The most helpful posts include:

1. Verified contact information (mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, names etc.) for rebate sources. Active links always help.

2. Accurate details of the kinds of proof of purchase and other documentation required (UPC codes, receipts, etc.).

3. Significant updates and changes in any of the above info.

Woohoo! First post in the new thread!

And WOOHOO!! Finally got my KBGear JamCam rebate! $30.00 in the mail today. Since the co. is out of business, i was VERY suprised to get the $$. I'm going to cash the check and then deposit it just to make sure that the money'll be there.

I just recieved this email from rebatestatus.com for my $50 Intel Pocket Concert rebate.

I got concerned when I checked my status @ their site and it showed I was being denied, so I sent them an email asking why. Here is what I got back from them today.

Well, to continue my problems that I mentioned in the previous rebate thread, I got an email today saying that they'd send the me a $2 check to make up the difference on the weird check that I received. Once it's in hand, I can finally end this.

Still no $100 from Sam's Club for the 100GB hard drive, though :| . I'm gonna have to start bugging Sam's next.
edit: I dug around Sam's Club's website, looking for some way to contact them other than the email form they have. I tried a chat with a CSR, and they gave me the rebate tracking phone number: 1-866-804-7267 They said the check was sent out on the 13th (sigh of relief). I though other people waiting for Sam's Club rebates might find the phone number useful, I couldn't find it anywhere on the rebate form.

Thanks for the info. So that's the $10 D-Link rebate that I got today. I was wondering about that. I also received the other $5 rebate a while ago. So that's a pretty good deal. Initial cost $10 - $15 in rebates. So we made $5 on the deal.

for those who got in on OD's deal for PNY's 256mb sdram, with rebate amount of $15:

did any of you guys get a postcard saying that the UPC submitted was incorrect?

i got that card today, and am now checking the scans of the stuff i mailed in. i noticed that on the rebate form it asks for a UPC with the number 228547, however the UPC # on the ram package is 7-51492-21414-6, but OD did put an additional sticker on the package with the correct UPC#, 228547.

what can i do in a situation like this? i emailed rebateshq.com (handlers of this rebate) and also called them (but no live person at the other end, only a machine...), but no success so far...

Funny you should ask. I called Express Group up yesterday (using the toll free number on the rebate form) and they had no record of my rebate.

I mailed it all in about 9 weeks ago. Fortunately I had kept copies of everything and they asked me to fax it all to them. I called back to be sure they received the fax (they did) and now the waiting game starts again.

Well, this is from quite a while back but I finally got my CrapUSSR rebate for $22 from the purchase of 2x 50pks of Sony 80min CDRs.
Wow, that was a mouthful. They were listed on wheresmyrebate.com for a while but it seems like they only keep rebates on their db until another bumps it off. So lets see if those BB GeForce rebates actually mail.

I just checked RebatesHQ and they have my rebate listed as denied because of an invalid UPC. The one from my package was:

This is the $30 rebate from DR? I've already received the $20 one from BB on the same deal.

Unfortunately, the manufacturers for many of those deals are taking their precious time, and I have gotten very little of the rebate money.

As one example, only recently was the Visiontek Xtasy 6564 rebate approved, and the check sent date isn't scheduled until 3/24. Total time about 15 weeks instead of the usually printed 8 weeks.

Calling Best Buy corporate (they have a rebate department) is not helpful; they just refer you to the manufacturers. I'm a patient person by nature, but only Staples rebates seem to be generally reliable and timely (and yes, someone is bound to chime in and disagree).

Yes; the $30.00 rebate is from I/O Magic (DR). If memory serves me, I received the $20.00 BB rebate on the same drive in 17 days from date of mailing - the fastest rebate I had ever received. At the time I commented here that the fast rebate was a balance for the 6 months I would have to wait for the DR rebate, after reading so many horror stories about DR rebates in this forum. Needless to say, I am pleased that it took 'only' 11 weeks. I follow-up on these rebates without procrastinating, and have had mostly good experiences so far, with Parago being the only exception at this time. Anyway, I have always avoided DR rebates like The Plague, but the 16x10x40 CDRW for $29.99 was too good to pass up at the time. I bought it for myself, but a week later I Ebayed it and bought a Cendyne 24x10x40 which was also too good to pass up...the DR drive paid for the Cendyne drive. :Q

I disagree now, as I still have a rebate from Staples 10/31/01 unpaid, along with 3 other overdue rebates, all from Parago. So far, I have never had to resort to going to a store to demand a rebate, but it looks like I will have to do so with Staples next week. I have cut back my rebating activities by 95%, due in part to economic conditions - never know which company is going to fold next in times like this. I had a good turnaround time with the Visiontek card; as I recall, it wasn't more than a couple weeks late, if that much.

I submitted a $50 rebate and a $20 rebate for my Que! brand 24X CD-RW drive purchased from CompUSA back in September.

Recently, I received the $20 rebate - status on wheresmyrebate.com shows the status as MAILED and an estimated mail date of 1/23/02.

However, the $50 rebate is still outstanding. Strange thing here is the status shows as APPROVED, with an estimated mail date of 12/22/01. I assume this status should have changed to MAILED, if the check had actually been...umm...mailed?

I finally got my $20 MIR for the Hi Val 100 pack cd-r's bought at OM on 10/11/01. I had to call them IO Magic to get this long overdue rebate.
