect my rebate confirmation?
