Finally got the Pacific Digital CDRW rebate from Parago after months of calling and waiting...funny how 3 rebates, new and old, come on the same day. Anyway...

Total time: 5 weeks, happy about this rebate, and also pricematched the scanner down to $41.00

Dazzle Creator $40.00 rebate
They paid this one in February and now they paid it again. Weird.

Also got a $50.00 Staples/Parago check...I have no $50.00 rebates outstanding. I tried to get some info on it, but 3 CSRs can't tell me what this check is for. It's not my birthday. This is the 4th time Staples has sent me extra money and I don't know why. Anyone else have this problem with them? :Q

I called www.wheresmyrebate.com again, regarding the VisionTek Geforce 3 Ti/200 $50 rebate, but not surprisingly, they once again tell me the system is down and call back tomorrow. I had to yell something out to stop the service rep. from hanging up on me again after telling me this, and told her that I sent the rebate form in like little more than a month ago, and it is not showing up on the website. She tells me that it takes upto 8 WEEKS for it to show up on the system. I thought it takes that long to actually get the rebate!

Is there like some number or place where I can complain about their service and their continued claim that their system is down????

Just received my $50 on this CDRW yesterday also. This was the worst Staples sponsored rebate experience I have had so far. Heh, we should have sent a letter to the Office of the President of Staples. Maybe I'll get an extra $50 for all the time I spent bugging them.


I called wheresmyrebate.com/TCArebates today to check on two overdue rebates and they gave me the same cr@p about their system being down. I asked them if they were doing an upgrade on their computers or are they just having computer problems. CSR replied- both.

I also had all sorts of problems with this rebate ($40 off a 20 gig 7200 RPM Maxtor HD).

I had concerns even before I sent in the rebate materials. Depending on which Express Group CSR that I got on the phone, I was told different criteria as to what was an acceptable proof of purchase. I ended up sending in multiple things (packing slip, Electronic invoice, faxed purchase receipt from OD) so that they couldn't claim I missed something.

After checking their website often and *never* seeing my rebate listed I called them and they had no record of my submission. I ended up faxing them copies of everything and, eventually, my rebate check did show up.

My rebate never did show up on their automated system. I will try to avoid rebate deals that involve Express Group.

VisionTek GeForce3 TI 200 ($50) - Best Buy / Black Friday Sale: This one took 4 months, but I got it with the infamous Price Match receipt!

For comparison sake, I mailed three rebates on 12/19. one for $100 from Sam's Club, $50 from BB/ Visiontek, and $100 from CompUSA (also going to New Rochelle). I received the Sam's rebate within a month, the BB rebate today, and the CompUSA rebate is still missing.

for the cendyne 24x cdrw, the rebate required the serial bar code from the box as well as the upc. being the idiot i am, i forgot to send the bar code but i sent the upc. will my rebate be denied? is there any way to still send in the barcode?

Just got the $70 rebate for the Staples 17" Envision Monitor sent in on 2-25.

By the way, it's a great monitor for $60.

cchen, I don't know if they will deny your rebate. When I sent mine in on 1-22 I sent both the
UPC and the serial #. I got my $20 check on 3-5.

And the LiteOn burner can make copies of ANYTHING! ( with a little help from CloneCD ).

(CompUSA) $15 PNY 64 Mb PC100 3/3/02 to 3/30/02 (darn fast !)
(CompUSA) $10 Lexar 64 Mb CF 1/2/02 to 3/30/02 (on the slow side)

Ironically while the $15 64 Mb PNY rebate arrived in under a month, I'm still waiting for a $20 rebate for a 128 MB PNY stick from 11/18/01. Its status on rebateshq.co shows a check number but no issue date. So much for consistency.

Same with mine...Parago assigned a check number to my PNY 128MB rebate around February 11th (6 weeks ago). Each time I called them up, they confirmed that a check had been printed, but that it was NOT mailed out. The idiot CSRs and supervisors insist that 60 days must pass before they can issue a new check, even though the first one was NEVER ACTUALLY MAILED. 3 escalations so far.

Received my $50 rebate on HP315 Digital Camera & $20 SanDisk CF Rebate from Staples deal of a few weeks ago. Registered on-line for the first time. Turnaround was fast - Sent in Rebates on 2/22/02, Received $50 on 3/24/02 and $20 on 3/28/02.

Anybody know what I should do about the $100 rebate for the VG150 purchased from Dell back in August. I still have not received the check and RebatesHQ say I sent in the wrong rebate form (VG180 vs. VG150), but I double checked the product and dates match up correctly. I also faxed them the information in January and they have not responded.

Called wheresmyrebate.com today about my Visor/Activelink rebates from compusa (2@$100). Rebate was mailed 11/30/01, the site CLAIMS that the check was mailed 3/12/02 (WAY over the 6-8 weeks the rebate said to allow...) but never received. The CSR I spoke to said she'd have it mailed today... we'll see...

I sent in a rebate submission for the Toshiba PDR-M81 2 weeks ago...it's not looking good...

It appears that the toll-free number for the Toshiba fulfillment center in Anaheim, CA [888-322-5575] has been disconnected within the past 2 business days. I called late last week and an answering machine answered. I called today at noon and got the "disconnected number" message.

2 questions:

Has anyone received a rebate from Toshiba recently? If so, please specify date.

Does anyone have another phone number for this place, or any other info?

Just to chime in on the Geforce3 Ti200...I sent mine in on 11/26/01 and received the check on 1/31/02...8 weeks and 5 days from mailing to receipt of check. I only made 1 call on 1/25/02 and was told they would "try to expedite it". Had it in hand 4 days later, and a full 3 weeks before the 'scheduled mailing date'. Kinda confirms the 'squeaky wheel' theory. >>

I had all but given up on my Black Friday rebate on this GF3 Ti200! I was just whining(er..mentioning ) to a friend last week about how I guess I was screwed and would not get my $50.00 check, when last Thursday 3/28/02 after only 4 MONTHS!! it shows up in my mailbox...finally can say good deal! $99.00 GF3....now if I could only remember what other rebates I still have open....arggh!
