Reccomendation for a Video card?

I could use a suggestion. I have been out of the loop for awhile on this stuff. My computer is a P4 2.4c oced to 3.0 with 1gb pc3200 running with a 9700pro. Now my 9700pro has served me well but I would like to get something with a little more juice. The only game I really play is Workd of Warcraft. What would be a good agp card to get that would have a noticible performance incrase over the 9700 pro? I am not talking a 7800gs, just looking to get something somewhat better, even used if possible. I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

An X800XT should fill your needs
Nice upgrade, even a X800Xl is worth coming from a 9700 Pro.

If you prefer nvIdia, a 6800GT/GS has SM3.0 but IMHO not the same IQ as ATI.

Prices are around $245 for for the X800XT, a little more than I wanted to inviest in a sudo older computer. Anything a little more affordable?

I see that the X1600 PRO 512MB can be had for around $135 is that better or worse than the x800xt?

no idea that cards in EEUU, just go for a USED X800Xl, you should get one in US for 150 U$ or ever less.

I have a similar thread open right now but just let me say that from my research, the 512MB on that X1600 PRO isn't reall worth it as the card really can't take advantage of that memory. The cards for $80-$120 that people seem to suggest are 6600gt, 6800, X800??, and X1600 PRO. However trying decibe which of these AGP cards is the best is my current problem. Hope that narrows down your search a little.

If you're looking to spend under $150 then any card from I guess it'd be 2-3 generations ago would fit the bill. I currently am running on a 6600gt which should be a noticable improvement over the 9700pro. If you aren't worried about voiding the warrenty on your card, which I figure you aren't then a 6800 should be a good card as you may be able to unlock the pipelines and OC it to get respectable performance. Not sure how much most ATI cards are going for but an X800 should be a pretty good performance boost, I think it's round about the same performance as the 6800 and then the x800pro is also a nice card. Newer cards like hte x1600 have newer technology but their performance really isn't that great to justify the cost.

How does this GTO compare to the others in the X800 series on tests? Is is a lower level?
