I was wondering the same thing the other day so I called the rebate center and talked with the CSR who said I should call QPS. So I made several long distance phone calls to their STUPID automated system. I finally hit the number for accounting and asked about rebates and got transferred to Felix. He said the rebate has not been processed because the rebate was extended. He said he would fax my information to the rebate company and get it issued.

Got my $12.99 memorex free keyboard form BB maine -- 2 weeks tops !!!!!!!! Has anyone got the rebate for norton anti-virus alsng with tax-cut or turbotax. The $30 mail in rebate with taxcut says norton UPC no photocopies and says an additional repbate available to norton upgraders but requires separate submission. The upgrader rebate also requires norton UPC no photo copies. What to do?? I know my dad already got a rebate rejection form norton on this one (rebating runs in the family) Any words of wisdom before I mail this in?

I also have only received one of the two $30 rebates. The "MFG mail in rebate" and the "CCity mail in rebate" are for identical amounts and sent to nearly identical addresses (different program numbers and po boxes). How can I tell which one arrived?

From what little experience I've had with CC, it seems like they're reliable in getting the checks out to you, although they're super slow. That was over 3 months to get from the day I mailed it out till the day I received it.

I have two more rebates with them. I'm sure I'll be getting them some time next year.

simply amazing.. in recent memory, this has to be the most painless rebate i have done. i did have to go down to the p.o. since i didnt know how much postage was to send to canada. but 4 weeks after submitting (so really 3 - 3 1/2 weeks cuz it takes time for mail to get there) when their rebate states 10 to 12 weeks, i get my rebate check.

Very good company to deal with in that respect. hopefully, ill have the pleasure of dealing with them in future hot deals.

Received the $20 BB D-Link router rebate from 11/25. It looks like they approved the router but maybe not the NIC. If I don't get the $5 NIC rebate this week I'll call them up.

Gotta love this one. Received a letter from TCArebates that contained a $10 rebate, a $10 CompUSA GC card and a signed letter of apology from the CompUSA "COO and president of Stores". The letter said that they were late processing this rebate because of their transition to a new rebate center (CPG to TCA). The rebate was for an IBM/Micro-innovations keyboard that I bought back in March. Micro-innovations appeared to be handling the rebate. When I didn't get it I called them and wrote them threatning emails to no avail. Then I called the CompUSA rebate HQ in Dallas and never received anything from them. I finally went to the local store to complain and they paid me the $10 + tax in cash. I guess this extra $20 partially makes up for the time I spent trying to get this rebate.

<< if anyone has problems with OD rebates, just go OD store & talk to the manager or assistant manager & ask for your rebate there in cash or credit to credit card. that is what i have been doing. they should pay u, because the manfacturers pays OD , then OD pays u. your loss on the reebate is OD's profit. so go get your $$$ back >>

Did anybody get theirs yet? This rebate started in mid-late September. And I can't seem to find the extra copy of the rebate catalog I had....does anybody know the number for Fuji?

Just an update for those who bought BOTH the Dlink router and NIC and sent for the rebates (the ones that had the same offer number on both rebate forms). The rebate center has rejected my appeal on the $20.00 rebate stating that they are only allowed to offer ONE rebate per offer per household, even though BEST BUY screwed up and placed the same offer number and address on the printed rebate form. I guess it's off to a supervisor or a Credit Card dispute from here....sigh

(I received the $5.00 but the $20.00 was rejected! :|)

At any rate, it's been 6 months and I haven't received SQUAT. I was a fool though because I didn't make copies of anything. Did anyone buy this and get the rebate? Does anyone have the phone number? If so, please Private Message me.

I had purchased 2 on the same receipt, sent in 2 diffent forms, with different serial #'s on the UPC/SN photostats- and they denied it because same receipt was used twice. Spoke to a very nice person, she imm. agreed that the rebate form said 2 were allowed, and will send out a check . So- just follow up. I had to try a few times because the line was busy, but then was on hold only a minute or two, so the whole thing was a breeze!

