Philips Rebate and ON TIME !!!!!! Did the Sun rise in the West today or what ??? Actually its a bit of a lie too cos this miracle occurred upon prompting Philips and not due in part to any sympathy from Philips..this is the Philips Acoustic Edge Sound card rebate of $20 for a BB purchase on 11/10/01..during the fiasco of the CDRW rebate, I looked up my rebate form for the sound card and I see the same rebate center listed that did NOT handle the Philips rebate anymore..sigh !! thought it was a case for Natalia Russ again and so called up the infamous 800-531-0039 Philips Customer care # three days ago on (01/12/02) and needless to say, after being on hold for 35 mins, get a lady that assigns me a new case number as the rebate center was 'overwhelmed' with requests - Yeah right, overhwhelmed, my a** !! But miracles of miracles, the rebates in my mail today (01/16/02)..and so thats a turnaround time of about 8 weeks for a Philips rebate !! and as mentioned on the rebate form..I cant believe it but the checks there to prove me wrong...now if only my Philips monitor rebate shows up the same way !!

I have a few questions. I bought two sticks of RAM at BB when they had the 256MB of Crucial DDR for $25 AR. They printed two rebate receipts, and the fine print said "one per address", so I filled out the two forms. I sent one to my dorm room, and the other to my home. I used the my name for both, since it said per address, not per person. Will this be cause for them to cancel both rebates?

For those who bought the 100GB hard drives at Sam's Club, what was your turnaround? Is there a site that I can use for tracking this rebate?

Philips 8xCDRW $40 farce: Haven't received my check, so called Philips CS center. Got the spiel about "consolidating rebate operations yadayada." Was told that "all checks will be mailed out in January, 2002." Sure.

CompUSA TDK VeloCD 12XCDRW $50 rebate: Wheresmyrebate.com promised to send check last October, but still no check. This is the second worst rebate I've encountered (Worst ever was the EZonics CrapCam for $20--I'm still waiting after 2.5 years).

Digital Research 52x CD Drive: Mailed August 01, no response . . . Have to go to www.iomagic.com to inquire.

Staples/WinXP Fuji Finepix, etc: All five Staples rebates have been logged at Parago's RebatesHQ.com, almost two months after I mailed them. This is the same outfit that handled the Philips CDRW rebates, so I'm a little nervous.

Staples/Maxell 9 pack color CDR $5 rebate: Received check within 6 weeks. Cool.

Circuit City/Sony WEGA TV $50 Gift Card rebate: Received check within 6 weeks. Awesome. (In general, my Circuit City rebates have been processed very fast!)

Has anyone got ther PNY 128/256 $10/$15 rebate from staples?


I bought the PNY memory like many here during the 12/20-12/24 promotion period which was in their flyers. The 128meg had a $10 rebate and the 256meg had a $15 rebate. When you go online however they seemed to only have the old rebate certificate (which I believed expired on 12/15 or something like that) which i'm sure many of you filled out also. Well, I checked my status today and low and behold it says 'They are sorry but I didn't purchase during the valid rebate period". What a bunch of crap! Anyway, I do have the flyer still because for some reason I thought staples might try to pull this crap on me. If many of you check your rebate status and get the message I got I will try to scan the ad when I get a chance.

If you use the same name and order at the same time it depends on which rebate company. I know the company that runs staples rebates has no problem. TCA rebates does not like it all, just depends on who you sent it to.

Hi,

Did anyone here get the Digital Research 16/10/40 CDRW from Best Buy during the day after Thanksgiving sale? It had two rebates, one for $30 (sent to Irvine, CA) and another one for $20 (from Best Buy, sent to Calais, ME).

I got the $20 already, but no word on the $30 yet. I was wondering if anyone have a contact phone number and/or website for that $30 rebate so I can track it. When I made copies of my rebate forms I accidentally cut the last few lines on the rebate from so I don't have the phone number given.

I havent received the PNY rebates from BB black friday yet. However last week they showed up on rebatesHQ.com (I mailed them in first week of Dec). Both of them show up.

Wheresmyrebate.com is very slow in processing rebates and apparently they make a lot of errors in typing the names. One of my rebates I sent for Altec lansing IBM 345 from OM for $30 in october just showed up on the system. It said check mailing date was 12/25/01 and I never recd it. so called CS and she told me that teh manufacturer has postponed it by a month and it wil be mailed on Jan 25.

So teh best thing to do is wait for Wheresmyrebate.

Also did anyone get $12.00 MIR for 50 CDRS 16x from compusa the week before thanksgiving??? Mine doesnt even show up on teh system and I guess they are also using the wheresmyrebate as the sites look similar....

