I really see "Desktop" computers slowly evolving into more of a media storage device, and tablets and thin clients become more mainstream in the home. SOmething the size of a cellphone now is powerful enough to do every day tasks. Email, Facebook, websurfing, and even some 3d gaming. Instead of having an HTPC sitting in a AV rack or shelf, you can have a cell phone sized device plugged into your TV or receiver using the micro HDMI to HDMI cable, wifi connection and bluetooth pointing device.
Hmm, I have an idea.
I still think cell phones/ tablets are a few generations away from being powerful enough for everyday tasks. Sure they can handle checking email but they are still woefully inadequate for gaming and work.
