Here is some of Walker's handy work like he promised....

Psst:

Of those 17,800 were government jobs.

The state unemployment rate is at its lowest since 2008, and DWD spokesman John Dipko called the separate data on job losses an outlier among good news.

He is reducing government spending, so he reduced the number of people the government has to pay. It is how it works. The unions know this, but they are hoping the people of Wisconsin are too stupid to know it.

Two things:

First, those who say the recall was started due to Walker's union downsizing techniques, you are wrong. It was started shortly after Walker won the election. Apparently, dems feel that election results are meaningless.

The attempt to recall Walker began shortly after he took office in January 2011 and gained steam when he and Republican lawmakers eliminated most collective bargaining rights for public employee unions. The effort, which aimed to cut the state’s $3.7 billion deficit without raising taxes, resulted in large, rancorous protests at the State House that reverberated across the county.

But so far, the people of Wisc. are telling the unions that they actually want to keep the man they voted in the first time, by saying they will vote for him again.

Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker leads Democratic challenger Tom Barrett 50 percent to 44 percent, according to a poll released ahead of the state's high-profile recall election Tuesday.

The independent Marquette University Law School telephone survey released Wednesday surveyed 720 registered voters and had a margin of error of 3.7 percentage points.

Among the 600 likely voters in that survey, Walker led 52 percent to 45 percent, with a margin of error of roughly 4 percent. The numbers remain essentially the same compared to the school's poll two weeks ago.

An averaging of polls by the Real Clear Politics website has Walker leading Barrett 51 percent to 44.4 percent.

And after Barrett's dismal debate, I do not see this changing at all.

If the people of WI are smart enough to see through the idiots trying to get rid of Walker for doing the right thing, then maybe there is hope for the rest of the country as well.

I'll be voting to get rid of Walker at the end of his first term if he doesn't finish what he started with union reforms. I will not excuse him for rewarding some public unions while punishing others.

I am mystified how Walker balanced the WI budget? The numbers I have don't seem to add up.

this, though the only problem is that their are plenty of state's whose citizens are not as smart as those in Wisconsin - mainly California and New York.

I'm in the same boat.... getting out of the rats nest. A pole of businesses in Wisconsin showed 94% wanted Walker. As I said I'm going back into the privet sector so I'm voting for whom they want and who they think is doing it right.

Will you be voting for or against Walker in this recall?
If he makes a valid attempt to do what you mentioned by going all the way and it fails, how will that affect your vote?
What if he's running against another Democrat during his re-election who wants to reinstate what Walker fixed?
Is Tom Barrett running on a platform of completely reversing what Walker partially fixed or is he simply trying to prevent more from happening?

I hope Scott Walker goes all the way. Public sector unions shouldn't exist.

Walker would stand a better chance if he'd remove from the voter registration rolls anyone who'd not likely support him...
Florida is doing this now... Easy way to control an election like in 2000

Walker's big out of State money speech helps but to eliminate voters could save bundles of money and have a better outcome.

You mean like how Democrats win elections by recounting the votes until they win? :awe:

I won't be voting for Walker or for Barrett on Tuesday.

Right now only Walker attempting to finish what he started with public-sector unions and succeeding will get me to vote for him in his re-election bid. Everything else will yield no vote for him from me. That doesn't mean I'll be voting for the Democratic candidate, though.

Heh my buddy worked for the city of Sheboygan. He complained about the laziness within his dept. He even had a guy who wouldnt do jack shit and his boss had no desire to change that. Why? Because when his boss tried to do something about it the union reps were on his ass so fast it made his head spin. He has since moved to another city and after Walker passed the law have voted out their union. They dont have a need for one any more.

There is a huge difference between "playing" and in the case of the GOP.....PAYING for Politics.

Oh, so it's OK for out of state celebrities to come in and help one side, but not OK for out of state people to help fund a campaign. Good thinking, that makes complete sense... but only to you.

SO you are not aware of all the "celebrities" stumping in this state for Walker I assume?

Something seems a bit off with this info graphic. I'm a bit skeptical with only 29 states listed.
Also, this doesn't really seem to take into account public sector jobs being cut due to bloat I would guess.

I'm sorry to hear that about the unions, and support you pushing for reform as needed.

But you should understand what's at stake is far bigger than that.

This is about Republicans wanting to gain a dominant advantage in elections - forever, by destroying Democrats' main source of funding, unions.

The top ten outside groups donating in the last election in 2010 had six big corporate-donation Republican donors, one non-partisan group, and all three others were unions.

Remove unions, and Democrats had no groups in the top ten from that list. Our elections are dominated by money, and this is much of their strategy to take over our democracy.

Unless you support the Republican agenda and want a one-party country (corporate donations led to the most Republican state legislators since 1928), this is a problem.

Your vote is important for the national agenda of Republicans attacking unions to win elections to let the '1%' they represent buy our government - permanently.

That's far more important than the 'union problems' you mention, and I accept your post.

Republicans are outspending Democrats *25 to 1* in this recall with (out of state) corporate donations, who want to buy government. Do you support money dominance?
