It seems that, as one would expect, rebate fulfillment has slowed down considerably since 9/11. I have half a dozen rebates due today/tomorrow from Best Buy's Black Friday sale...I'm sure many of you do as well. Has anyone received any of the following?:

Visiontek Ti200 $50.00 Mfr. rebate.
Digital Research 16,x10,x40 CDRW $30.00 Mfr. rebate [I got the $20 one 6 weeks ago, but not the $30]
Yamaha 20x10x40 CDRW $30.00 Mfr. rebate
Yamaha 20x10x40 CDRW $20 Mfr. rebate
PNY 110 CDs $10.00 Mfr. Rebate
PNY 110 CDs $14.99 Mfr. rebate

And a seriously overdue rebate from a purchase on 10/26/01 from Staples/Parago:

Dazzle DVC 50 $40.00 rebate.

Anybody get any of these, that were purchased in the same time frame?

Received the Dazzle DVC 50 $40.00 rebate in early December
My Visiontek Ti200 $50.00 Mfr. rebate is due on 2/17/02 according to wheresmyrebate.com, but I expect it in late March based on the other rebates that I have with est check dates on their website that have already passed. (I still have not received my CompUSA/New Rochelle rebates that were listed with an est 12/26 check date on their website)
I have not received either the PNY 110 CDs $10.00 Mfr. Rebate or the PNY 110 CDs $14.99 Mfr. rebate purchased on 11/23

Hmmm. Wonder why they paid yours so early and not paid mine. They've been stringing me along for the past 4 weeks, and today told me that with escalation, it should take yet another 2 weeks. Was yours purchased roughly near Halloween last year???

Purchased at staples.com on 10/24/2001, but did'nt actually receive the order until the week of 10/29. My assistant probably sent the rebate the same day the order was received. This is unusual for a Staples rebate. I would recommend taking the rebate to your local Staples. They have always been able to quickly resolve the few troubles that I have had with their rebates either instantly in-store or by manager escalation to the rebate center.

Hello!

Very strange. i just got a $15 rebate for KB Gear which I can only assume is for the Jamit. i was expecting $20 for the Jam Studio, and $30 for the JamCam. Neither received. So there appears to be hope. The check came from:

Rebate Center Scottsdale, AZ (CONTINENTAL PROMOTION GROUP) Interestingly it is dated 12/05 and expires 2/3/02. I guess they were hoping that these would expire before they were cashed.

It is just one of those cards you get in the mail

I also just received my Dazzle rebate this week, along with the Labtec Webcam from a few weeks later and the $2.99 Endust anti-static spray stuff from OfficeMax from several weeks earlier (all from Parago).

Got the $10 MS piece of the Encarta Deluxe free after rebate deal from CompUSA today. The rest of it is still close to 2 months from shipping from those bozos at TCA. At least MS did not reject this one like they did my Zoo Tycoon.

Submitted on 12/19, received check 1/26 - 5 weeks!

Gave away the scanner as a gift, and STILL made about $10 on the deal (got $40 for the printer, used $20 off $100 coupon to purchase).

Received a $30 Jam Cam rebate on the 23rd. Interesting, since the rebate tracking was pulled from the web site, and both Staples and CC made good on the rebates at the store.

What's with the Microsoft rebates these days - do I need to include the entire boxtop from the product? I do notice that it says it requires "the product box top with product name and barcode clearly identified". I can see where they might want the product name from the glossy part of the box, but the product name is also clearly marked on the label which the UPC is part of.

The reason I am asking.. I have to send in the rebate for the Sidewinder Force Feedback joystick. If they want the whole boxtop with the UPC AND the glossy part where the product name is, you're talking about a 6" square piece of cardboard which is a real pain.

Also, does anyone know if there is a problem just mailing the rebate to the new address in Clifton, NJ, rather than mailing to Ridgely, MD and (presumably) having the post office forward it?

UPDATE: I called the MS rebate #, and they told me I just need to send the label from the box top and not the whole thing. Also, she told me that I should send all of the Ridgely, MD stuff to the new address instead, which is PO Box 5222, Clifton, NJ 07015.

Yea, I'm still waiting for them to send me that rebate claim email. They said they would send it in "late January" and it looks like they're going to put it off until Jan 31. :| Want my $100!

I suspect that we might have to go directly to Staples on this one.

The other one that I worry wonder about is the $40 rebate for the Maxtor hard drive from Office Depot. Express Group, which is processing these, doesn't appear to have their act together.

How long has it been since you submitted the rebate? I did not do this one because I had a bad feeling about the rebate (no phone or URL on the rebate form, unfamiliar address). Have rebates been rejected, or are they just in never-never land?

Wow, congrats. That one didn't look too promising - you're the first person I know of that has indicated they have received the Handspring/Glenayre rebate. What date did you submit the rebate, and do you know what the 'scheduled mailing date' was for your rebate?...that might help the rest of us to know what to expect.

I mailed two handspring rebate forms around 12/30/01. Rebate Center is supposed to mail both of them to me after my calls. but I only received one, the other one is estimated on 03/25.
I will call them again.
