Hey Chris,

Ditto to your post.

Continental has an 800 #, press "0" and ask receptionist to speak to a live person and they will comply.

That's only way to get the status of your claim.

Rebate Info for C-USA and Staples

Check this link for info that may show your current rebates. I am certain it covers those that are through Staples and Compusa (the Kodak 50-CD rebate)...and it may have others in the database. Your mileage may vary.

Might help someone.

I work for the USPS and there is definitely alot of rebating going on in Young America. I had the same vision as u. A bunch of clearing houses and that's it. Hardly ever get a real address for those ppl

i finally got my IO magic rebate after calling them up.

does anyone know if Linksys, Logitech, and D-Link are good at rebate? cause I have some pending with them.

Microsoft is the only company that handles rebates quickly , IMHO.

Is it considered false advertising to not fulfill the rebate offer in the stated time frame.

Let's get a bunch of lawyers together and sue them.

I would like to offer a piece of advice that has worked for me 100% of the time. Most recently with V-Store ( no rebate received in the specified time). After I complained I had the check in less than 10 days!!

1. Don't waste you time and breath calling anyone on an 800# - just write a letter - the shorter the better ( there is an example at the bottom of this post)

2. Get this free government publication (on line or you can request a copy via snail mail - either way it's free ) that lists ALL the state Attorney generals as well as Federal Agencies to send a letter to regarding not receiving your rebate on time.

The LAST thing these Internet companies want is someone breathing down their neck with a possible Federal fraud charge. It's much easier for them to expedite your refund than it is to get their corporate lawyer involved in answering fraud charges from 3 or 4 state/federal agencies.

Make sure you snail mail a copy of your letter to the company/person you are having the problem with - 99.9% of the time they will act immediately to resolve the situation so they can close the matter and keep you satisfied.

3. If you have meet the purchase requirements, sent in the proper paperwork, and they have not notified you of a delay in processing the rebate then the SOB's are in violation of a number of state and federal laws.

4. here is a copy of the letter I wrote last Sunday regarding e*Trade jerking me around. I "guarantee I will have my GC by the 15th of this month".

To date I have not received that certificate - only promises!!!

I would request you investigate this matter for possible action against E*Trade.

If you read my earlier posts, then Continental Promotions is clearly in violation of several state/federal laws.

My letter of complaint is going out tomorrow.

Microsoft may be prompt with the rebates, but I found one of the sneakiest tricks I've ever seen on an MS product. It was the peel off rebate for AOE II Age of Kings. It was $20 back. Tiny little plastic coupon. God, this thing was a bear. They actually didn't print the rebate address on the coupon, it was on the part that was still stuck to the cellphane wrapping. Took me a while, but I almost screwed myself out of $20. Sneaky.

This is the company that is in charge of rebates for linksys also!

I sent in my rebate for $10.00 on a nic card but i had bought two, on the rebate form it said max 2. i received the rebate last week and it was only for one of them $10.00. Well i finally got a phone # from linksys and called them, now i have to wait 48 hours for them to call me back! this is rediculose!

cybertiger, I got a dlink usb 10mb ethernet adapter from circuit city for 30 last summer, it came with a $25 rebate...took about 8-9 weeks for me to get it.

My claim wasn't certified or anything. I was a little suprised to see that one in the mail!

I sent in a rebate for two Linksys USB hubs ( limit 5 ) for $10 each, got ONE check for $10, just sent them a email tuesday and received a reply on wedneday that they will check into it ??? The person to email is rcaballero@linksys.com, what is there phone number ??

Hey guys,

Checked on the status of my $19.99 rebate on the CompUSA 50 pk. Kodak CD-r blanks from the above rebatehq.com link.

Guess what, it said : &quot;Your $ 19.99 check was printed on 11-13-00&quot; Since today is 11/9 how do you think they can pull that off?

Note: It did not say &quot;will be printed on 11/13&quot;

The moral here is that the rebate houses are shady.

Found another site with rebate tracking info. This one is for Kingston memory I bought through Best Buy and Outpost.com

well after a week i just got a PH# to call reguarding the Linksys rebate's when you get scammed like i did (see above post only got half of my rebate) This will get you in direct contact with the linksys rebate department. Hope this saves you at least a little time, i will let you know what they tell me and how their service is as soon as i get off the phone with em!

ok well i just got off the phone with these goofs (the guy tried to tell me that i had to mail em in seperatly, i explained to him that the coupon said max 2ea. item and 6 total, he said that was missleading so anyone else who did more than one may get cought up in this same problem if you were expecting a rebate on this b sure you check the amount when you get it) anyways they said they will send me another check for the other $10.00 but now i have to wait another 6 weks for the other ten dollars, what a pain in the A** oh well, at least i am gona get it!
