Ok now that the speakers and receiver thing is bacicly worked out i have a fue more quesions.

Ive been seeing people talk about speakers haveing to be "broken in" is this true? And for new speakers should i take it easy on them till thay get lossend up? Or dose it not matter.

Next should i get good speaker wire? dose it rilly matter?

You can download manuals http://www.onkyousa.com/download/own_manuals.cfm

Might want to take it easy on the speakers for a little while... the sub especially.

Speaker wire info
http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm

Cablesforless has affordable wire.

If I had a choice between Fluance + Dayton vs Onkyo speaker set, I think I'd take the Fluance set.

If Fluance is without sub, I would still get it if I intended to add a sub later.

Hmm. Well crap auction is ended and theres no more right now... :-(

There wouldent be much of a diffrentce in the two sets would there?

They are both going to be good for the price.

I couldn't tell you how different they would be from one another.

And concerning the manual..you can just get that off the internet. Really, after you read up on a few things..get to know the receiver..you wont need it for more than a reference tool.

49hz isnt that high, its not tremendously low, but its still proper bass.....

if the speakers can go loud enough 49hz will still give a nice thump.....

it wont sound 'light' if the speakers are reasonably well made.....i know because i have some Mission 700 bookshelfs, they are 50hz at the lowest, and they give a lovely bass response....

I know the AV set is pretty good for the price.

The Onkyo HTIB sets are known for having nice receivers but the speakers being pretty average.

I haven't done a direct comparison of the two to get into detail about differences.

Yeah, the only reason I need mine is when I can't get to the back of the receiver but I need to know which input on it corresponds to what (like which composite video input from the edge is "video 3" etc).

This is still page 2 for me (you can set how many posts per page)

Could you remind me what you're talking about? Was this a free prologic receiver?

Set higher posts per page. It's only 2 pages for me... doesn't seem as bad.
