Just to chime in on the Geforce3 Ti200...I sent mine in on 11/26/01 and received the check on 1/31/02...8 weeks and 5 days from mailing to receipt of check. I only made 1 call on 1/25/02 and was told they would "try to expedite it". Had it in hand 4 days later, and a full 3 weeks before the 'scheduled mailing date'. Kinda confirms the 'squeaky wheel' theory.

Bought a spindle of Fuji CDR at Best Buy, last summer maybe... when they had a $5 rebate. Doing the taxes I found they had never paid off. Called. "I have to contact marketing and it will take me a week to find out." And, a miracle happens, in two weeks they just happen to have sent me the check the day before I called. Some Attorney General really needs to drop a rock on this. And Best Buy has usually been better about this than that. Now if I can just get the Jam Cam deadbeats to pay off, and the Scientific American Amateur Scientist rebate, maybe then I can finally quit buying this stuff.:Q

Just got off the phone with parago (rebatesHQ). Both rebates I sent in on different items to
these guys supposedly had 'invalid UPC's'. First one was the PNY 256M memory from Office
Depot back in Feb. Now they are saying the same thing with my Mitsubishi monitor rebate.
I bet it's just SOP with these guys. Deny them all and only send out rebates if people call
to straighten out the problem. Although I have to say that after I called them on the PNY
rebate, they validated my rebate over the phone and cut the check real quick. One thing
that struck me as suspicious (maybe I'm just paranoid) is when I called today about the
Mitsu monitor rebate, the guy asks if I have copies of my paperwork and UPC. I said yeah
and he put me on hold and went off and came back and validated it over the phone. I
wonder if I had said 'no' if maybe they would have tried to reject the rebate.

Has anyone received their $150 rebate from Compaq for the IPAQ 3635 deal? I received a letter stating I was denied because I failed to provide a sales receipt (I, in fact did include it). I sent another and they still cannot tell me when the rebate will mail. I have a bad feeling about this ...


On another (philosophical) note ... why do you (we) purchase items that include rebates? This thread is now 7 pages long FULL of complaints about this company and that rebate. You also read the sotries from the braggers that have thousands of dollars of rebates outstanding and yet has to email and call many, many times just to get news about a rebate. IS IT WORTH IT? For me, the answer is probably not anymore. I don't believe in them anymore. For all of those who love rebates good for you. What about you?

Ok, that New Rochelle place (www.wheresmyrebate.com) that is handling the GF3s from Best Buy....I've been trying to call in all day (after they told me "Call tomorrow our systems oure down <hang up>" 3 times yesterday) and it's constantly busy!!! What kind of shady operation is this?!?! If it wasn't for the fact I never bought anything from THEM I would say this is a scam! What kind of company tells you the "system is down call tomorrow" 3 days in a row and then finally blocks their number?!

I called last week and they said they'd send out my check on Monday... of course, I live 15minutes away from New Rochelle... I expected the check yesterday. It's still not here... mebbe I should bring one of these to their office and see if I can get my money... my check was due to be mailed 2/16. I loath calling them in the morning. :|

EDIT: I called again about 1 week and change after they had supposedly mailed out my check. The CSR told me that my rebate was mailed yesterday. If that was true, I would have gotten my check in the mail today since I live in the SAME FRIGGIN COUNTY! If I don't get it in tomorrow's mail... :| I wonder what they would do if I showed up with every single complaint from AT and ask when these people are getting their checks?!

EDIT (March 26): Nope, still haven't gotten my rebate... I'm calling tomorrow and ask to speak to a manager. I truly hate calling these worthless liars. Again I wonder what they would do if I showed at their doorstep? :|

These people should be investigated and fined! I also like so many had my rebate approved with check to be sent out middle of February. Called yesterday and the computer was down. Call today and forever get busy signals. Finally I get through and they have the nerve to tell me my check is scheduled to be mailed on 26 March. I tell them Bull$**t, When I checked the website 3 days ago it was already past the mail date in February and that its already been like 14 weeks. They also said the check would be mailed out today. The only people worse than them about rebates is Viking. I would suggest EVERYONE who has not received this rebate yet to call them immediately if you ever want this rebate.

Received a Kingston 128MB rebate three days ago (KVR-PC133 128-R) from purchase at OfficeDepot.com on 12-17-01.
Rebate should've been for $10, but check was only $5.

While there (wheresmyrebate.com) I saw another rebate I'd completely forgotten about, a Pentx camera purchased at Meijer on 12-14-01. They refused that rebate, listing it as "Receipt does not show a valid product purchase". Think that rebate was for $30 but will need to double-check.

I also saw other rebates I had submitted in Dec. for a Mobility Docking Station from CircuitCity, that were approved, but showed an anticipated mailing date of 5/12/02 !!

I called in for the memory rebate problem, was told, "The system is down, call back later today".

Noticing the other problems the rest of you have faced getting rebates from TCA, there seems a VERY disturbing trend here. I know I won't buy anything else with a TCA-handled (New Rochelle, NY) rebate. :|

I called wheresmyrebate.com everyday since this Monday and they always said the system is down, please call back tomorrow. I am out of the patience. I submitted the rebate in late Nov last year. The status on their website says "APPROVED" and the estimated mail date for the check was 02/17/02. They have never mail me the check. If they did, the status would be changed to "MAILED" instead.

Finally I called Best Buy rebate center. They successfully located my rebate claim but could not do anything since they couldn't contact the rebate center neither. I was advised to call back again in the later days.

One good news is Envision approved my $65 rebate for the 17" monitor purchased from Staples. I got rejected in the first time which coz the rebate is actually for Outpost purchase and Staples is not the authorized dealer of Envision. Surprisingly I received an email from them today said they completed my rebate claim and I should receive the check soon. Wow, now I make $35 from the monitor. ($160 - $30 coupon - $100 Staples rebate - $65 Envision rebate)

Does anyone have a copy of the rebate form and UPC from the 24x Pacific Digital CDRW at Staples? The rebate was for $30, bringing the price down to about $15-30 depending on tax and coupons...you'll know if you got this deal.

Just got a pleasant surprise when I got home this evening.

Had a check for $30.00 waiting for me and a GC for $20.00 from the $40.00 gig HD from BB I purchased on 3/5/02.
It is now only 3/21/02.

A record turnaround for me!

That makes two very good turnarounds for me in two days!!!!

Net price of 40 gig then was $108.xx (with tx) less $50.00 for $58.00. NOT BAD for a 7200 rpm 40 gig.

I just got off the phone with visiotek about my rebate. They dont plan on sending it out until late april. when i asked why it is taking so long they gave me some flimsy excuse about they are busy. when asked if they can send it out before april (since wheresmyrebate said it would be mailed march 10) they said no. I asked for a manager and he wouldnt let me talk to one =(

IM really upset with them and will really have to think twice about dealing with the company again.