For anyone who has sent in the AMD Retail Pro $100 MIR for the Asus motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 1700+, and the memory, when filling out the rebate form online, it asks for the date of the check stub. Does this refer to the date of the check stub you will be sending in as proof of your employment by one of their supported retailers, or is it asking for the date of invoice on which you ordered the bundle?

Please help.

You will need to follow this closely!!! Just because they say they will fix it does not mean they will. I had the same thing happen with another CompUSA deal--I ended up getting the rebates on 2 lexar cf cards from my B&M CompUSA--status on rebates hq still reads denied for both despite promises from csr.

poppagene is right!. I purchased two of the Handspring/Glenayre bundles with the $100 MIR back in September when CompUSA offered the $100 MIR with a limit of two per person. Both my rebates were initially denied for the same reason that m61376 stated above. I called and the CSR said that she would correct the problem and the status did indeed change to processing from denied. However, six weeks later on the date that the check was "supposed " to be mailed out the status was once again changed to denied. I called again and the CSR said she would correct the problem, but this time the status never was corrected. I called once again about two weeks ago to see WTF was the problem and was told that these rebates were on hold indefinetly. I asked why and was told to talk to CompUSA. I went ot the B&M and demanded my $200 from the B&M manager. At first he refused, but the store was full and I was making a scene and people were leaving so he paid me in cash. I later found out that Genayre filed bankruptcy in October and will not pay the rebate and CompUSA has no intent of paying these rebate either since they made an error on the rebate form by not requiring a service activation as the Glenayre promotion requires.

After this fiasco, I checked the status of my other CompUSA rebate and noticed that a few of them that were once approved were now deined for various bogus reasons. These include the QPS $50 & $20 MIRs, WD $100GB 100 MIR, $20 Lexar 16MB, etc. all were changed to denied the week that they were supposed to be mailed! I called the wwheresmyrebate csr and he let it slip that CompUSA has delayed all their rebates until after the first of the year. Well it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out wat is about to happen. CompUSA is going to file bankruptcy and stiff everyone.

Another sign of impending doom for CompUSA is that they have suspended gift card sales as of 12/24. If you have a CompUSA GC, I would recommend that you use it ASAP!:|

READ RIGHT DUSTER - SCAM??

In keeping with the season I'd like to make a nomination to the Rebate Hall of Shame. It's not a big rebate, just $5. It's not an earth shaking product, just compressed air. But my experience with Read Right air dusters purchased at CompUSA is my most frustrating.

Periodically, Read Right offers $5 rebates making their product free. They offered such rebates in February, April, July and September, 2001 at CompUSA and I purchased their product each time and submitted forms.

There was never any issue about the forms. The would show up on the relevant web site as approved, but not mailed. Read Right, according to the processing center, had told them not to pay the checks.

I began calling Read Right in suburban New York in the summer (using toll free number 1-800-327-1237). Then and at least once a month thereafter they would take my rebate info and promise to get right on it. They claimed that they were handling these rebates in house (except for the September rebate that was at the processing center).

I got many excuses for delays. My least favorite was on September 19th when they claimed that their computers were all "not working properly" because of the World Trade Center attack, this from a company located over 20 miles north of the attack on the other side of the Hudson.

Finally, in late November the pre-September checks were mailed by the same processing company to which they were originally sent, not from the company itself (5 to 10 months after submission) and the September rebate was shown as approved on the wheresmyrebate.com site.

Today I called the rebate center to see when the September rebate, approved in November, had been mailed. I was told, I has not been mailed because either Read Right or CompUSA has said no checks are to be mailed for now.

This is exactly what happened earlier this year when Read Right refused to pay the rebates in a timely fashion, and it seems to be happening again. It seems to be ReadRight's way of dealing with their rebates.

So if you see a CompUSA ad and the Read Right Duster is in the "FREE after rebate" section as it was last week, don't be surprised if you are still waiting for that rebate when we are ready to ring in 2003.
