Does anyone have a copy of the Samsung Syncmaster promotion .pdf file that had an extended date? I was on their website on the 10th or 11th of January and they had the Syncmaster your PC rebate, except the date was extended from 1/1/02 to 3/1/02 (I'm pretty sure it was 3/1, could have been 3/31 though). But now, they have taken it off of their website! This is bad for my uncle, because I told him to buy one in the anticipation of getting 40 dollars off! please email me at joeld100@alltel.net. Thanks!

My 100 rebate for the Skytel/Visor was approved last week and yesterday it still showed approved. Today it showed it was denied, they say my receipt was used twice. I already filed a dispute of charges with my CC company. Probably last time I deal with CompUsa.:disgust:

Hmmmm.....This sounds familiar! Beware of any Handspring Visor Combo rebate from CompUSA. CompUSA is SUX!

I just received $10 rebate from Microsoft for my MS Office Keyboard. I sent it a little before Christmas. What's interesting is... I acutally bought the keyboard back in September of 2001... :Q and found out about the rebate in December. Since I still had my receipt, I decided to send it in... Yeah.. .the rebate form said that the product must be purchased by 2/28/2002... anyway... I am happy...

Just got my $10 rebate for Microsoft Flight Sim 2002. Bought from Amazon 16 Nov 2001 (Friday Sale) for $20, mailed 18 Dec 2001 to Ridgely, MD address. Thanks once again to Microsoft for beating the 6-8 week timeframe.

Yesterday I received three rebates:

$20 for Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator (from Microsoft)
$20 for the D-Link USB camera (Staples)
$20 for the 900 MHz V-Tech Cordless Phone (Staples)

I have to say that all my Staples rebates have been working out great. They really seem to have their act together.

Does anyone have a phone number for RebatesHQ to call that ISN'T just automated. I.e. I want to talk to a real person...

I sent in a rebate for ACCPAC Simply Accounting for $40 which they refused because they said I didn't mail the UPC code. THE REBATE DIDN'T ASK FOR A UPC CODE. It was an upgraders rebate and I mailed in the front page of a manual from a previous version. They have EVERYTHING they wanted, but denied me.

How do I call them to complian and straihten this out? I have copies of everything.:disgust:

Nobody replied to this the first time, so I am reiterating GetReal's question:

---->Has anyone received a New Rochelle rebate check for a CompUSA rebate offer since 12/1/2001?

Hey. After two months the $100 rebate for the Handspring visor (with activelink) from CompUSA has shown up as APPROVED on wheresmyrebate. Of couse the check wont be mailed for another two months, but I feel much better about my chances of getting the rebate now. Unless of course they decide to change it to denied or something. (We're going to mail it to you...Psyche!)

Received $15 rebate for Samsung 50pk CDRs on 1-9-02. Purchased from CompUSA, mailed 9-17-01. This was a good while past due, so maybe it's not a good example.

Also,
Received $20 rebate for PNY memory on 12-26-01. Also purchased from CompUSA and mailed 9-17-01. This one was only about a month past due.

Both were mailed to New Rochelle, NY 10802

Thanks for that confirmation, Dan...makes me feel a *little* better about CompUSA, for now. I've got a couple rebates due / slightly overdue though.

I have just 2 more days to put the Handspring Visor into dispute...I decided to do so, just prior to your post here, to preserve my rights just in case CompUSA doesn't come through...by my count, 8 weeks should mean I receive my rebate around 1/25; by their count, it should be *mailed* 3/6; who knows if it will ever actually come.

Yeh Thanks Danzilla! I only have two New Rochelle/CompUSA rebates overdue to be paid that I have not received yet. One is the Microsoft Money 2002 $19.99 companion rebate and the other is the WD 100GB $100 rebate. Both are CompUSA offers and not manufacturer offers. However, my assistant, the rebate wiz, has over 20 CompUSA rebates from purchases made during their Windows XP release promos in late October that were due to be paid on 12/6/2001 and 21/26/2002 according to the www.wheresmyrebate.com site. None of those rebates have showed up according to her. I would call on her behalf, but I don't think that I could pass a girl even on the phone. I did sit in on a couple of calls she made to New Rochelle, but the resason that they were giving fo the delays were as bogus as the one that they gave me over the Handspring/Glenayre fiasco. They also have some sort of policy that you can only inquire about 3 rebates on one phone call which is also a total crock. Oh well, we will give them another month which will be exactly twice the stated rebate processing time and I guess I will have to do some pro-bono work for her.

