The rebate processing screwed up the Sonic Rio rebate and initially rejected everyone's rebate for the reason that you stated above. After several people initialy complained, including myself, they corrected the problem and you should now get your rebate. Their solution was to create another rebate request for each person with your original info so each person will have two Rio rebates showing in their system. I just used the link you provided to check on my rebate. I have one listed and its the invalid one. The original rebate form didnt have a phone number and neither does the card they sent me. Do you happen to have that number so I can call them?

...Hmmm I have never seen a Best Buy rebate form that did not have at least two phone numbers on it. They print at the register so they should all be consistant. Anyway the number is 1-877-776-4005 and the other number for the Best Buy rebate center is 1-800-849-0444. I you call the Best Buy rebate centerthey are simply going to give you the other phone number above and tell you to call them. Offer# is 31373

Received my 2nd Philips rebate today for 20, net price 39.99. It was for the 12X burner I purchased in Oct from OD. Thanks for the e-mail to Natalia, otherwise it would have been 4+ months until I received my money. It took over 4 months to get my 40 on the 8X burner. Maybe we can go back to buying stuff with Philips rebates now that we have a hot line, straight to the rebate department.

By the way, it was Monday night I sent the e-mail and within 5 days the rebate came by regular mail. The rebate was printed on the 8th, which was Tuesday. Very fast!

Visiontek Rebate

IT GOT DENIED! I purchased it at BestBuy, and came back to get the pricematch, they printed out a rebate form, and now its denied. Anything I can do about this?

For those who were denied on the $5 or $20 BestBuy rebate for the D-Link Router or NIC from 11/25, blast them an email HERE. I just did. This is my first step. I will also call their Customer Relations number and go to their store to complain. I sent them the email to make sure someone at corporate knew how lousy their rebate call center handled this problem.

Here's the text of the email I sent them:

I would like to comment on the poor customer service I have received from your BestBuy rebate call center at 800-849-0444. Myself and other BestBuy customers who purchased the D-Link router and network card during the week of 11/25/01 have been denied on one of the two rebates for these products. There is no indication on the register or online rebate form that you can only get one BestBuy rebate for one of these items. However, we have been denied. Both of the reps I talked to at your rebate call center agree that there is a problem with the way this rebate is setup in the computer system. However, they nor the "escalation group" that investigated our claims had the power to correct this problem even though they knew our rebates were valid. The only advise they could give us is to call the BestBuy Customer Relations number at 800-369-5050 option 5 or go back to the BestBuy store we purchased it from and complain to them. The rebate call center advised me that a denial letter will be sent but I have not received it yet. I am waiting on it before I go back to the store to complain. Whoever setup this new rebate call center and did not give them the power to address obvious errors did a really poor job and should be questioned. I thought BestBuy was going to be one of the best at sending out their rebates in a timely manner when I began receiving rebates several weeks after I sent them in. It looks like I am going to have to downgrade BestBuy if you make mistakes and cannot correct them. I will be thinking twice about purchasing products from BestBuy in the Futur

There's gotta be a reason it was denied. I also purchased mine in advance and pricematched it later. Mine was approved a couple weeks ago, so it seems a denial would have nothing to do with the PM. Find out why it was denied, then re-submit.

FINALLY got a $30 rebate in today from something i bought at Circuit City on 9/10/2001. today is 1/14/2002. so that's 4 months. to be honest, i don't recall what i bought. its listed as "PDC/CIRCUIT CITY REBATE". checked records and it was a 12x cdrw. oh yea. =)

but i'm still waiting on the Compusa WinXP launch rebates. $40 + $60 + $5 + $3 + $100. that was purchased 10/25/2001 and is approved but not mailed until 1/27/02.

*only* 3 months. lucky me.

don't these rebates specify "6-8 weeks" etc?? can we sue these people for false advertising or what??
