This is a repost from me from the "Brag & Moan Section"

Finally got my 30.00 from Staples today. Outstanding since 12/23/01.

My next oldest rebate is now 10 weeks old.

Also got a 20.00 from Staples today also. Don't know what it was for. I am very good at keeping
records can not reconcile this one. It may be a result of my writing to Staples ... Office of the President
and complaining about three outstanding rebates. I seem to remember one of them being 20.00.
Looks like they may have paid it twice.

I will accept it as partial payment for the time it took me to collect a legitimate debt from them.

I just got a rejection which I'm sure was a two part rebate. It was for a TDK 50 pack cdr spindle. I got an accepted message for $10 on a TDK 50 pack so I'm sure they are part of the same rebate.

Here is the text for the rejection:

I'm not sure which rebate that was because I don't write down/photocopy every single rebate, but I guess from now I will. I know this is an error on their part because there is no way that I did a $2 rebate on a 50 pack TDK discs where that rebate was the primary rebate calling for the actual UPC.

Anyone else get this yet? If so, do you know the actual rebate that this is associated with?

It's from compusa - I've read both rebates more closely and they both call for the original UPC!.

Here's the text from my on-line order history:

Guess I'll have to read the fine print rather than trusting the vendor.

i just received my $20 rebate for my Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro i bought from CompUSA in January... mailed in rebate on February 3 and received rebate check on April 11...

Also, they just posted approval for my $50 rebate on my Visiontek Xstasy 6564 GeForce3 Ti200... hopefully that comes thru as well and i will be 100% with the New Rochelle rebate center... i will put another post when that check actually arrives...

I didn't get in on that deal. I sent in what I think should be the same rebate though. I Bought mine from Best buy for 299 on 2-4-2002. I could use that $30 check.

Wheresmyrebate.com shows my $50 rebate on the Visiontek Xstasy 6564 GeForce3 Ti200 purchased the Gateway on line store as DENIED claiming there was not receipt. They require a packing slip. Mailed and faxed a packing slip about 2 weeks ago and still shows denied. A phone call to them was useless. They claim the manufacturer does not allow a "printed" receipt from your computer on-line purchase. That is allegedly why they require a packing slip. I E-mailed visiontek but received no response.

Any hints on getting the Visiontek Best Buy GF3 TI200 $50 rebate? I just emailed wheresmyrebate.com only to get an automated email back along with a email from
Mail Delivery Subsystem [MAILER-DAEMON@aol.com] Returned mail: Service unavailable

I really have no clue as to why I got it from MAILER-DAEMON@aol.com when I don't use aol and I doubt where's my rebate's end uses it, but oh well.

So should I call? Just wait? I had an expected mail date of 3/26/02.

You would like to think this, but it's not the case. How would they know how much to put in? Given that most manufacturers are hoping to sell out of the item and then have a 5% submit rate, there would be no way to know how much is needed. In an ideal world, however, they'd deposit the money as needed so the checks can be paid in the amount of time promised on the form.

Wasn't the FTC looking into rebates and forcing companies to put some money up in escrow?

Just got a rebate from the free PNY 64mb SDRAM deal from around late march 2002 for $15. Problem is I got two of them and they denied the second one, saying one per household or some crap. I don't have a copy of the original rebate form but rebateshq has a note saying "only one rebate per item per household". Exactly, one rebate per item. I got two items so I should get two rebates. Right?

BTW does anyone have a scan or the rebate slip for this deal? I can't find the original thread in a search for some reason.

The wording is a little strange but it does mean one rebate per household. If it was not the case you could buy 100 items and get 100 rebates meaning there really isn't a limit on the number you could buy. The wording is there to cover multiple, similar items. One case would be memory rebates, involving three sizes, say 64, 128 and 256 Mb, each having a rebate with the purchase. You would be eligible for rebates for all three if you purchased all of them but could receive a rebate for only one item each. It's the way they word it to cover multiple purchases of the same item. If there is no limit, it is usually stated, which is rare.