Just to add to the above I have received $30 (safe & secure), $15 (samsung 50pk Cdr), $40 & $20 (5-20pks imation CDR), and $50 (norton's systemwork pro) rebates since 1/10/02. All of these were purchased at Compusa.

As a rule I generally allow 1 month past the specified time before I get worried about a rebate. The exception to this rule is IOMAGIC & Digital Research which require a phone call before they will ever pay up.

However, my assistant, the rebate wiz, has over 20 CompUSA rebates from purchases made during their Windows XP release promos in late October that were due to be paid on 12/6/2001 and 21/26/2002 according to the www.wheresmyrebate.com site

Don't count on the 21/26/2002 rebate anytime soon

>>> I would call on her behalf, but I don't think that I could pass a girl even on the phone.<<<

You don' have to pass as a girl to make the call...I call all the time inquiring about rebates that I have put in the name of a relative of the opposite sex. The rebate center has never given me any problem about not being the person who submitted the rebate. As long as you have first name, last name and zip (having the date of submission and full address also helps), they should be able to discuss the rebate with you.

Silent: thanks for that additional info.

It has always been that way for me too. I asked about it a few months back and was told that I have too many rebates in their system, but I submit very few rebates relative to most here. Apparently it is some sort of problem with the BEA WebLogic software that they use. You would forthe price that BEA charges for their product that it would work. However, if this is the only problem that I have to endure with RebatesHQ, it is more than acceptable as they are still 100x better than any other rebate processing house out there.

Hi Everyone-
I also got a rejection postcard from Parago for a Staples rebate from Black Friday, for the $20 128 MB RAM deal. They say I sent the wrong UPC. Big problem is, I was dumb and didn't make a copy of the UPC. Does anyone have a scanned copy I can send into them? Thanks!

"Staples/WinXP Fuji Finepix, etc: All five Staples rebates have been logged at Parago's RebatesHQ.com, almost two months after I mailed them. This is the same outfit that handled the Philips CDRW rebates, so I'm a little nervous." Update: 2 days ago, I received the $200 FinePix rebate and $20 PNY memory rebate (both from the WinXP Staples promo.

Norton AntiVirus 2002 $20 rebate arrived yesterday. Took about 8 weeks. Not too bad. Does Norton handle its own rebates?

Good luck to us all.

Call the Staples/RebatesHQ rebate center. Tell them you submitted the proper UPC. They will manually approve the rebate. This happened to just about everybody (it seems) who submitted this rebate....

Staples/RebatesHQ still has some rebates from black friday date back to late Dec. Either there are too many entry and they are late in processing, or they are actually "slowing down".
I also found it interesting that some CompUSA's rebate (PNY) also go to Parago (RebateHQ) and they are really late while some of the Staples (e.g. $100 monitor rebate) come quite fast.
So my question is: Is the MFG or shop control the rate (how many weeks) that the money will be processed?

Those HP rebate that go to Walled Lake (Office Depot) come quick. But the others just unbeatablely slow. at least 3 months and need to called. So, may be there is something to do with MFG.

I believe it could be either. I've been buying lots of computer stuff with rebates over the past few years and I think I figured out how some of it works. Typically you have a sponsor of a rebate that could be the store or the vendor. This sponsor is responsible for how fast the rebates get paid. In the case of Staples, it appears that they have a very customer focused contract with RebatesHQ. They probably pay the rebate center a higher fee to have their rebates paid in a timely manner, normally 4 weeks, which is quicker than everyone else who uses RebatesHQ. I think it's also the reason that when you call RebatesHQ about a Staples sponsored rebate problem, they will validate a denied rebate real time without questioning you whereas for other rebates they will request you fax/send copies of everything. The sponsor of the rebate can hold back the payments if they are in trouble or they don't have the money. In the other situation, the rebate center can get overwhelmed with responses. It's kinda hard to tell if they are telling you the truth though.

Just my 2. Anybody know for sure how all this works?

Update:
I figured out if just call their number and wait without pressing any numbers in theri automated system, then you get to talk to a live person. The first person couldn't help me, but I asked to speak to a supervisor, who took nice care of me and their webpage already shows that my rebate is being processed instead of invalid.
Supervisor's name was Carla.
