"My War Killing Time in Iraq" by Colby Buzzell. I have read my share of war/military novels and man..this one is just RAW. It's up there on my top favorite books of all time. Definitely recommended.
Nonfiction or fiction? Last I checked Clancy was fiction
Science fiction? David Drake, John Ringo, SM Stirling, David Weber, Eric Flint, Jerry Pournelle are mostly ex-military so they put a bit of their experiences into their fiction. You can find some of their ebooks free at baen.com in the "Baen free library."
