I am having a rebooting problem with Windows 98SE. The system seems to boot fine but about half of the time as soon as I see the hour glass at on the start-up screen the machine will simply reboot for no apparent reason.
At time the machine will boot into Windows fine and will run as long as you don't restart.......
Any ideas on what may be the problem? I am dealing with a fresh install with almost nothing on the hard drive but Windows. I have swapped mobo and memory sticks and I am still getting the same result.
I am reluctant to think that it could be the CPU because it doesn't do it all of the time and when it does boot up it will run for an extended period of time.
Please Help me or make a suggestion!
Thanks,
mike
