my computer will reboot frequently, and I dont know why. I'm running a 3.0c w/ 1 gig of corsair xms 3200. I saw that harddrive747 has a rebooting problem. With those that have this mb and have this problem, how did u fix it?

This motherboard has big problems with Corsair memory apparently. Yeah, I didn't find out either until after I put it all together. Fortunately mine more or less works as advertised. If you have any spare RAM I would try putting that in and seeing if the problem persists. Other than the memory though, the only thing I can think of is that your heatsink might have poor adhesion to the chip and your processor is overheating. If your system gets too hot it might automatically reboot or shut off to try and save itself. Good luck.

I have this board. I had a problem with rebooting, but it turned out to be the PS connector to the mobo. I have a Antec TruControl 550 PS and the pins coming off the PS get a bit messed up when you pluf it into the mobo connector. So if the PS wires moved even the slightest, system would reboot (or power off and back on) because some pins weren't touching tightly. Had to take a small pin and bend the PS pins back into place and if I'm lucky enough, I'll have it just right and things wont reboot.

What's the problem with Corsair XMS and this mobo? I have Corsair XMS TwainX 2x512 and I've been having a number of probles with this board...just wondering if the problems Im having match up with the known problems with the RAM.

From what others reported on, that I did research on say the Corsair XMS has problems running with this board.
I bought the Hyper X pc 3500 for that reason. Np problems with it whatsoever.
You can contact gigabyte to see if you can get the F6 Beta Bios which is suppose to fix the timming issues with Corsair XMS

Try 2.5-3-3-8 timings at 2.7V or so, and see if it stabilizes. Often this is all it takes.

I have this mobo with Corsair XMS PC3200 memory and it works fine (knock on wood). I am using a ThermalTake PSU (Xaser 3 or something like that).

Are you using that Dual Power Supply thingie that came with the mobo? If so, have you used the clips to secure it to the socket? I wonder if that thing might be popping out on you and causing the system to reboot. It doesn't go in very tightly and needs the clip to remain secure.

I got new RAM, HyperX pc3500. I ran the settings at what is suggested for this MB and RAM. I ran memtest and prime95 toture test and it passed both. However, it is still rebooting. I got a new power supply and now RAM. What other possibilities could be making my computer restart? Thanks

I had replaced my Enermax 550watt power supply because one of the 4 pin molexes broke off with an Antec truepower 550 watt. My system also reboots itself. I returned the Antec. As a workaround, I bought a couple of Y adapters. I have never had any reboots with the Enermax 550 watt power supply.

It was from one of the power supply 4 pin connectors. A Y-adapter allows me to split up one 4 pin connector into 2-4pin connectors.
