Well I bought a QPS 24x12X32 CD burner back in August 2001 with the intention of getting $70 of mail in rebates and a $30 instant rebate (which I go on the spot). Well I have been checking http://www.wheresmyrebate.com since I mailed the rebates back in August. It says approved and a estimated mail date of 11/26/2001. I emailed them when this date was a month past due in the end of December 2001, and got a canned email response.

It's funny how I was at their site and that is how I got the email address and their response was to visit the site to look up the status. I haven't called them yet but I am going to do it this Monday and see what they have to say. This happen with Netgear (or the company handling the rebates) too. Three months came and went with numerous emails being sent to them, after I finally threatened them with fraud did the check all of a sudden appear in the mail about a week later.

I guess you need to wait at least couple of months to get the Circuit City Rebates. Their normal turn around time is little over 2 months.

EPO 52X CD Rom drive - wheresmyrebate.com does not show any status, called them, they asked me to fax them copies. No problem, but I failed to copy the front of the rebate coupon. They need me to include the rebate program number -

Can anyone provide the program number for this rebate???

Hi-tech CDR rebate from 11/01 (staples)

I found this at Fat Wallet forums. If you are still waiting on this rebate for the Hi-tech CDR rebate from 11/01 purchased @ Staples last year. It was a 100 spindle for $25.00 with a $25.00 rebate.
According to this FW thread the # to call is 877 549-9794. I called them today (Sunday) Hours Mon-Friday.

My Reply :
I filed this rebate on your website , and was directed to mail it where ever
your website said to mail it . If it got "lost" I will NOT resend the
information . What I will do is rebox my CD Burner and return it to Staples
. I will then get a refund and go buy a different product elsewhere .
Find my paperwork in 5 days or I return it . If you don't care I will file a
complaint with the BBB and the FTC .

Not yet. According to wheresmyrebate.com the Estimated Check Mail Date is today, 2/17. We will see what happens.

I called this number 1-877-266-6483 which is the staples rebate center number. She asked me for the manufacturer. As soon as I told her that it's HI-TECH, she said that originally these rebates were supposed to be processed in hackensack, NJ and later they were transferred to the staples rebate center. The representative told me that the promotion is already closed, but she will create a record by considering it as a special case. She took down the UPC, phone number, and address. She said that since the program is already closed HI-TECH will validate the rebate and sends the information back to staples rebate center. Looks like then only they will process it. She asked me to call back in 3 weeks to find out the status. So you have to call them immediately on this since they are saying that this promotion is already close.

Regarding Staples "HI-Tech" brand CD-R Rebates.

(I bought a 50 pack of these on 11/23/01 and sent in a $15 rebate request)

Well I guess it depends on who you talk to at the Staples Rebate Center. I called and they told me to get the phone number for the Hackensack, NJ rebate center from the local Staples where the CD-Rs were purchased.

I called the local Staples and they could find no such phone number and instead referred me back to the Staples Rebate Center. And there is, of course, no phone number on the rebate form.

I called the rebate center again, getting a different person, who told me that they don't handle that rebate and that he didn't know what else to tell me.

I mentioned to both that I had heard that the rebate had been transferred from Hackensack to the Staples Rebate Center and in both cases they said that they didn't know anything about that.

So I'm not sure what else to do other than go directly to the store and complain there.

Any suggestions?

Here's an update. I just called the Staples Rebate Center and talked to yet another CSR and she told me that there was a typo on the rebate form and that the "Hackensack, NJ" address information was incorrect. I think she said it was supposed to go to Plano, TX?, but not sure.

She then took down my information and said I should receive a check in 4 to 6 weeks.

So it appears that not all of the Staples Rebate Center CSRs are aware of this problem since the first two I called knew nothing about it.

I looked at the site and didn't put my street address in and it shows two rebates under my name and I only sent in one.My sister's shows up as being approved,she sent it in a week after the sale and it says check mailing date as 3/21/02.What takes four months?I am sick of rebates!:|

I used two seperate credit cards and got two receipts and all so I could get one for my girlfriend, I got my check, they denied hers because the credit card was under my name. Is this similar to your situation Challenger? If so, she actually got a card that she had to verify who she was to get the rebate. I don't know if she ever did, but I know I got my rebate, so you may want to check.

wakeboarder, your $20 BB D-Link router rebate has been denied. Call the BB rebate call center at 800-849-0444 to confirm it. Don't waste your time trying to convince them to pay the $20 cause they can't do anything about it. Just go back to the BB store where you bought it and complain. If you ordered it online, call the BB Customer Relations office at 800-369-5050 opt. 5. Some people had their $20 rebate denied and others (like me) had their $5 NIC rebate denied. They screwed up their rebate database and it will only honor one of the two BB D-Link rebates (whichever one they happened to process first). The BB rebate call center doesn't have the authority to fix a little $5 or $20 rebate.