IOMagic now sells Digital Research and HiVal (both went bankrupt awhile back). They should be the ones handling the DR rebate. Check their website for a phone# and call them and tell then you haven't received your rebate. I won't buy IOMagic's stuff anymore with a rebate. I bought two IOMagic products with rebates and I finally received my rebates, only after I called. It seems to be their policy since others on this forum have had to call and then they get their rebates.

By the way, Irvine is the HQ for IOMagic. Their Customer Support # is: (714) 953-3000

I just checked Wheresmyrebate.com and one of the approved rebates was listed as $20 for " PEARSON/ BEAST BUY REBATE". (Yes, they did spell Best Buy wrong!)

Does anyone have an idea which product this rebate is for? From my photocopies it looks like it should be for either the Digital Research 16x12x40X burner or McAfee QuickClean. But i don't see "Pearson" anywhere on the forms.

Anyone else besides me still waiting on those deadbeats at TigerDirect to pay up for those 128M memory rebates offered last August?? I'm getting the runaround so I finally submitted a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission. I highly recommend everyone do the same. They are the worst at processing rebates next to Cyberrebate. I had the same experience with an Age of Empires rebate. I called and they would not accept copies of my timely submission as proof, requesting the cover of the owners manual and promising only to "consider" the rebate request. It seems that the Maryland processing center to which rebate was sent has lost its contract and the rebates now go to New Jersey. I did as I was told and will see what happens. More time and hassle.

There is no store rebate program to serve as back up if Microsoft renegs.

So for me, no more Microsoft rebates until they clean up their act. Sad because at tax time they often have some decent rebates. Will not do it this year. REBATER BEWARE. >>


Hmm.. I was always under the impression that the Ridgely, MD address was an actually Microsoft office and not some 3rd party rebate processor, and that they just moved their location. Do you have some information to show that it's actually a different company?

This reminds me, I never did send in my UPC copy. And I have 2 more MS rebates to send in :-(.

Well, now Microsoft is getting into the business of bogusly rejecting rebates. I sent in a rebate for Zoo Tycoon (rebate form in the XP Launch rebate book). I got a rejection letter today saying that I did not send the UPC. I most definitely did send the UPC, as it's no longer on the boxtop.

You might just want to check your rebate form again. While I did not send for this rebate every Microsoft rebate I have sent for has always asked for the boxtop with the UPC on it. Not just the UPC.

Waiting on my Best Buy Black Friday WD 60GB $50 rebate...

The one sent with my mother's address showed up but I live in a dorm so I have a CPU(contract postal unit) box here. Which I stress is NOT a P.O. Box. Since they disallow P.O. Boxes I'm afraid they've simply tossed my stuff. I called them up and they say they can't find any trace of it, but to keep waiting until Feb. 2nd before calling again, but the girl answering the phone was actually very nice and said if by feb 2nd I didn't get it I would just send them the copies. Too bad I don't have a fax machine anywhere near here I can use!

Calling the first time won't help, you need to go to the IOmagic website and click on rebates and do a rebate inquiry. If they don't find it or you don't like the answer then you need to call. I also received the $20.00 rebate from best Buy on this but am still waiting for the IOMagic $30.00 rebate. I just did my rebate inquiry a couple days ago.

I would'nt start celebrating just yet. I purchase the Glenayre combo deal back in Sept when CompUSA first offered the $100 MIR and my rebate also showed approved until the week that the check was supposed to be cut and then it mysteriously changed to denied saying that someone else used my receipt which was totally bogus. Several others have the same reject reason partly due t the fact that the rebate offer allowed 2 per person/per address. However, I later found out that the $100 rebate is being ofered by Glenayre and CompUSa f@cked the rebate form and now Glenayre will not pay and neither will CompUSA. I tried to recove the rebate from CompUSa corporate, but they are n longer accepting such requests from individuals (Can you say bankrupt). I disputed the charge on my CC and just received a favorable ruling and had the charged permanetly removed on 1/9.

Show as "In process" on the web site. Called several times, received an apology, but told they have no idea when the checks will be mailed.

Gave up - took copies to the local store. After some debate between two managers and some employees, we were given $60 cash (plus tax!).

Nothing happened! That's the problem! CompUSA corporate relations used to "take care of " rejected rebates when you would mail or fax them your documentation proving your case. They would pay you via CompUSA corporate check. The last time I called (12/18) I was told they they could take my complaint, but that they no longer "paid" rebate claims at corporate and I would have to resolve the issue with New Rochelle. The person that I talked to was Ron Majors who is "supposedly" the manager of the dept. In the past, the person who handled my rebate issues was Catrina, but I was told she was no longer available. Lucky for me ,I started keeping copies of the CompUSA Sunday inserts for items that I purchased that offered a CompUSA rebate with purchase. It was the copy of the circular showing the CompUSA rebate that go me the favorable ruling with my CC company according to the CC CSR that I talked to about my displute.
