Ok, good news / bad news.....


Good News...

Got two rebate checks from Staples today...
$6 for Maxell CDRs
$50 for Memorex Scanner
Both purchased on 11/1/01

Bad News...

PNY Memory $20 MIR from Staples Black Friday deal now shows up on rebateshq, but with an invalid status... this is the comment... "The 64174ESEM-CS.UPC we received with your rebate submission is not correct."

There was a UPC on the front of the box for the memory, which is what I cut out and sent in (UPC# 751492186368), the only other thing I can imagine they might have wanted was the barcoded sticker that's actually on the memory stick, but I doubt that...

So the question is... did they lose my upc or did I send in the wrong thing? I *do* have copies, so I should be ok either way..

Fiend , you sent in the correct UPC label. Most of the time, this occurs if you enter your rebate request online and mistype the UPC in the online form. A quick call to the Staples rebate center will get your rebate validated.

Got ahold of a lady by the name of Dina at ExpressGroup fro the OD $30.00 Maxtor 30 gig rebate. She first said that I could only submit one rebate for the drive, which I did in fact. Problem is I bought 1 20 gig the week before and submitted a $30 rebate for that, then bought two 30 gigs, one in my name, one in my Dads. So I should see 3 X $30, but, I see only one online. She gave me a fax number and I faxed my invoices and copy of rebate form back to her. Hopefully this will straighten things out. If any one else is getting this run around with OD please post so we can come up with a game plan to spam them with complaints. I will give them a chance and keep on her since I have a name now. If that fails, Alphansx had an idea to write OD's CEO a letter. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will stop using such an inefficient company.

if anyone has problems with OD rebates, just go OD store & talk to the manager or assistant manager & ask for your rebate there in cash or credit to credit card. that is what i have been doing. they should pay u, because the manfacturers pays OD , then OD pays u. your loss on the reebate is OD's profit. so go get your $$$ back

<< I am envious of you folks who have already gotten their rebate checks. I can't get even get a email confirmation that my rebate submission has been received or God forbid a rejection postcard. Checked both Staples and RebatesHq to see if they have showed up and nada and I sent these in like a month ago in separate envelopes. One would think at least one of them would be confirmed as being received by now. I don't understand what the freaking hold up is.

on rebate form, there are email address to put in, i guess this is the way they know it. Also, i think using Staples rebate center's get your rebate and print out the "letter" is a faster way, at least most info are on their system, no need to input by them. Thus no typing error there.

Called Philips today and was today that they sent request to their rebate center for a $40 check cut on 11/27/01. So I should get it by the end of the year. I hope she was telling the truth.

Does anyone know what offer 9801 was for Circuit City? I got a $5 check from them (from the old Richmond, VA address they have not used for a few months). I wonder if it's their piece of the rebate for the D-Link Ethernet cards from back in August? I had gotten a rejection notice (because I sent it in too late, which was correct, because they stupidly made their piece expire a week before D-Link's). I took the letter to my store and the manager refunded me the $10 I was due. But he kept the letter, which makes me wonder if he didn't send it to corporate, and somehow my rebate got approved.

If it's something else, "never mind".

not sure if you gonna get it by the end of NEXT YEAR.
i called Philips @ 10/30/01 and still haven't received anything yet.
you have a better chance for getting the check by filing complains BBB and FTC and IFCC

I looked back in my stack of rebates and could not find a CC offer 9801. My August CC rebate for the $5 D-Link NIC is offer 9960. I found an older CC rebate in the 9700 range from June so maybe 9801 is in July.

What a tale of woe! Anyone that goes into the Hot Deals thread and gets all wet and a woody, should take a little drive through this thread. Jeez, don't think I would have ordered half the stuff I did. I must have 10 rebates out there.....some for $50 ea. The only one I got back so far was $20 for 10 rolls of R11 insallation (yeah I know we need a spell checker for messages). Have to install that rebate program tomorrow.

Digital Research 16x10x40 CDRW $20.00 rebate from Best Buy Black Friday sale. Submitted 11/26/01, received 12/13/01...17 days, wow.

The rebate check was cut by Best Buy...the Digital Research $30.00 rebate on this drive will probably take 6 months now :Q

I got the gift card two weeks ago (in about three weeks time after submission). I didn't think it would go through mainly because the bottom portion of the receipt was missing, it was all crumpled because I threw it in the garbage before finding out that there was an addditional $75 GC offer. Alas, I got it However, there were other people who said that they didn't get theirs yet.

I just called CC's rebate department (888-213-9761 per their website) and they looked up program 9801 and did not find it. I'll just assume it's my "customer of the month" award .

Hey Fiend, I got the same e-mail about the PNY memory rebate as well.
I cut out the UPC symbol on the box and sent that in.
Maybe it was the barcode on the memory, did anyone else get there money back yet about this deal?
I got this during the black friday sale at Staples.

The DR rebate is from IOMagic and will take 6 months unless you call them. I don't do IOMagic rebates anymore but when I did, I waited until the rebate time ended (8 weeks) then called IOMagic. They would release the rebate and start processing it. I usually received a check in a week.
