I took a hard look at the 24" Asus, the new Dell IPS 24 and the 25.5" VW266H. Ended up choosing the 25.5" due to the 1920x1200 resolution. I wanted 1600x1200 support if forced in an older game.
Moving from a Dell 2005FPW, all I can say is I'm far more impressed than I thought I would be. The 2005 is a S-IPS panel, and it looks amazing. Now, I am colorblind to a pretty good extent, but I can tell the difference between most TN panels and IPS panels regardless. It's night and day between a tinted looking TN and any IPS. This is the first TN panel I've seen that I can't see any difference in the clarity of the whites and other stark colors that I can differentiate. A friend of mine has a Dell TN, and I can barely handle looking at it the whites are so off.
From PRAD, it appears it probably has one of the lowest input lag ratings on the market if it's the same as the 24". That's why I initially considered it, but it's great for gaming and I wouldn't miss the old IPS. Obviously this is through color-blind eyes and a gamer, not a designer anyone who earns an income based on color matching (I'm sure if one screen is superior to the other in color range its the IPS).
For resolution, 1920x1200 on a 25.5" is just about perfect. Enough space to work with, large enough you can see it very well. I don't think I could go for a 30".
For the price I'm very happy. Wish it had displayport instead of component input, it was clearly designed for someone who uses it as a TV and computer LCD.. I already have something to watch movies on (my 50" plasma).
