If there were ever a question about what rebates are about, here it is. Kingston is offering a rebate if you buy certain memory from their site. Think about it. Why do you need to send in a manufactuer's rebate when you are buying directly from the manufactuer? Why don't they just give you the discount. This illustrates the fact that the manufacturer is betting that you will not send in the rebate, mess up the rebate form, send it in late, etc, you know the rest. What they are saying is that not everyone will get the rebates. Only the most gifted will receive the prize. The rest will suffer with the dreaded reject email. It's a game isn't it?
