Recommend a health insurance policy/plan for two self-employed adults w/maternity?

Can anyone recommend a good health insurance policy/plan/company for a couple (two self-employed adults) with maternity?

That, and/or a good insurance agent in Oklahoma?

Don't most insurance companies consider being pregnant a pre-existing condition and you won't be able to get any or if you do expect to pay a lot more for that time.

I don't know what good means but I'm self employed. We have Celtic insurance an indemnity plan. It's go to any doctor in world, they pay 100% after 2k per person per annum. We pay 100% until then.

I'd check em out as they cover OK - they are higher than most but that's the price for freedom and no surprises.

Tossing in Maternity seems that not much was absorbed.

Most places for my wife and myself wanted $600/month for semi decent coverage.

Be aware of the limited PPOs; they provide minimal coverage at a $300/month+ rate.

Lands Health seemed to have decent rates

1) Costco
2) Joining an organization such as a local small business group that offers a special insurance deal for its members.
3) Call 3-5 insurance brokers and ask for quotes and recommendations

dont know much about private health insurance plans, but I do know that you won't be able to find an individual short term disability plan to cover loss of income due to maternity leave (that different than having the medical procedures covered, obviously)

I have had Health Net and it seems ok. For the pregnacy issue, they usually do call it a pre-existing condition, but when you sign up, they ask if you are trying for baby. If so, they mark it up.

Edit:, oh, and my own premiums are $150 a month and my wife is $180. I am self employed, wife is at home... doing nothing... Just sitting there... not even making a sandwich... but that isn't for this thread...

Insurances vary by states.

Yeah, that's an understatement...some providers' plans are reasonable in some states, while totally unreasonable/unaffordable in others. Also can check local hospitals' plans.
