Did some checking of rebates tonight and found some interesting thngs. Between all the deals that I have done
recently after I get the rebates I will get about 250 CDs, modem, CDwriter, Surge Protector, 4 Port Hub, 56X CD Rom, CD Labeler, 10 network cards and a bunch of other stuff for less than $20.00 (yes twenty dollars).

This was not on one rebate but on multiples. I spent some time and just went through about my last 15 deals calculating my net
cost After discounts, rebates, price matching, and cost allocating I came up with the above. Dollar wise about $300 - $400 worth for next to nothing.

I always have gotten my rebates. I keep on top of them and am not afraid to call, write letters and otherwise complain. It
works. I have only 1 $10.00 rebate that I would consider old (Dec 01) but I know that it too is coming. It does take effort
and time but I look upon it as a pasttime.

Will try more deals tomorrow at Staples before their big $ off expires.

Just got the Magellan GPS Companion rebate (purchased at Staples, rebate from TCA).

Mailed: 3/26/02
"Scheduled" mailing date: 6/15/02
Received: 6/10/02

Total turnaround time: 10 weeks

Yet another decent turnaround by TCA Rebates Final cost on the GPS Companion was $29.01, including tax...I fleabayed it for $109 and then bought a real, turn-by-turn GPS.

Any update on the $50 rebate for the 32x Cendyne burners from Staples guys?! I bought 3 rebate items during that weekend and sent all my information out several weeks ago. 2 of them have been recieved and being processed, but my Cendyne burner says that it hasn't recieved the documentation yet (UPC and reciept)?! It was all sent out at the same exact time and everything so theres no reason why it shouldn't of arrived. Im going to be calling Staples CS since they didn't respond to e-mail after several days. Am I the only one having a problem?

I have been approved for all of my recent Staples rebates EXCEPT the Cendyne 32x CD-RW and the crappy web-cam thingy.
I am willing to wait a couple more weeks for the CenDyne rebate to be approved.

Called last week, and was told by Seagate rep that checks should be sent out 60 days from promo cuttoff date (4/11).

I just got off the phone withthe New Rochelle (www.wheresmyrebate.com) folks. The VisionTek $50 rebate for the GeForce 3 Ti200 that I mailed back on 2/22/02 and which was supposed to have been mailed on June 1, has been pushed to July 10 because "VisionTek extended the processing time". That just sounds phony. They already took 3+ months to process the durn thing and they need another 5 weeks? They wouldn't give me a contact number at VisionTek either, so I pulled one of the web site and left a message with the rebate person at VisionTek...

I guess this is the standard run-around, but it's just so darn frustrating!

These Cendyne rebates !! - I just got through doing yet another email for something that is over one year old re a 16x10x40 CDRW. After much fighting, got $30 from Cendyne and they referred me back to CUSA for the $20 balance. Hope this doesn't happen to you. Just remember to fight the good fight when it comes to these rebaters...

I just submitted a VisionTek $30 rebate for a GF3. I hope this doesn't happen to me !!!

I'm cleaning up my rebate files now. I have 2 from March from OfficeMax: $30 on 100 spindle of Hi-Val CD-R's. I called and now they say 2 weeks. THey probably wouldn't have shipped if I hadn't called. I also had a Ivista webcam bundle thing for $40. I called them and after getting much runaround from ivista then speaking to people at Officemax then speaking to ivista again, they claim it is processing but they won't know how soon I will get it until it hits the post office.

Got the CD-R's rebate in the mail 6/17.. immediately after calling. funny how that works...

REQUEST FOR HELP: The last part I am working on is an older rebate. It is from last December from Microsoft. The Internet keyboard pro/wheel mouse optical bundle. Did anyone receive this and does anyone have any information that could help me get in contact with them. There is no phone number for them. The only contact I have is the address I mailed the rebate form to: Promotion 497-01-821, PO Box 4104, Ridgely, MD 21684. Does anyone have a phone number or rebate status web site to suggest?

my Cendyne 32x CD-RW of staples is "on the last stage of ....30 days...", but not yet for the web carmera.

Ivista webcam bundle $40 are at rebatestatus.com. They pull it out from their website search. So may have to call them.
Last time i check they say it was processing and the other one (Kbyes RAM) which also disappear from their website arrived a few days ago.

Letter back from the Minnesota Attorney General about KB Gear Interactive and the Jam Cam rebate
"The company is not operating" but that doesn't mean they are in bankruptcy where anyone can get any money out of them. The letter did say that it would be possible to get more information from another state office if the company ever did go into bankruptcy. But the AG is collecting complaints about KB. If you search the web you can use online forms to send complaints to the AG there.

Letter back from the Oregon Attorney General about Tinker's Guild and the Amateur Scientist column CD rebate.
Tinker's Guild claims that they've done rebates before. But this time it went wildly wrong and they would have had to pay all the money they had and bankrupt themselves to pay off what they owed, so they decided to not to pay up. Instead they claimed that they mailed letters to everyone offering free newsletters instead (nope, I never saw this). And they claim that they were screwed by Fry's mailing back a truckload of these disks unsold. But they claim that Fry's will make good on the $25 rebate. Given reputation for customer service at Fry's I can barely wait to see how that goes.

As an update, I found an email address on the VisionTek web site, rebates@visiontek.com, and asked them about the delay. I received a polite reply asking for more details. I sent those in, and just got an email apologizing for the delay, and saying that I would receive a check within two weeks. The email also said that the delay is not normal practice of our rebate handling process.

Maybe this alerts VisionTek just a little to the fact that TCA may not be the best place to be handling their rebates...

I bought two... filed two separate rebates for 2 different addresses (one to a family member with different last name/address)....

Were both of them on the same receipt? I think TCA keeps track of the CompUSA receipt number and will reject one of the rebates with the same receipt number.
